Sunlight, tungsten lamp, LED, laser, mercury vapor lamp and halogen are the example of the light source.  It is important to test the stability of the light source used to avoid inaccuracy in the measurement. The purpose of this project is to determine which color of laser has higher stability. Once the light is switched on, the intensity of the light source changes slowly until it comes to a stable state. Each color has different counts of intensity and stability. Different set of laser pointer is used in this project which included blue, violet, red and green color. An open path optical method is used in the experiment. A different color of laser pointer will be used as a light source while spectrometer will act as a detector. The stability for each color of laser pointer is reported in this paper

    271-282In this study, 3-alkyl(aryl)-4-amino-4,5-dihydro-1H-1,2,4-triazol-5-ones have been reacted with 3-methoxy-4-isobutyryloxybenzaldehyde 2 to afford the corresponding nine new 3-alkyl(aryl)-4-(3-methoxy-4-isobutyryloxybenzylideneamino)-4,5-dihydro-1H-1,2,4-triazol-5-ones 3. Then, the acetylation reactions of compounds 3 have been investigated and 4 type compounds have been obtained. The compounds 3 have also been treated with morpholine/1-methylpiperazine in the presence of formaldehyde according to the Mannich reaction to synthesize 1-(morpholine-4-yl-methyl)-3-alkyl(aryl)-4-(3-methoxy-4-isobutyryloxy-benzylideneamino)-4,5-dihydro-1H-1,2,4-triazol-5-ones 5, and 1-(1-methylpiperazin-4-yl-methyl)-3-alkyl(aryl)-4-(3-methoxy-4-isobutyryloxybenzylideneamino)-4,5-dihydro-1H-1,2,4-triazol-5-ones 6, respectively. The structures of twenty four new compounds have been characterized by IR, 1H and 13C NMR and MS spectroscopic methods. In addition, the newly synthesized compounds have been screened for their antimicrobial activities. Furthermore, these twenty four new compounds have been analyzed for their in vitro potential antioxidant activities by three different methods

    New vehicle bumper design for pedestrian protection during impact

    This study discusses the influence of the active bumper design on the performance of the selected current bumper in terms of pedestrian protection by using finite element method. The legform impactor is used to test the bumper models created according to EEVC/WG regulations (European Enhanced Vehicle-Safety Committee). The simulation was performed using LS-DYNA. The lower leg injury risk was discussed based on the performance of the bumper. Results of the study show a significant improvement in the bumper performance to mitigate the impact injury of the pedestrian's lower leg.Scopu

    Harmonic Contribution Analysis of Electric Arc Furnace by Using Spectrogram

    In this paper, spectrogram, a fast and accurate technique is introduced for the analysis of the contribution. Based on a rule-based classifier and the threshold settings that referred to the IEEE Standard 1159 2009, the analysis of the harmonic and interharmonic contribution of EAF are carried out successfully. Moreover, the impact of contribution is measured using total harmonic distortion (THD) and total non-harmonic distortion (TnHD). In addition, spectrogram also gives 100 percent correct detection and able to analyze the contribution impact. It is proven that the proposed method is accurate, fast and cost efficient for analyzing the impact of harmonic and interharmonic of EAF

    An Identification of Multiple Harmonic Sources in a Distribution System by Using Spectrogram

    The identification of multiple harmonic sources (MHS) is vital to identify the root causes and the mitigation technique for a harmonic disturbance. This paper introduces an identification technique of MHS in a power distribution system by using a time-frequency distribution (TFD) analysis known as a spectrogram. The spectrogram has advantages in term of its accuracy, a less complex algorithm, and use of low memory size compared to previous methods such as probabilistic and harmonic power flow direction. The identification of MHS is based on the significant relationship of spectral impedances, which are the fundamental impedance (Z1) and harmonic impedance (Zh) that estimate the time-frequency representation (TFR). To verify the performance of the proposed method, an IEEE test feeder with several different harmonic producing loads is simulated. It is shown that the suggested method is excellent with 100% correct identification of MHS. The method is accurate, fast and cost-efficient in the identification of MHS in power distribution arrangement
