Evaluation of the coordination between China’s technology and economy using a grey multivariate coupling model

    Get PDF
As extremely complex interactions exist in the process of economic research and development, a novel grey multivariable coupling model called CFGM(1,N) is proposed to evaluate the coordination degree between China’s technology and economy with limited information. This proposed model improves the aggregation in GM(1,N) model through the Choquet integral among λ-fuzzy measure, which can reflect interactions among factor indexes. Meanwhile, it can estimate the coordinate parameters via the whale optimization algorithm and obtains the coupling coordination degree combining with grey comentropy. To verify the proposed model, a case study using a dataset from China’s technology and the economic system is conducted. The CFGM(1,N) model has a better performance in the convergence and interpretability, as compared to the three heuristic algorithm and two classical approaches. Our finding suggests that China’s technology and the economic system is still relatively coordinated. Results also reveal that there exists strong negative cooperation between the comprehensive human input and the comprehensive capital investment in this system. The application of hybrid photovoltaic system on the ocean-going ship : engineering practice and experimental research

The constant development of electronic inverter technology has played a key role in promoting the exploration and development of solar ships. For the large-scale ocean-going ship platform, the critical issue of applying solar photovoltaic (PV) system is integrating PV equipment into the ship power system (SPS) without changing its original structure. This paper compares the existent technical differences for applying the off-grid and grid-connected PV system in the SPS and proposes the basic design principles for marine integration applications. The 5000 PCTC ro-ro ship is set as the application object, on which a hybrid PV system with large-capacity lithium battery storage device is designed and installed as an independent subsystem. The typical feature of this hybrid PV system is that it can implement operation mode switching between off-grid and grid-connected, according to the evaluation on solar radiation resource, power load requirement and state of charge in the lithium battery. The test results show that this PV system has a stable operation characteristic under different operation modes. In addition, this ship-based PV power system has automatic and reliable operation management capability, which could effectively reduce manual control frequency and maintenance workload of a marine engineer. The National Natural Science Foundation of China (No. 51422507) and Hubei Provincial Leading High Talent Training Program Funded Project (No. HBSTD [2012] 86).http://tandfonline.com/toc/tmar202019-07-05hj2018Electrical, Electronic and Computer Engineerin

Comparison of disease resistance of maize varieties from the 1950s to the 2000s in China

    Get PDF
The objective of this investigation was to analyze trends in diseases resistance along with genetic gain. Experimental materials consisted of maize varieties selected from each decade beginning with the 1950s. These varieties were evaluated for resistance to maize dwarf mosaic virus (MDMV), maize rough dwarf virus (MRDV), common smut disease (CSD) and head smut disease (HSD) in several different locations. Artificial inoculation was adopted for infection with MDMV and HSD, whereas natural infection was used for infection MRDV and CSD. Results indicated that resistance of the newer varieties to MDMV, CSD, and HSD was greater than that of older varieties, but the correlation to decades was not significant. To date, no variety tested in China has shown resistance to MRDV, which is likely due to a lack of maize germplasm resources resistant to MRDV in China. So the next goal will be to import new germplasm resources and select resistant germplasm as the basis of breeding resistant varieties

Mapping translocation breakpoints using a wheat microarray

We report mapping of translocation breakpoints using a microarray. We used complex RNA to compare normal hexaploid wheat (17 000 Mb genome) to a ditelosomic stock missing the short arm of chromosome 1B (1BS) and wheat-rye translocations that replace portions of 1BS with rye 1RS. Transcripts detected by a probe set can come from all three Triticeae genomes in ABD hexaploid wheat, and sequences of homoeologous genes on 1AS, 1BS and 1DS often differ from each other. Absence or replacement of 1BS therefore must sometimes result in patterns within a probe set that deviate from hexaploid wheat. We termed these ‘high variance probe sets’ (HVPs) and examined the extent to which HVPs associated with 1BS aneuploidy are related to rice genes on syntenic rice chromosome 5 short arm (5S). We observed an enrichment of such probe sets to 15–20% of all HVPs, while 1BS represents ∼2% of the total genome. In total 257 HVPs constitute wheat 1BS markers. Two wheat-rye translocations subdivided 1BS HVPs into three groups, allocating translocation breakpoints to narrow intervals defined by rice 5S coordinates. This approach could be extended to the entire wheat genome or any organism with suitable aneuploid or translocation stocks
