Acceleration of Image Processing in GP-GPU Using OpenCl
This work studies the possibility of obtaining the highest quality image from a video that contains a constant shot on one thing and proposes and creates a program that processes a video in this way. This work provides a description of several methods for improving the quality of images and algorithms on which some of these methods depend. The work also focuses on the usage of OpenCL standard. In this work there is a proposed and described program that processes the video and creates from it one better quality picture. At the end of this work there are outlined some possible continuations of this work.
Translation of C Expressions to DIMACS Format
Dále obsahuje popis konjunktivnĂ normálnĂ formy a popis formátu DIMACS. Následuje návrh vytvoĹ™enĂ programu pro uskuÂteÄŤnÄ›nĂ pĹ™evodu z vĂ˝razu v programovacĂm jazyce C do formátu DIMACS a popis realizace programu provádÄ›jĂcĂ tento pĹ™evod. This work focuses on proposition of transfer of the expressions entered in the C proÂgramming language into DIMACS format and creation of program in programming language C++ making this transfer. This work contains a description of the C proÂgramming language and its operators. It also conÂtains a description of the conjunctive normal form and a descriÂption of the DIMACS format. Following is a proposal for a program for the transfer of expression in the C programming language to the DIMACS format and description of realiÂzation of program performing this transfer.
Feature subset selection in large dimensionality domains
Searching for an optimal feature subset from a high dimensional feature space is known to be an NP-complete problem. We present a hybrid algorithm, SAGA, for this task. SAGA combines the ability to avoid being trapped in a local minimum of Simulated Annealing with the very high rate of convergence of the crossover operator of Genetic Algorithms, the strong local search ability of greedy algorithms and the high computational efficiency of Generalized Regression Neural Networks. We compare the performance over time of SAGA and well-known algorithms on synthetic and real datasets. The results show that SAGA outperforms existing algorithms

Improved 3-Phase Current Transducer
We propose improved contactless DC/AC current transducer for 3-phase current lines based on 8 integrated fluxgate sensors. Using proper processing we ideally achieve a complete suppression of external homogeneous fields, and field gradients up to the 4th order. The sensitivity to external currents (crosstalk) is improved 15-times compared to [1]. The usage of micro fluxgate sensors instead of magnetoresistive sensors improves the temperature stability: the sensitivity temperature coefficient was reduced from 0.3%/K to 50 ppm/K and offset drift was reduced from 50 mA/K to 1 mA/K
Thomas Berry Award
Mission and History
The mission of the Thomas Berry Foundation is to carry out the Great Work of Thomas in enhancing the flourishing of the Earth community. The Berry Foundation is dedicated to supporting the Yale Forum on Religion and Ecology and the Journey of the Universe project.
Created in 1998 by Thomas Berry, Mary Evelyn Tucker, John Grim, Martin Kaplan, and Thomas\u27 sister, Margaret Berry, the Foundation has promoted Thomas’ ideas through publishing his essays and overseeing translations, initiating an archive at Harvard, and organizing the Thomas Berry Award and Lecture.
Thomas Berry Award
This Award was inaugurated in 1999 in Washington DC when the Center for Respect of Life and Environment (CRLE) at the Humane Society of the United States created the award to honor Berry’s legacy. Since then it has been presented to selected individuals who have modeled the “great work” in their teaching, writing, or public service. The Yale Forum on Religion and Ecology partnered with CRLE in presenting the Award from its early stages and now sponsors the Award
