Run For Your Life
1. Produce an EP called “5”, the number five has a lot of significance in my life and also is the number associated with communication, and I would like to communicate through music. 2. Create a Mobile App/ Running campaign “Run for your life”. This goal is related to the song “Run Chata Run” a very special song to me because I created it while running next to my friend Chata, whose story is related in the lyrics.https://remix.berklee.edu/graduate-studies-production-technology/1052/thumbnail.jp
Nariai--Bertotti--Robinson spacetimes as a building material for one-way wormholes with horizons, but without singularity
We discuss the problem of wormholes from the viewpoint of gluing together two
Reissner--Nordstr\"om-type universes while putting between them a segment of
the Nariai-type world (in both cases there are also present electromagnetic
fields as well as the cosmological constant). Such a toy wormhole represents an
example of one-way topological communication free from causal paradoxes, though
involving a travel to next spacetime sheet since one has to cross at least a
pair of horizons through which the spacetimes' junction occurs. We also
consider the use of thin shells in these constructions. Such a ``material'' for
wormholes we choose taking into account specific properties of the
Nariai--Bertotti--Robinson spacetimes.Comment: 5 pages, a talk delivered at the 11th Marcel Grossmann Meeting (2006
Transborder Testimonios of Language Learning and Socialization
This qualitative study utilizes a Chicana/Latina feminist lens and the Latin American tradition of Testimonio to explore Spanish-speaking immigrants’ experiences of migration, language learning and socialization, paying close attention to the ways in which the multilayered intersections of identity, race, class, gender, nationality, language, citizenship and power shape these experiences. In the context of a grassroots English as a Second Language class, testimonios are elicited through multimodal data collection methods, including visual, oral and written forms. Critical perspectives of second language learning and second language socialization research in bilingual contexts provide a multidisciplinary framework for this study, bridging conceptual parallels between these distinct paradigms. Outcomes of the analysis illuminate our understandings of the complex demands adult immigrants face while learning to navigate and adopt new linguistic systems and to perform unfamiliar socially and culturally sanctioned norms and behaviors. In the midst of an increasingly anti-immigrant rhetoric and multiple sites of oppression stemming from racist social systems and institutions that permeate everyday life, Testimonios as personal accounts, validate knowledge constructed through lived experiences, and assist in the expression of collective marginalization as well as alternative narratives of resistance. Embedded in Chicana and Latin American decolonial feminist thought, this dissertation approaches research as social activism and transformation to interrupt the silence imposed on disenfranchised immigrants so that their stories inform and educate grassroots community organizers, educators, language scholars, and policy makers
Spectroscopic imaging of novel correlated electronic phases
This works studies novel emergent quantum phases. Here, the local electronic structure of a spin-orbit assisted Mott insulator, Sr₂IrO₄ and of the member of the iron-based superconductors (IBS), Li doped NaFeAs, are investigated using low-temperature scanning tunnelling microscopy and spectroscopy (STM/S)
Between metals and treads: an archaeometric approach to metallic artefacts from yaguachi chiefdom burials (Guayas Basin, Ecuador)
ABSTRACT:
The Yaguachi chiefdom was one of the largest groups in the region prior and during
Spanish contact. The Yaguachi polity was part of the Milagro-Quevedo archaeological culture,
who occupied the entire Guayas Basin in the central and southwestern Ecuador between
Guayaquil and the Andes during the Integration (800-1400 CE) and early Hispanic Period. This
was a highly organized society with a complex political and social organization, evidence of
long distance trade, metal jewelry, mound construction and chimney burials. During
excavations on the lower Guayas Basin, the ‘Vuelta Larga’ burial mounds were identified.
Some of these burials contained offerings of various types, including local goods like pottery,
and foreign ones like metal artefacts, shell beads and obsidian. This research will attempt to
determine the metal artefacts’ composition, the relation between artefact’s composition,
color and class, possible connection to other sites or cultures of the Andes and the source of
the fibers attached to some of the artefacts, through the use non-destructive analytical
techniques: stereomicroscopy, X-ray fluorescence spectrometry, scanning electron
microscopy and environmental SEM. From these analyses, connections to other sites might
be drawn based on artefacts’ metallic composition and manufacturing technique

Regularization policies in informal neighborhoods origin: Argentina, Brasil and Mexico
In this paper we address the urban regularization policies implemented in Latin America in recent decades, comparing the experience in three countries in the region: Argentina, Brazil and Mexico. To this end, a brief review of the development of informal habitat and of the housing situation in the selected countries a carried out. Subsequently, we analyze the current urban regulations and the regularization policies implemented at the federal level. Finally, we contrast the different managerial and interjurisdictional coordination models existing in each of the countries.Fil: Di Virgilio, Maria Mercedes.
