Penerapan Algoritma K-Means untuk Analisis Prestasi Akademik Mahasiswa Fakultas Ilmu Komputer Universitas Klabat
Universitas Klabat (UNKLAB) adalah salah satu perguruan tinggi swasta yang berada dibawah naungan organisasi Gereja Masehi Advent Hari Ketujuh, yang bertempat di Airmadidi, Sulawesi Utara. Universitas Klabat termasuk universitas yang sangat dikenal di Sulawesi utara, yang di dalamnya memiliki 1 program pascasarjana, 6 fakultas dan 1 akademik. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pencapaian prestasi mahasiswa fakultas ilmu komputer yang berada pada tingkat 4 yang memiliki 52 mahasiswa yang aktif dengan memanfaatkan metode data mining. Berdasarkan data mahasiswa fakultas ilmu computer, penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mencari tahu berapa banyak mahasiswa yang memiliki prestasi akademik dibidang databases, networking dan programming dengan menggunakan algoritma data mining. Penelitian ini menggunakan algoritma K-Means dalam menganalisis prestasi akademik mahasiswa fakultas llmu komputer di Universitas Klabat. Data yang dianalisis dikelompokan terlebih dahulu agar terstruktur serta data yang dianalisis memiliki kejelasan hasil yang lebih dalam.Hasil yang didapat dari 52 mahasiswa tersebut adalah, 33% mahasiswa memiliki nilai prestasi di bidang database, 42% mahasiswa pada bidang networking dan 25% mahasiswa di bidang programming
Motivational Interviewing Effect on Medication Adherence and Other Outcomes in People with Schizophrenia (PwS): A Review
Adherence will have an impact on therapy because schizophrenia is a chronic mental disorder that requires long-term treatment. One strategy to improve adherence to medications is motivational interviewing (MI), although more study is needed to see how well it works and whether it has any other effects on schizophrenia. The study aimed to assess the effectiveness of motivational interviews in improving adherence to medications and other positive impacts on PwS. A literature review using PubMed, Science Direct, Springerlink, and google scholar databases from 2010-2023 focused on keywords adherence, schizophrenia, and motivational interviewing. The results showed that MI has inconsistencies in their effect on improving medication adherence in PwS, but some studies found evidence of an association between MI and other outcomes, such as improvement in psychotic symptoms and decreased hospitalisation rates. Differences in patient characteristics and MI interventions in each study, the to perform MI techniques, and the trusting relationship built by the counsellor with the patient will affect the impact of MI on adherence. MI showed inconsistencies in improving medication adherence in people with schizophrenia. Several factors will affect the effectiveness of MI. However, MI also has the potential to improve psychosis symptoms and reduce hospitalisation rates, although more research is needed
Games used with serious purposes: a systematic review of interventions in patients with cerebral palsy
The purpose of the present systematic review was to examine extant research regarding the role of games used seriously in interventions with individuals with cerebral palsy. Therefore, PubMed, PsyINFO, Web of Science, Scopus, and IEEE databases were used. Search terms included: "serious games" OR "online games" OR "video games" OR "videogame" OR "game based" OR "game" AND "intervention" AND "cerebral palsy." After the full reading and quality assessment of the papers, 16 studies met the inclusion criteria. The majority of the studies reported high levels of compliance, motivation, and engagement with game-based interventions both at home and at the clinical setting intervention. Regarding the effectiveness of the use of games, the results of the studies show both positive and negative results regarding their effectiveness. The efficacy was reported to motor function (i.e., improvements in the arm function, hand coordination, functional mobility, balance and gait function, postural control, upper-limbs function) and physical activity. Findings of this review suggest that games are used as a complement to conventional therapies and not as a substitute. Practitioners often struggle to get their patients to complete the assigned homework tasks, as patients display low motivation to engage in prescribed exercises. Research on the Stability of a Rabbit Dry Eye Model Induced by Topical Application of the Preservative Benzalkonium Chloride
Dry eye is a common disease worldwide, and animal models are critical for the study of it. At present, there is no research about the stability of the extant animal models, which may have negative implications for previous dry eye studies. In this study, we observed the stability of a rabbit dry eye model induced by the topical benzalkonium chloride (BAC) and determined the valid time of this model.). Decreased levels of mucin-5 subtype AC (MUC5AC), along with histopathological and ultrastructural disorders of the cornea and conjunctiva could be observed in Group BAC-W4 and particularly in Group BAC-W5 until day 21.A stable rabbit dry eye model was induced by topical 0.1% BAC for 5 weeks, and after BAC removal, the signs of dry eye were sustained for 2 weeks (for the mixed type of dry eye) or for at least 3 weeks (for mucin-deficient dry eye)
Aurora kinases are expressed in medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC) and their inhibition suppresses in vitro growth and tumorigenicity of the MTC derived cell line TT
