Skúšanie opakovanej presnosti polohovania plazmovej rezacej hlavy
Paper briefly describes design of experiments aimed at verification of selected technological parameters of the plasma cutting machine. Design solution of the plasma cutting machine represents a complex kinematic structure with 9 DOF. Reaching the prescribed repeated accuracy of the positioning is one of the main parameters that is required from the machine. Full experiment design covers more than thousands experiments. Therefore reduced experiment design was prepared tehat requires only 32 experiments. We consider only one execution of each experiment. When thae data variability should be observed, five repeating of each experiment is required, resulting in respective increase of the number of experiments
Strategic Groups and Banks’ Performance
The theory of strategic groups predicts the existence of stable groups of companies that adopt similar business strategies. The theory also predicts that groups will differ in performance and in their reaction to external shocks. We use cluster analysis to identify strategic groups in the Polish banking sector. We find stable groups in the Polish banking sector constituted after the year 2000 following the major privatisation and ownership changes connected with transition to the mostly-privately-owned banking sector in the late 90s. Using panel regression methods we show that the allocation of banks to groups is statistically significant in explaining the profitability of banks. Thus, breaking down the banks into strategic groups and allowing for the different reaction of the groups to external shocks helps in a more accurate explanation of profits of the banking sector as a whole. Therefore, a more precise ex ante assessment of the loss absorption capabilities of banks is possible, which is crucial for an analysis of banking sector stability. However, we did not find evidence of the usefulness of strategic groups in explaining the quality of bank portfolios as measured by irregular loans over total loans, which is a more direct way to assess risks to financial stability.strategic groups, financial stability, clustering, Ward algorithm, panel regression
High Accuracy Positioning with GNSS receivers in Common Smartphones
Significant technological advances have been made in the development of common mobile devices over the last few years. This progress has led to a significant step forward in positioning accuracy through these devices. Free access to raw measurements recorded by mobile devices allows the application of advanced GNSS positioning techniques, in order to achieve higher positioning accuracy. The work deals with testing the positioning accuracy of mobile devices in a diverse environment, in static and kinematic modes, real - time positioning and post - processing of raw observations. Within the thesis - processing of raw observations, the positioning accuracy of advanced as well as basic GNSS techniques are tested. The achieved results are also compared with accuracy of the geodetic reference device. At present, there is a growing interest in the problematic of accurate positioning using mobile devices. The results of this work will enrich the new conclusions with a range of knowledge already acquired about the capabilities and possibilities that these devices offer.548 - Katedra geoinformatikyvýborn
Networked relationships in the e-MID Interbank market: A trading model with memory
Interbank markets are fundamental for bank liquidity management. In this paper, we introduce a model of interbank trading with memory. Our model reproduces features of preferential trading patterns in the e-MID market recently empirically observed through the method of statistically validated networks. The memory mechanism is used to introduce a proxy of trust in the model. The key idea is that a lender, having lent many times to a borrower in the past, is more likely to lend to that borrower again in the future than to other borrowers, with which the lender has never (or has in- frequently) interacted. The core of the model depends on only one parameter representing the initial attractiveness of all the banks as borrowers. Model outcomes and real data are compared through a variety of measures that describe the structure and properties of trading networks, including number of statistically validated links, bidirectional links, and 3-motifs. Refinements of the pairing method are also proposed, in order to capture finite memory and reciprocity in the model. The model is implemented within the Mason framework in Java

Anxiety Disorders: The Relationship between Insight and Metacognition
Background: The exploration of metacognition in relation to anxiety has received considerable attention in recent decades. Research indicates that it plays a role in the development and maintenance of anxiety disorders while also providing benefits, including the ability to assess situations, modify behaviors, and make informed decisions. //Summary: We propose that having an awareness of a disorder, also known as insight, is related to metacognition in anxiety. This relationship stems from the ability it provides individuals to recognize their mental state through reflection on personal experiences. We discuss the impact of insight and metacognition on decision-making, treatment-seeking behaviors, and coping strategy selection. // Key Messages: Understanding the concept of insight in anxiety disorders, as compared to other mental disorders like psychosis, requires exploring its complexities while carefully considering the balance of harms and benefits. While the medicalization of symptoms in psychosis is widely regarded as clearly beneficial, evaluating the role of insight in anxiety disorders demands a more nuanced understanding. Gaining a fuller perspective on patients’ beliefs can impact their behaviors and decision-making. Clinicians can achieve this by encouraging active self-reflection to increase awareness, which includes evaluating both severity and impact on daily functioning. This also involves expressing experiences and exploring attributions of anxiety. This practical approach enables clinicians to understand engagement and treatment-seeking behaviors, allowing them to tailor treatment plans and develop effective coping and management strategies. Ultimately, this knowledge promotes a deeper comprehension of insight into anxiety disorders

Abundance and community composition of arboreal spiders : the relative importance of habitat structure, prey availability and competition
This work examined the importance of structural complexity of habitat, availability
of prey, and competition with ants as factors influencing the abundance and community
composition of arboreal spiders in western Oregon.
In 1993, I compared the spider communities of several host-tree species which
have different branch structure. I also assessed the importance of several habitat variables
as predictors of spider abundance and diversity on and among individual tree species. The
greatest abundance and species richness of spiders per 1-m-long branch tips were found on
structurally more complex tree species, including Douglas-fir, Pseudotsuga menziesii
(Mirbel) Franco and noble fir, Abies procera Rehder. Spider densities, species richness
and diversity positively correlated with the amount of foliage, branch twigs and prey
densities on individual tree species. The amount of branch twigs alone explained almost
70% of the variation in the total spider abundance across five tree species.
In 1994, I experimentally tested the importance of needle density and branching
complexity of Douglas-fir branches on the abundance and community structure of spiders
and their potential prey organisms. This was accomplished by either removing needles, by
thinning branches or by tying branches. Tying branches resulted in a significant increase in
the abundance of spiders and their prey. Densities of spiders and their prey were reduced
by removal of needles and thinning. The spider community of needle-sparse branches was
dominated by orb weavers (Araneidae), whereas tied branches were preferably colonized
by sheet-web weavers (Linyphiidae and Micryphantidae), and nocturnal hunting spiders
(Anyphaeilidae and Clubionidae). Spider species richness and diversity increased in
structurally more complex habitats.
In 1994 and 1995, I excluded foraging Camponotus spp. ants from canopies of sapling Douglas-fir. Biomass of potential prey organisms, dominated by Psocoptera, increased significantly by 1.9 to 2.4-fold on the foliage following ant exclusion. Hunting spiders, dominated by the Salticidae, increased significantly by 1.5 to 1.8-fold in trees without ants in the late summer. The exclusion of ants did not affect the abundance of web-building spiders. Documented aggressive behavior of aphid-tending ants suggests interference competition between hunting spiders and ants
