La presente nota es un comentario al hallazgo de Póngidos fósiles en España y un catálogo de las piezas descubiertas en nuestro país (sólo en Cataluña), después del Dryopithecus fontani de la Seo de Urgel en 1913. La mayoría de los materiales proceden de los yacimientos vallesienses de Can Llobateras y de San Ponsic, en el Vallés-Penedés y el conjunto de los mismos se eleva a cincuenta constituyéndose en el segundo conjunto eurasiático después del clásico de los Siwalik

Zielartenanalyse mit Animal Aided Design und Biodiversitätsmonitoringkonzept für die Wohnüberbauung «im Kessler» in Urdorf

Die Biodiversität in der Schweiz und weltweit ist in einem besorgniserregenden Zustand. Das immer stärker werdende Bedürfnis gegen den fortlaufenden Artenverlust vorzugehen führte dazu, dass verschiedene Instrumente und Methoden geschaffen wurden, wie Planer von grösseren Landschaftsgestaltungsprojekten, aber auch von kleineren Umgebungsgestaltungen im Siedlungsraum, mit ihren Projekten dagegen vorgehen können. Eine solche Methode ist Animal Aided Design von Hauck und Weisser, welche die Bedürfnisse und Ansprüche sogenannter Zielarten in den Mittelpunkt des Planungsprozesses stellt. Die Wohnüberbauung «im Kessler» in Urdorf ist ein Bauprojekt, welches neben eines innovativen Plus-Energie-Haushalts auch eine vorbildhafte biodiversitätsfördernde Umgebungsgestaltung aufweisen soll. Die vom Architekturbüro «Dardelet» aus Egg im Kanton Zürich geplante Umgebungsgestaltung basiert auf den Ansprüchen von zehn verschiedenen Zielarten. Im Rahmen dieser Arbeit wurde mit Hilfe der Liste der national prioritären Arten des Bundesamtes für Umwelt, der Liste der Artwerte der Fachstelle Naturschutz des Kanton Zürichs und einer Artenabfrage beim Centre Suisse de Cartographie de la Faune (CSCF), welche als Resultat alle Arten herausgab, welche am Standort der Wohnüberbauung in Urdorf bereits vorkommen und gleichzeitig als national prioritäre Arten gelten, überprüft, ob das Architekturbüro «Dardelet» geeignete Zielarten für Artenschutzmassnahmen ausgewählt hat. In einem zweiten und dritten Schritt wurden auf Basis einer Literaturrecherche Artenportraits nach Animal Aided Design für alle zehn ausgewählten Zielarten angefertigt und ein Biodiversitätsmonitoringkonzept für die Erfolgskontrolle der geplanten Artenschutzmassnahmen angefertigt. Zum Schluss wurde die Umgebungsplanung des Architekturbüros «Dardelet» mit den angefertigten Artenportraits nach Animal Aided Design auf Übereinstimmungen und Ungleichheiten untersucht.Biodiversity in Switzerland and worldwide is in an alarming state. The increasing need to take action against the ongoing loss of species led to the creation of various instruments and methods for planners of larger landscape design projects, but also of smaller environmental designs in settlement areas, to counteract this with their projects. One of this methods is Animal Aided Design by Hauck and Weisser, which places the needs and demands of so-called target species in the middle of the planning process. The housing development "im Kessler" in Urdorf is a construction project which, in addition to an innovative plus-energy household, should also have an exemplary biodiversity-promoting surrounding design. The design of the surroundings, planned by the “Dardelet” architectural firm from Egg in the canton of Zurich, is based on the requirements of ten different target species. As part of this work, with the help of the list of national priority species from the Federal Office for the Environment, the list of species values from the nature conservation department of the canton of Zurich and a species query at the Center Suisse de Cartographie de la Faune (CSCF), which showed all species as a result, which already occur at the site of the housing development in Urdorf and are also considered to be species of national priority, checks whether the Dardelet architectural office has selected suitable target species for species protection measures. In a second and third step, on the basis of a literature research, species portraits were prepared according to Animal Aided De-sign for all ten selected target species and a biodiversity monitoring concept was prepared to monitor the success of the planned species protection measures. Finally, the environment planning by the architects "Dardelet" with the prepared species portraits according to Animal Aided Design was examined for similarities and inequalities

How Technical Innovations May Help to Prevent Drug Shortages in Switzerland

In this work, we investigated the technical feasibility of 'on-demand' production of selected drugs to cover their demand for a time window of 90 days. We focused on two sub-processes 'automated chemical synthesis' and 'formulation in micropellets'  to enable personalized dosing. The production of drugs 'on-demand' is challenging, important, but also attractive. Switzerland could thus gain access to an additional instrument for increasing resilience for supply-critical drugs. The biggest challenge in the case study presented here is the scalability of automated chemical synthesis and the application range of micropellet formulations

Modelling a Secure, Mobile, and Transactional System with CO-OPN

Modelling complex concurrent systems is often difficult and error-prone, in particular when new concepts coming from advanced practical applications are considered. These new application domains include dynamicity, mobility, security, and localization dependent computing. In order to fully model and prototype such systems we propose to use several concepts introduced in our specification language CO-OPN, like context, dynamicity, mobility, subtyping and inheritance. CO-OPN (Concurrent Object Oriented Petri Net) is a formal specification language for modelling distributed systems; it is based on coordinated algebraic Petri nets. This paper focuses on the use of several basic mechanisms of CO-OPN for modelling mobile systems and the generation of corresponding Java code.
