    THE IMPACT OF RECRUITMENT SYSTEM AND CAREER DEVELOPMENT ON THE ENHANCING OF EFFECTIVENESS IN WORKING THROUGH COMPENSATION AS INTERVENING VARIABLE AT NIAGARA HOTEL PARAPAT

    Lake Toba is the biggest and deepest volcanic lake in South-East Asia, located in Parapat, Simalungun Regency, North Sumatra Province, Indonesia. It is the tourism icon in Indonesia andrecommended to be one of the Global Geopark Network (GGN) tourism icons established by UNESCO. The tourists visiting this destination are still as not many as other tourism destinations in Indonesia. Many factors cause such condition. Hotel’s hospitality service, which is an important role for tourism convenience, is not at its maximum quality. Therefore, the domestic and foreign tourists have not been able to thoroughly enjoy the beauty of Lake Toba. The low quality of services may be caused by the less effective of the recruitment system, career development, and compensation systems which result in the diseffectiveness of employees work. The purpose of this research is to analyze the impact of how recruitment system and career development on the enhancing of effectiveness in working through compensation as the intervening variable. The research is carried out at Niagara Hotel Parapat. The population of this study is 174 Niagara Hotel Parapat’s employees and 64 of them are selected as samples for this research. The method used in this research is Path Analysis. The result shows that recruitment system and career development (test-F) have significant positive influence over compensation. There is a significant positive influence between recruitment over compensation, but there is no significant influence between the career developments toward compensation. It causes career development possibility at Niagara Hotel to be too short and the compensation system to still be under the province minimum wage. Recruitment system, career development, and compensation affect positively and significantly to the effectiveness in working. There are significant positive influences among recruitment system, career development, and compensation with respect to the effectiveness of the employees work at Niagara Hotel Parapat. Recruitment is a dominant variable which influences more to work effectiveness rather than to career development, directly or indirectly through compensation. The research also shows that compensation is an intervening variable for recruitment system but not for career development.Danau toba merupakan danau vulkanik terbesar dan terdalam di Asia Tenggara yang terletak di Parapat, Kabupaten Simalungun, Provinsi Sumatera Utara, Indonesia. Danau toba adalah salah satu ikon pariwisata di Indonesia dan disarankan untuk menjadi satu ikon pariwisata global geopark network (GGN ) yang didirikan oleh UNESCO. Namun demikian layanan perhotelan, yang berperan penting bagi kenyamanan wisatawan belum dilakukan secara maksimal. Karena itu, para wisatawan dalam dan luar negeri belum sepenuhnya menikmati keindahan Danau Toba karena tidak didukung oleh akomodasi fasilitas yang disebabkan oleh keterbatasan sumber daya manusia. Ini disebabkan oleh kurang efektif sistem perekrutan, pengembangan karir, dan sistem kompensasi yang berdampak pada ketidakefektivan kerja para karyawan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisa dampak dari sistem perekrutan, pengembangan karir, terhadap efektivitas kerja dengan kompensasi sebagai variabel perantara. Penelitian dilakukan di Niagara Hotel Parapat. Populasi sebanyak 174 karyawan dan 64 orang karyawan sampel. Metode analisis data adalah analisis jalur. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa sistem perekrutan dan pengembangan karir secara bersama-sama (Uji-F) memiliki pengaruh positif signifikan terhadap kompensasi. Berdasarkan uji parsial (Uji-t) bahwa sistem perekrutan berpengaruh positif signifikan terhadap kompensasi, akan tetapi pengembangan karir tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kompensasi. Hal ini disebabkan karena pengembangan karir di Niagara Hotel masih terlalu pendek dan sistem kompensasi masih di bawah standar upah minimum provinsi. Secara langsung sistem perekrutan, pengembangan karir, dan kompensasi berpengaruh positifsignifikan terhadap efektivitas kerja. Perekrutan merupakan variabel yang dominan mempengaruhi efektivitas kerja dibandingkan jenjang karir, baik langsung maupun tidak langsung melalui kompensasi. Penelitian ini juga menunjukkan bahwa kompensasi merupakan variabel perantara antara perekrutan terhadap efektivitas kerja, sedangkan kompensasi tidak mampu menjadi variabel perantara antara pengembangan karir terhadap efektivitas kerja

    This study aims to find out and examine whether there is an effect of implementing management information systems on employee performance at the Karo Regency Personnel and Human Resource Development Agency. This study used descriptive quantitative methods, research data were collected using questionnaires in the form of checklists, observations and documentation. the data was analyzed using descriptive statistics with a simple linear regression formula, the data is explained in tabular form, frequency, narrative of the processed data with the help of SPSS 16. The results of the study show that the implementation of the management information system has been going well but there are still obstacles in its application such as inadequate facilities and infrastructure Lack of skills from employees who do not clearly understand how to use this management information system application, there must be an acc system from data processing which can hinder work, because they still have to wait for the acc. Judging from the results of the study, it shows that the implementation of management information systems on employee performance has been going well and has a partial effect, there is one indicator that has the greatest influence on work productivity, namely the delivery of information. This can be seen from the results of the partial linear regression test, namely data collection of 0.056 and from the results of the simultaneous linear regression test, it has an effect of 0.464 or 46.4% which affects work productivity, the rest is influenced by other variables that have not been examined by researchers

