The effect of word wall toward students’ vocabulary score at the eight grade students of MTs Muslimat NU Palangka Raya

This study is aimed to measure the effect of word wall toward students’vocabulary score at the eight grade students of MTs Muslimat Nu Palangka Raya. The study included in quantitative Approach with Quasi Experimental design, especially non-randomized control group, pre-test and post-test. The problem the study was “Is there any effect of word wall towards students’ vocabulary mastery at the eight grade students of MTs Muslimat NU Palangka Raya?”. The writer designed the Lesson Plan, conducted the treatment and observed the students’ score by pre-test and post-test. The population of study was the eight grade students of MTs Muslimat Nu Palangka Raya which consisted of 3 classes that each class of 39 students. The writer choose VIII-A as control class and VIII-C experiment class which both as sample. The sample was determined using cluster random sampling technique. The writer applied T-test calculation to test the hypothesis to analyze the data. The result of testing normality found asymptotic significance (0.239) that was higher than significance level (α=0.05). It could be concluded the data distribution was normal. The result of homogeneity showed that the significance observed (0.44) was higher than (α=0.05). It could be concluded that the data was homogeneous. The result of T-test using manual calculation found tobserved (9.197485874) and ttable at signifance level of 5% (1.99). It meant tobserved>ttable. The result of T-test using SPSS 18.0 calculation found tobserved (9.197485874) was higher than ttable at significance level of 5% (1.99). It was interpreted that the alternative hypotheses (Ha) stating there is significant effect of word wall toward students’ vocabulary score at the eight grade students of MTs Muslimat Nu Palangka Raya was accepted and null hypotheses (Ho) stating there is no significant effect of word wall toward students’ teaching vocabulary score at the eight grade students of MTs Muslimat Nu Palangka Raya was rejected, It is proved the value tobserved was higher than ttable, either at significance level 5% or 1% (1.992.64). It meant that teaching vocabulary using word wall toward students’ vocabulary score at the eight grade students of MTs Muslimat Nu Palangka Raya. based on the result above, it is recommended that the teachers are able to apply this media in teaching vocabulary for the students. ABSTRAK Penelitian ini ditujukan untuk mengukur efek dari word wall terhadap nilai kosakata murid di kelas VIII di MTs Muslimat Nu Palangka Raya. Jenis penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain eksperimen-semu, tanpa pengacakan,kelompok kontrol, pra-uji-pasca-uji. Peneliti menyiapkan rencana pelaksanaan pembelajaran, melakukan pengajaran dan menghitung nilai siswa dari pra-test hingga pasca-test. Masalah penelitian adalah “Apakah ada efek word wall dalam pemebelajaran kosakata pada murid kelas VIII di MTs Muslimat NU Palangka Raya dibandingkan dengan murid yang diajarkan tanpa word wall?”. Populasi dari penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas delapan dari MTs Muslimat Nu Palangka Raya pada tiga kelas, masing-masing terdapat 39 siswa. Kemudian peneliti memlih kelas VIII-A sebagai kelas kontrol dan VIII-C sebagai kelas eksperimen yang keduanya sebagai sampel dengan menggunakan teknik sample acak (Clustering sample). Peneliti menggunakan T-test untuk menganalisa data. Hasil dari pengujian normalitas diperoleh nilai asymptotic significance (0.239) yang mana lebih tinggi dari tingkat signifikan 0.05. Oleh sebab itu dapat di simpulkan bahwa data distribusi dari peneltian ini adalah normal. Selanjutnya berdasarkan hasil pengujian homogenitas diperoleh hasil signifikan hitung (0.80) yang mana lebih tinggi dari (α=0.05). Dari hasil itu dapat di simpulkan bahwa data penelitian ini memiliki varian yang homogeny. Berdasarkan perhitungan menggunakan T-test pada penghitungan manual, diperoleh tobserved (9.197485874) Memiliki dan ttable pada level signifikan 5% (1.99). Itu berarti tobserved>ttable.. Hasil T-test menggunakan perhitungan SPSS 18.0 di peroleh tobserved (9.197485874) lebih tinggi dari alternatif (Ha) yang menyatakan bahwa ada efek yang signifikan pada nilai kosakata murid di kelas VIII di MTs Muslimat Nu Palangka Raya menggunakan word wall dapat di terima dan hipotesis nol (Ho) yang menyatakan bahwa tidak ada efek yang signifikan pada word wall terhadap nilai kosakata murid di kelas VIII di MTs Muslimat Nu Palangka Raya di tolak. Ini terbukti dari nilai tobserved lebih tingg dari ttable pada tingkat signifikan 5% atau 1% (1.992.64). Ini berarti pembelajaran kosakata dengan menggunakan word wall terhadap nilai kosakata pada murid kelas delapan MTs Muslimat Nu Palangka Raya memberikan efek yang signifikan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini, maka disarankan kepada para guru agar dapat menerapkan media ini dalam peebelajaran kosakata kepada murid

Analisis Pengaruh Marketing Mix Terhadap Persepsi Konsumen Platinum Ceramics Industry Ltd Surabaya.

