    Constraint on the CKM angle alpha from the experimental measurements of CP violation in B_d^0 --> pi^+ pi^- decay

    In this paper, we study and try to find the constraint on the CKM angle alpha from the experimental measurements of CP violation in B_d^0 --> pi^+ pi^- decay, as reported very recently by BaBar and Belle Collaborations. After considering uncertainties of the data and the ratio r of penguin over tree amplitude, we found that strong constraint on both the CKM angle alpha and the strong phase delta can be obtained from the measured CP asymmetries S_{pi pi} and A_{pi pi}: (a) the ranges of 87 degrees <= alpha <= 131 degrees and 36 degrees <= delta <= 144 degrees are allowed by 1 sigma of the averaged data for r = 0.31; (b) for Belle's result alone, the limits on alpha and delta are 104 degrees <= alpha <= 139 degrees and 42 degrees <= delta <= 138 degrees for 0.32 <= r <= 0.41; and (c) the angle alpha larger than 90 degrees is preferred.Comment: Revtex, 17 pages with 6 ps/eps figure files, new Babar data Reported at ICHEP 2002 considere

    Prospects for the Measurement of the Higgs Yukawa Couplings to b and c quarks, and muons at CLIC

    The investigation of the properties of the Higgs boson, especially a test of the predicted linear dependence of the branching ratios on the mass of the final state is going to be an integral part of the physics program at colliders at the energy frontier for the foreseeable future. The large Higgs boson production cross section at a 3TeV CLIC machine allows for a precision measurement of the Higgs branching ratios. The cross section times branching ratio of the decays H->bb, H->cc and H->{\mu}{\mu} of a Standard Model Higgs boson with a mass of 120 GeV can be measured with a statistical uncertainty of 0.23%, 3.1% and 15%, respectively, assuming an integrated luminosity of 2 ab-1.Comment: 6 pages, 4 figure

    В работе проанализированы факторы, влияющие на коррозию металлической крепи в горных выработках. На основе проведения ускоренных коррозионных испытаний определена зависимость протекания процесса коррозии от наличия окалины, минерализации шахтных вод, а также изменения скорости коррозии от действующих нагрузок, что позволило прогнозировать коррозионный износ с учетом условий эксплуатации. Построена номограмма для определения изменения несущей способности СВП-профилей в течение срока эксплуатации применительно к условиям угольных шахт на предприятиях «Добропольеуголь» и «Павлоградуголь». Разработаны составы смесей торкрет-бетона, в которых была использована зола уноса в качестве замены части цемента. Также был проведен анализ защитного действия бетонных покрытий по отношению к металлу крепи. Для научных и инженерно-технических работников институтов и горнодобывающих предприятий.     QCD Sum Rule Determination of α(MZ)\alpha(M_Z) with Minimal Data Input

    We present the results of a new evaluation of the running fine structure constant α\alpha at the scale of the ZZ mass in which the role of the e+ee^+e^- annihilation input data needed in this evaluation is minimized. This is achieved by reducing the weight function MZ2/(s(MZ2s))M_Z^2/(s(M_Z^2-s)) in the dispersion integral over the e+ee^+e^- annihilation data by subtracting a polynomial function from the weight function which mimics its energy dependence in given energy intervals. In order to compensate for this subtraction the same polynomial weight integral is added again but is now evaluated on a circular contour in the complex plane using QCD and global duality. For the hadronic contribution to the shift in the fine structure constant we obtain Δαhad(5)=(277.6±4.1)104\Delta\alpha^{(5)}_{\rm had}=(277.6\pm 4.1)\cdot 10^{-4}. Adding in the leptonic and top contributions our final result is α(MZ)1=128.925±0.056\alpha(M_Z)^{-1}=128.925\pm 0.056.Comment: no changes, PostScript figures included in the text for convenienc