    Keberhasilan sekolah dalam melaksanakan kegiatannya tidak lepas dari efisiensi tenaga pendidik (guru) yang bekerja di sekolah. Sehingga kinerja guru perlu terus ditingkatkan. Salah satu faktor yang berpengaruh adalah motivasi. Dengan harapan guru menjadi lebih bersemangat dan berprestasi lebih dengan motivasi tersebut. Bentuk motivasi yang dapat diberikan salah satunya adalah dengan memberikan penghargaan tertentu yang dapat dilakukan melalui pemilihan guru teladan. Dalam upaya peningkatan semangat mengajar serta kinerja guru guna meningkatkan kualitas sekolah, pihak SD Negeri 028068 Binjai memerlukan suatu kegiatan pemilihan guru teladan yang mana diketahui belum pernah dilakukan. Kebanyakan sekolah dalam pemilihan guru teladan hanya berdasarkan penilaian subjektif dan bahkan ada yang belum melaksanakan pemilihan tersebut. Penelitian ini menerapkan metode Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) untuk menghitung bobot setiap kriteria dan metode Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) untuk merangking calon penerima predikat guru teladan. Adapun penelitian ini menghasilkan bobot kualifikasi akademik sebesar 0,032, sertifikat pendidik sebesar 0,047, kompetensi pedagodik sebesar 0,168, kompetensi kepribadian sebesar 0,418, kompetensi sosial sebesar 0,223, kompetensi profesional sebesar 0,101 dengan nilai consistency ratio (CR) sebesar 0,062 yang berarti perhitungan bobot tersebut adalah konsisten

    ANALISIS SISTEM ANTRIAN PADA PELAYANAN TELLER BANK SUMUT KANTOR CABANG BINJAI

    Permasalahan yang terjadi pada Bank Sumut Kantor Cabang Binjai yaitu terjadinya teller menganggur pada saat tertentu. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk menganalisis ukuran kinerja sistem antrian pada teller dan menentukan jumlah teller yang optimum. Permasalahan tersebut diselesaikan dengan menggunakan metode teori antrian. Selama 5 (lima) hari dilakukan penelitian untuk mengumpulkan data dengan melakukan pengamatan secara langsung pada sistem antrian di teller Bank Sumut Kantor Cabang Binjai yaitu pada tanggal 28 Januari 2022 – 4 Februari 2022 mulai pukul 08.00-12.00 WIB. Struktur antrian yang digunakan Bank Sumut Kantor Cabang Binjai yaitu Multi Channel-Single Phase. Dari hasil uji distribusi  diperoleh  waktu  datangnya nasabah berdistribusi  Poisson  dan  waktu  nasabah dilayani berdistribusi General atau umum. Terdapat 3 teller dengan menerapkan disiplin antrian First Come First Served. Model antrian yang terjadi pada teller adalah (M/G/3):(FCFS/∞/∞). Hasil perhitungan ukuran kinerja sistem dengan 3 teller diperoleh probabilitas teller menganggur sebesar 24,05%. Jumlah teller yang optimal yaitu dengan mengurangi jumlah teller dari 3 teller menjadi 2 teller.  Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan dengan 2 teller dapat mengurangi probabilitas teller mengganggur menjadi 18,14%

    Penerapan Integer Linear Programming dengan Menggunakan Metode Branch and Bound Untuk Mengoptimalkan Jumlah Produksi Roti Isi pada France Bakery Binjai

    Permasalahan yang terjadi pada France Bakery Binjai yaitu jumlah masing-masing roti isi yang diproduksi bukan merupakan jumlah yang sesuai untuk memperoleh keuntungan yang maksimum berdasarkan keterbatasan bahan baku yang tersedia. Adapun tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengoptimalkan jumlah produksi untuk setiap jenis roti isi, sehingga dapat memaksimalkan keuntungan yang diperoleh dari penjualan roti isi. Permasalahan tersebut diselesaikan dengan menerapkan model integer linear programming menggunakan metode branch and bound. Hasil dari perhitungan menggunakan metode ini diperoleh jumlah produksi roti isi yang optimal adalah 732 kemasan roti rasa coklat, 470 kemasan roti rasa kacang hijau, 470 kemasan roti rasa kacang merah, 466 kemasan roti rasa tiramisu, dan 102 kemasan roti rasa melon coklat dengan keuntungan yang diperoleh yaitu sebesar Rp.7.922.000. Dengan menggunakan metode branch and bound keuntungan naik 10,03% atau sebesar Rp.722.000 dari keuntungan data awal selama satu bulan

    Antecedents of tourism destination image and customer satisfaction in tourism industry

    Marketing mix has largely adapted as antecedents for analyzing the marketing performance in many sectors. However, it applicability in tourism sector has not been explored well. This research aims to analyze customers’ satisfaction on tourism destination in order to increase the number of tourists visiting in Indonesia. This novelty is reviewed in depth with relevant theoretical studies and tested in empirical research conducted on how managing marketing mix in tourism sector to boost the number of tourists to visit a destination. Model testing conducted using Structural Equation Modelling (SEM). By taking 350 respondents with purposive sampling technique, the results showed that tourism actors capable of improving marketing mix is able to improve customer satisfaction in tourism industry.peer-reviewe