The ceramic floors are the products which are used for house floors and have an art touching. The ceramic mosaics are prepared by the company, for public to fulfill the housing needs. So one consumer with the other consumer has different perception of the product, price, distribution and promotion. For that reason we need to know the influence of marketing mix to the consumer perception for the good and bad of Platinum Ceramics Industry Ltd, so we will know how the influence of marketing mix to the consumer perception of Platinum Ceramics Industry Ltd. The understandingof this problem is important for the marketer, as a basic making of effective marketing strategic. The that reason this research is for knowing the marketing mix influence to the consumer perception about the good and bad of Platinum Ceramics Industry Ltd, and the most dominant variable.According to the consumer behaviour theory which consist of buyer characteritic which must be paid attention by the marketer, so there is a possibility of marketing mix influence to the consumer perception. Baside that, there is marketing mix variable which has the most dominant influence to the consumer perception.This research is done to the mosaic ceramic consumers with the brand Platimun which has needs and wants with the research object target in Surabaya. The amount of respondens which are used for samples are 100 people, the sampling method which is used is the convenience method, the samples are the ones which are easily met and in coincidence surveying at the mosaic ceramic. The data collections are done by iterviewing and spreading the questionairs. The results of the research are : (1) There is an influence of partial marketing mix variable to the consumer perception about the good and bad of Platinum Ceramics Industry Ltd Surabaya. (2) There is an influence of marketing mix variable together to the consumer perception about the good and bad Platinum Ceramics Industry Ltd Surabaya. (3) The price variable is the most dominant influence. The conclusion which is got is the marketing mix has positive influence to the consumer perception about the good and bad of Platinum Ceramics Industry Ltd Surabaya.The marketing mix analization like above can give the implication to the marketing strategy, especially for making aand deciding the marketing mix strategy of Platinum Ceramics Industry Ltd Surabaya

English Language Teaching in Government Schools in Sri Lanka: A Survey based on Kinniya Education Zone, Trincomalee

This study was carried out with the aim of investigating the state of ELT in Kinniya Education Zone, Trincomalee and the factors affecting ELT. This study was a survey research and quantitative method was used for primary data collection.  Kinniya Education Zone was selected as the research setting and 35 English as a Second Language teachers from 35 town schools and rural schools were randomly selected as sample population. A questionnaire with close-ended questions was used as the research instrument. Based on the findings of the data analysis, most of the participants’ educational qualifications were Higher National Diploma in English (HNDE) and English medium degrees. Moreover, a large number of students agreed that the ESL teachers in Kinniya Education Zone encounter challenges in teaching English. Lack of interest, lack of basic knowledge in English, crowded classrooms, use of traditional teaching methods and mother tongue and lack of modern teaching/learning equipment are identified as major factors for the failure of ELT in Kinniya Education Zone. According to participants’ responses, the following suggestions can be implemented at government schools in Sri Lanka to overcome the failure of ELT in Kinniya Education Zone. They are: use of modern teaching approaches, establishing a separate language unit with modern teaching equipment in each school, appointing competent and trained teachers at primary sections/schools, using English Language in the classrooms, reducing the number of students in the crowded classes and application of interesting language games and activities in the classroom. The use of social media as a source of religious knowledge among doctors in Makassar, Indonesia

In the past, religious knowledge was obtained by reading religious books, but now the development of technology allows religious knowledge to be obtained from social media instead. This article aims to determine the use of social media as a source of religious knowledge for doctors in Makassar, Indonesia. The method used is qualitative, conducted through observations and in-depth interviews with key informants, i.e. members of this social group. Participants were recruited via a local Whatsapp group that contained 66 doctors, 15 of which then became informants in this study. The results of the study show that Facebook, WhatsApp, and Instagram are the most widely used forms of communication media for doctors to obtain religious knowledge. Furthermore, the majority of the religious messages posted in the WhatsApp social group by these health center doctors is for daily instructions and is posted according to the needs of members. The doctors usually do not give many comments on the messages in their social groups to avoid differences of opinion or conflicts between members. If there is a message that may lead to different opinions or even debate, mutual respect becomes their first consideration, because they realize that mutual respect is necessary when living in such a multicultural, multi-ethnic, and multi-religious society. The implications of this research are an increased awareness of how communication media works and an understanding that the mosque is not the only way we can develop and increase our religious knowledge

Pesantren and Madrasah were born because of the acculturation of local culture and Islam, so Islamic education practitioners should be open, adaptive, and not anti-cultural. Implication of Education in Acculturating Culture of Mambabei An A'Uhaidao Village, Aralle District, Mama’sa Regency, West Sulawesi

Acculturation is a form of cultural change caused by contact or cultural groups, which emphasizes the acceptance of new cultural patterns and characteristics of indigenous peoples by minority groups. The acculturation of Islamic culture and local culture in Mambabei Ana' culture gave birth to various social values ​​in the social interactions of the community. Mambabei Ana' culture is an example of associative social interaction that leads to unity and cooperation in society. The research method used in this thesis is descriptive qualitative research. The data in this study were obtained from primary data and secondary data. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews and documentation, equipped with technical data analysis using data reduction, presentation and verification. The results of this study indicate that: 1) The implementation of the Mambabei Ana' culture in Uhaidao Village, Aralle District, Mamasa Regency is carried out with several ceremonial activities through three stages, namely the preparation stage (mappaissang, mokaju, ma'baje/sokko, and ma'bungkungkus); implementation stage (pegereang beke, pegereang manu, pambeengang sanga, and pa'bacaang barazanji); and the closing stage (ma'tarakang, and pambacaang prayer). 2) There are several social values ​​that exist in the acculturation of Mambabei Ana' culture, Uhaidao Village, Aralle District, Mamasa Regency, namely mutual cooperation, mutual assistance, togetherness, compassion, unity and praying for each other. 3) The implications of social education in acculturating Mambaaei Ana' culture, Uhaidao Village, Aralle District, Mamasa Regency, namely education on social awareness, social harmony