    On-Mass-Shell Renormalization of Fermion Mixing Matrices

    We consider favourable extensions of the standard model (SM) where the lepton sector contains Majorana neutrinos with vanishing left-handed mass terms, thus allowing for the see-saw mechanism to operate, and propose physical on-mass-shell (OS) renormalization conditions for the lepton mixing matrices that comply with ultraviolet finiteness, gauge-parameter independence, and (pseudo)unitarity. A crucial feature is that the texture zero in the neutrino mass matrix is preserved by renormalization, which is not automatically the case for possible generalizations of existing renormalization prescriptions for the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa (CKM) quark mixing matrix in the SM. Our renormalization prescription also applies to the special case of the SM and leads to a physical OS definition of the renormalized CKM matrix.Comment: 18 pages (Latex), to appear in Nucl. Phys.

    Strong and Weak Phases from Time-Dependent Measurements of BππB \to \pi \pi

    Time-dependence in B0(t)π+πB^0(t) \to \pi^+ \pi^- and \ob(t) \to \pi^+ \pi^- is utilized to obtain a maximal set of information on strong and weak phases. One can thereby check theoretical predictions of a small strong phase δ\delta between penguin and tree amplitudes. A discrete ambiguity between δ0\delta \simeq 0 and δπ\delta \simeq \pi may be resolved by comparing the observed charge-averaged branching ratio predicted for the tree amplitude alone, using measurements of BπlνB \to \pi l \nu and factorization, or by direct comparison of parameters of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa (CKM) matrix with those determined by other means. It is found that with 150 fb1^{-1} from BaBar and Belle, this ambiguity will be resolvable if no direct CP violation is found. In the presence of direct CP violation, the discrete ambiguity between δ\delta and πδ\pi - \delta becomes less important, vanishing altogether as δπ/2|\delta| \to \pi/2.     Цель работы – разработка практических рекомендаций по совершенствованию управления дебиторской задолженностью АО "Тюменьэнерго". В процессе исследования проводились определение организационно-экономической характеристики предприятия электроэнергетики АО "Тюменьэнерго", анализ финансового состояния предприятия, анализ дебиторской задолженности, изучение управления дебиторской задолженностью АО "Тюменьэнерго". В результате исследования был установлен ряд проблем на предприятии, для решения которых предложены рекомендации по совершенствованию управления дебиторской задолженностью. По результатам расчета показателей эффективности управления дебиторской задолженностью обоснована эффективность применения рекомендации для АО "Тюменьэнерго".The aim of the work is to develop practical recommendations for improving the management of accounts receivable of JSC "Tyumenenergo". During investigations it was carried out the definition of organizational and economic characteristics of the electricity company JSC "Tyumenenergo", the analysis of the financial condition of the company, the accounts receivable analysis, the study of receivables management of JSC "Tyumenenergo". The investigations of the company detected a number of problems, for which the recommendations for improving the management of accounts receivable were suggested. According to the results of calculation of management indicators receivable it was proved the effectiveness of the recommendations for the JSC "Tyumenenergo"

    The Physics of Hadronic Tau Decays

    Hadronic tau decays represent a clean laboratory for the precise study of quantum chromodynamics (QCD). Observables (sum rules) based on the spectral functions of hadronic tau decays can be related to QCD quark-level calculations to determine fundamental quantities like the strong coupling constant, parameters of the chiral Lagrangian, |V_us|, the mass of the strange quark, and to simultaneously test the concept of quark-hadron duality. Using the best available measurements and a revisited analysis of the theoretical framework, the value alpha_s(m_tau) = 0.345 +- 0.004[exp] +- 0.009[theo] is obtained. Taken together with the determination of alpha_s(m_Z) from the global electroweak fit, this result leads to the most accurate test of asymptotic freedom: the value of the logarithmic slope of 1/alpha_s(s) is found to agree with QCD at a precision of 4%. In another approach, the tau spectral functions can be used to determine hadronic quantities that, due to the nonperturbative nature of long-distance QCD, cannot be computed from first principles. An example for this is the contribution from hadronic vacuum polarization to loop-dominated processes like the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon.
