Plataforma e-commerce Magento, millora de la importació massiva de productes
Aquest projecte tracta de la millora de l'actual sistema d'importació que disposa Magento. Actualment per importar els productes a una botiga Magento es necessita treballar amb un fitxer csv on s'introdueix una gran quantitat de dades i requereix una gran quantitat de temps i esforç per part de l'empresa. Per millorar l'actual sistema, es proposa crear una integració entre Magento i Google Docs, fent que tots els productes que es vulguin importar s'introdueixin en un full de càlcul Google Docs i s'importin a la botiga Magento.Este proyecto trata de la mejora del actual sistema de importación que contiene Magento. En la actualidad, para importar los productos a una tienda Magento se requiere trabajar con un fichero csv donde se introducen grandes cantidades de datos y requiere una gran cantidad de tiempo y esfuerzo por parte de la empresa. Para mejorar dicho sistema, se propone la creación de una integración entre Magento y Google Docs, haciendo que todos los productos que se desee importar se introduzcan en una hoja de cálculo Google Docs y se importen a la tienda Magento.This project is about improving Magento's present importation system. Nowadays, to import products to a Magento store, it is necessary to work with a CSV file which contains a huge amount of data and it takes a lot of time and effort for the company. To improve the present system, it is proposed an integration between Magento and Google Docs. Thus, all products that are wished to import, will be introduced on a Google Docs calculus sheet and imported to Magento store
Strategic Planning for E-Government: A Customer Value Based Model
This paper looks at the implementation of a new customer value based model in e-government. Firstly the paper reviews the issues of e-government and the drive towards customer centric organisations in the context of a government agency. A model of change is reviewed and extended to the development of a virtual organisation model which can be applied along the customer value chain across multiple service organisations. A case study is used to demonstrate how the concept of a virtual organisation as a value-alliance model can improve customer service within a Government agency. Finally, it examines how the Aboriginal Affairs Department, a Western Australian Government agency is implementing this model as a virtual organisation and the implications of this model for the management of change in a developing e-community
Regional Climate Trends and Scenarios for the U.S. National Climate Assessment Part 4. Climate of the U.S. Great Plains
This document is one of series of regional climate descriptions designed to provide input that can be used in the development of the National Climate Assessment (NCA). As part of a sustained assessment approach, it is intended that these documents will be updated as new and well-vetted model results are available and as new climate scenario needs become clear. It is also hoped that these documents (and associated data and resources) are of direct benefit to decision makers and communities seeking to use this information in developing adaptation plans.
There are nine reports in this series, one each for eight regions defined by the NCA, and one for the contiguous U.S. The eight NCA regions are the Northeast, Southeast, Midwest, Great Plains, Northwest, Southwest, Alaska, and Hawai‘i/Pacific Islands.
These documents include a description of the observed historical climate conditions for each region and a set of climate scenarios as plausible futures – these components are described in more detail below.
While the datasets and simulations in these regional climate documents are not, by themselves, new, (they have been previously published in various sources), these documents represent a more complete and targeted synthesis of historical and plausible future climate conditions around the specific regions of the NCA.
There are two components of these descriptions. One component is a description of the historical climate conditions in the region. The other component is a description of the climate conditions associated with two future pathways of greenhouse gas emissions
Mindfulness predicts less texting while driving among young adults: Examining attention- and emotion-regulation motives as potential mediators.
Many young adult drivers read and send text messages while driving despite clear safety risks. Understanding predictors of texting-while-driving may help to indentify relevant targets for interventions to reduce this dangerous behavior. The present study examined whether individual differences in mindfulness is associated with texting-while-driving in a sample of young-adult drivers. Using path analysis, we tested whether this relationship would be mediated by the degree to which individuals use text-messaging as a means of reducing unpleasant emotions (emotion-regulation motives) and the degree to which individuals limit texting in order to focus on present-moment experiences (attention-regulation motives). Individuals lower in mindfulness reported more frequent texting-while-driving and this relationship appeared to be mediated primarily by emotion-regulation motives. Results may help inform the development of mindfulness-based interventions to prevent texting-while-driving
Autonomous and Lagrangian ocean observations for Atlantic tropical cyclone studies and forecasts

The definitive version was published in Oceanography 30, no. 2 (2017): 92–103, doi:10.5670/oceanog.2017.227.The tropical Atlantic basin is one of seven global regions where tropical cyclones (TCs) commonly originate, intensify, and affect highly populated coastal areas. Under appropriate atmospheric conditions, TC intensification can be linked to upper-ocean properties. Errors in Atlantic TC intensification forecasts have not been significantly reduced during the last 25 years. The combined use of in situ and satellite observations, particularly of temperature and salinity ahead of TCs, has the potential to improve the representation of the ocean, more accurately initialize hurricane intensity forecast models, and identify areas where TCs may intensify. However, a sustained in situ ocean observing system in the tropical North Atlantic Ocean and Caribbean Sea dedicated to measuring subsurface temperature, salinity, and density fields in support of TC intensity studies and forecasts has yet to be designed and implemented. Autonomous and Lagrangian platforms and sensors offer cost-effective opportunities to accomplish this objective. Here, we highlight recent efforts to use autonomous platforms and sensors, including surface drifters, profiling floats, underwater gliders, and dropsondes, to better understand air-sea processes during high-wind events, particularly those geared toward improving hurricane intensity forecasts. Real-time data availability is key for assimilation into numerical weather forecast models.The NOAA/AOML component of this work was originally