    This study aims to determine the effect of brand image and product quality variables on repurchase intention through customer satisfaction on consumers who buy Oriflame skincare products at the University of North Sumatra. This type of research used quantitative research with a descriptive approach. In this study, the respondents were 100 students from the University of North Sumatra. Researchers collected data by distributing questionnaires to all respondents in this study. The results of descriptive statistics show that the majority of respondents expressed the perception of agreeing to all questionnaire statements distributed. The first sub-structural research results show that brand image has an effect on customer satisfaction with significance of 0.014 and product quality has an effect on customer satisfaction with significance of 0,000. The results of the second sub-structural research show that brand image influences repurchase intention with a significance of 0,000, product quality influences repurchase intention with a significance of 0.027 and customer satisfaction influences repurchase intention with a significance of 0,000. The path analysis test shows that customer satisfaction is not able to mediate between brand image and repurchase intention. On the other hand, customer satisfaction is able to mediate between product qualities and repurchase intention. JEL: D11; D12; D21  Article visualizations

    Penentuan Rute Pengangkutan Sampah di Kabupaten Batu Bara dengan Jarak Terpendek dan Kapasitas Angkut Terbatas Menggunakan Algoritma Sweep

    Sumber sampah terbesar di Kabupaten Batu Bara adalah pada 10 pasar yang berada di ibukota kecamatan. Sampah tersebut diangkut ke Tempat Pemrosesan Akhir (TPA) melalui beberapa rute dengan kapasitas kendaraan terbatas. Permasalahan dalam penelitian ini belum adanya rute optimal pengangkutan sampah tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan rute pengangkutan sampah yang optimal sehingga total jarak minimum dengan menggunakan algoritma sweep dan kapasitas truk angkut terbatas. Permasalahan ini dapat diselesaikan dengan menerapkan model Capacitated Vehicle Routing Problem (CVRP) menggunakan pendekatan heuristik berdasarkan algoritma sweep. Berdasarkan hasil penyelesaian CVRP menggunakan algoritma sweep, diperoleh 11 rute pengangkutan sampah yang optimal dengan total jarak tempuh sebesar 987,4 km dan jumlah truk yang dioperasikan cukup 18 unit dari 20 unit truk yang tersedia

    PT Perkebunan Nusantara IV adalah Perusahaan yang bergerak dalam bidang perkebunan dengan komoditas antara lain sawit, teh, kakao, karet, dan kina. Dalam hal ini penulis mengkhususkan penelitian pada hasil produksi teh olahan di salah satu pabrik teh yang berlokasi di Bah Butong. Penelitian ini membahas pengoptimalan produksi teh dengan menggunakan metode goal programming. Ada 15 jenis produk yang dihasilkan oleh Pabrik Teh Bah Butong, tetapi hanya 13 yang diproduksi pada tahun 2011 dan yang dipilih sebanyak 8 produk yang bersaing di pasar sebagai objek penelitian. Dari hasil penelitian dengan penerapan metode goal programming ini diperoleh deviasi total pendapatan langsung sebesar Rp 435.845.776,00 atau 0,74 % melebihi target yang diramalkan, jumlah produksi untuk 7 produk, antara lain BOP, BOP.F, PF, DUST, BT.II, FAN.II, RBO sesuai dengan target dan satu produk tipe PF.II yang mengalami penyimpangan, dan jumlah waktu kerja melampaui target yang ditetapkan sehingga perlu menambah jam kerja

    The Influence of Auditor Independence, The Quality of Village Human Resources on The Audit Quality of Village Funds with the Role of Community as a Moderation Variable

    The effectiveness of using village funds, which still has not had an overall impact on improving the welfare of village communities and the rise of cases of misuse of village funds, has made researchers focus on the audit quality of village funds. This research analyzed internal and external factors influencing the quality of village fund audits using a quantitative approach. The auditor independence variable is the internal factor of the auditor, and the external factor is the quality of human resources (HR) of village officials and the role of the community as a moderating variable. The research population is internal auditors in the district governments of North Sumatra Province. The data were obtained from the questionnaire results through the Google form and processed using the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) technique with the Partial Least Square (PLS) method using SmartPLS software. The results of this study indicate that the Independence of the auditor directly and indirectly through the moderation of the community's role has a positive and significant effect on the audit quality of village funds. The community's role also strengthens the auditor's Independence in improving the audit quality of village funds. Auditor independence is an attitude that is owned and applied in carrying out village fund audit tasks. Auditors face various conditions and situations of different auditees, organizational support, leadership firmness, and work pressure so that consistency in their attitude of Independence through the quality output of village fund audits will determine the success of managing village funds appropriately on target. The quality of village apparatus human resources directly has a negative effect on the quality of village fund audits. Furthermore, the results of moderating the role of the community with the quality of village apparatus human resources have a positive and insignificant effect on the quality of village fund audits.