Hierarchical Event Descriptor library schema for EEG data annotation
Standardizing terminology to describe electrophysiological events can improve
both clinical care and computational research. Sharing data enriched by such
standardized terminology can support advances in neuroscientific data
exploration, from single-subject to mega-analysis. Machine readability of
electrophysiological event annotations is essential for performing such
analyses efficiently across software tools and packages. Hierarchical Event
Descriptors (HED) provide a framework for describing events in neuroscience
experiments. HED library schemas extend the standard HED schema vocabulary to
include specialized vocabularies, such as standardized clinical terms for
electrophysiological events. The Standardized Computer-based Organized
Reporting of EEG (SCORE) defines terms for annotating EEG events, including
artifacts. This study makes SCORE machine-readable by incorporating it into a
HED library schema. We demonstrate the use of the HED-SCORE library schema to
annotate events in example EEG data stored in Brain Imaging Data Structure
(BIDS) format. Clinicians and researchers worldwide can now use the HED-SCORE
library schema to annotate and then compute on electrophysiological data

SSWAP: A Simple Semantic Web Architecture and Protocol for semantic web services
<p>Abstract</p> <p>Background</p> <p>SSWAP (<b>S</b>imple <b>S</b>emantic <b>W</b>eb <b>A</b>rchitecture and <b>P</b>rotocol; pronounced "swap") is an architecture, protocol, and platform for using reasoning to semantically integrate heterogeneous disparate data and services on the web. SSWAP was developed as a hybrid semantic web services technology to overcome limitations found in both pure web service technologies and pure semantic web technologies.</p> <p>Results</p> <p>There are currently over 2400 resources published in SSWAP. Approximately two dozen are custom-written services for QTL (Quantitative Trait Loci) and mapping data for legumes and grasses (grains). The remaining are wrappers to Nucleic Acids Research Database and Web Server entries. As an architecture, SSWAP establishes how clients (users of data, services, and ontologies), providers (suppliers of data, services, and ontologies), and discovery servers (semantic search engines) interact to allow for the description, querying, discovery, invocation, and response of semantic web services. As a protocol, SSWAP provides the vocabulary and semantics to allow clients, providers, and discovery servers to engage in semantic web services. The protocol is based on the W3C-sanctioned first-order description logic language OWL DL. As an open source platform, a discovery server running at <url>http://sswap.info</url> (as in to "swap info") uses the description logic reasoner Pellet to integrate semantic resources. The platform hosts an interactive guide to the protocol at <url>http://sswap.info/protocol.jsp</url>, developer tools at <url>http://sswap.info/developer.jsp</url>, and a portal to third-party ontologies at <url>http://sswapmeet.sswap.info</url> (a "swap meet").</p> <p>Conclusion</p> <p>SSWAP addresses the three basic requirements of a semantic web services architecture (<it>i.e</it>., a common syntax, shared semantic, and semantic discovery) while addressing three technology limitations common in distributed service systems: <it>i.e</it>., <it>i</it>) the fatal mutability of traditional interfaces, <it>ii</it>) the rigidity and fragility of static subsumption hierarchies, and <it>iii</it>) the confounding of content, structure, and presentation. SSWAP is novel by establishing the concept of a canonical yet mutable OWL DL graph that allows data and service providers to describe their resources, to allow discovery servers to offer semantically rich search engines, to allow clients to discover and invoke those resources, and to allow providers to respond with semantically tagged data. SSWAP allows for a mix-and-match of terms from both new and legacy third-party ontologies in these graphs.</p
The Soft Power of Anglia: British Cold War Cultural Diplomacy in the USSR
This article contributes to the growing literature on the cultural Cold War through an exploration of the British national projection magazine Anglia, produced by the Foreign Office for distribution in the USSR from 1962 to 1992. As well as drawing attention to the significance of national magazines in general, the article sheds light on Britain's distinctive approach to propaganda and cultural diplomacy during the Cold War. It considers why the magazine was set up and endured for so long, despite considerable reservations about its value. It examines how Britain was projected in a manner that accorded with British understandings about the need for ‘subtle’ propaganda. Finally, it addresses the question of the magazine's impact in the USSR
(Re) defining salesperson motivation: current status, main challenges, and research directions
The construct of motivation is one of the central themes in selling and sales management research. Yet, to-date no review article exists that surveys the construct (both from an extrinsic and intrinsic motivation context), critically evaluates its current status, examines various key challenges apparent from the extant research, and suggests new research opportunities based on a thorough review of past work. The authors explore how motivation is defined, major theories underpinning motivation, how motivation has historically been measured, and key methodologies used over time. In addition, attention is given to principal drivers and outcomes of salesperson motivation. A summarizing appendix of key articles in salesperson motivation is provided
Small molecule epigenetic screen identifies novel EZH2 and HDAC inhibitors that target glioblastoma brain tumor-initiating cells
Glioblastoma (GBM) is the most lethal and aggressive adult brain tumor, requiring the development of efficacious therapeutics. Towards this goal, we screened five genetically distinct patient-derived brain-tumor initiating cell lines (BTIC) with a unique collection of small molecule epigenetic modulators from the Structural Genomics Consortium (SGC). We identified multiple hits that inhibited the growth of BTICs in vitro, and further evaluated the therapeutic potential of EZH2 and HDAC inhibitors due to the high relevance of these targets for GBM. We found that the novel SAM-competitive EZH2 inhibitor UNC1999 exhibited low micromolar cytotoxicity in vitro on a diverse collection of BTIC lines, synergized with dexamethasone (DEX) and suppressed tumor growth in vivo in combination with DEX. In addition, a unique brain-penetrant class I HDAC inhibitor exhibited cytotoxicity in vitro on a panel of BTIC lines and extended survival in combination with TMZ in an orthotopic BTIC model in vivo. Finally, a combination of EZH2 and HDAC inhibitors demonstrated synergy in vitro by augmenting apoptosis and increasing DNA damage. Our findings identify key epigenetic modulators in GBM that regulate BTIC growth and survival and highlight promising combination therapies