International audienceBACKGROUND: The Aurora kinase family members, Aurora-A, -B and -C, are involved in the regulation of mitosis, and alterations in their expression are associated with cell malignant transformation. To date no information on the expression of these proteins in medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC) are available. We here investigated the expression of the Aurora kinases in human MTC tissues and their potential use as therapeutic targets. METHODS: The expression of the Aurora kinases in 26 MTC tissues at different TNM stages was analyzed at the mRNA level by quantitative RT-PCR. We then evaluated the effects of the Aurora kinase inhibitor MK-0457 on the MTC derived TT cell line proliferation, apoptosis, soft agar colony formation, cell cycle and ploidy. RESULTS: The results showed the absence of correlation between tumor tissue levels of any Aurora kinase and tumor stage indicating the lack of prognostic value for these proteins. Treatment with MK-0457 inhibited TT cell proliferation in a time- and dose-dependent manner with IC50 = 49.8 ± 6.6 nM, as well as Aurora kinases phosphorylation of substrates relevant to the mitotic progression. Time-lapse experiments demonstrated that MK-0457-treated cells entered mitosis but were unable to complete it. Cytofluorimetric analysis confirmed that MK-0457 induced accumulation of cells with ≥ 4N DNA content without inducing apoptosis. Finally, MK-0457 prevented the capability of the TT cells to form colonies in soft agar. CONCLUSIONS: We demonstrate that Aurora kinases inhibition hampered growth and tumorigenicity of TT cells, suggesting its potential therapeutic value for MTC treatment

Interventions to Improve Medication Adherence in People with Schizophrenia: A Systematic Review
Nonadherence to medications is very common in people with schizophrenia. Numerous methods have been implemented to
improve medication adherence. The study aimed to determine what interventions have been used and to assess the effectiveness of these in improving medication adherence in people with schizophrenia. Two electronic databases (PubMed and Science Direct) and a manual search were used to locate RCT studies that examined interventions in medication adherence for schizophrenia, published between 2011 and 2022. The search was conducted using the terms (schizophrenia OR schizophrenic) AND (interventions OR
adherence therapy) AND (medication adherence OR medication compliance). Sixteen studies were included, and relevant data were extracted and selected. Sixteen studies used interventions that involve family, health professionals (psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, and pharmacists), SMS, and smart electronic reminders. Medication adherence was measured using medication refill records from hospital dispensing records or claim databases, electronic devices, plasma blood concentration, and participant self-reporting. Thirteen out of 15 studies showed significant improvements in adherence compared to routine care. The other three studies did not result in improved medication adherence. Interventions with diverse strategies delivered to individuals with schizophrenia showed the potential to reduce medication non-adherence in people with schizophrenia so that they can be utilized as an alternative to support treatment in people with schizophrenia in addition to antipsychotic medication. In future research strategies, it will be necessary to identify the main problems regarding nonadherence in people with schizophrenia individually and also identify the patient’s perception of medication, illness, and behavior when taking medication in order to determine the next intervention that will be appropriate based on the patient’s needs to improve adherence

Impact of educational interventions in therapy programs for people with schizophrenia (PwS): A systematic review
Not only antipsychotics, but also additional interventions, such as education, are essential in the treatment of individuals with schizophrenia. This study aims to assess the impact of educational interventions within therapy programs for people with schizophrenia (PwS). Eligible studies were identified through searches in two electronic databases, PubMed and Science Direct, as well as a manual search. The search encompassed specific terms, namely ("people with schizophrenia" OR "patients with schizophrenia") AND ("education" OR "knowledge") AND ("medication adherence" OR "medication compliance" OR "medication persistence"). The Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis (PRISMA) guidelines were employed for this systematic review. A team of three reviewers conducted article screening for inclusion and data extraction. The selected studies' quality was assessed using the Cochrane Collaboration's tool for assessing the risk of bias in randomized trials. Out of 666 studies, only seven met the criteria for a full review, spanning the period from 2012 to 2022. Educational interventions for patients can take the form of either a component within a therapy program or a comprehensive psychoeducational program that targets the patient, their family, or caregiver. These interventions are delivered by various healthcare professionals, including therapists, researchers, psychiatrists, and pharmacists. The duration of each intervention varies, ranging from three to eight sessions, with each session lasting approximately 45 to 120 minutes. Educational interventions yield inconsistent outcomes in terms of improving adherence, quality of life, stigma, and insight. However, they demonstrate positive outcomes in cognitive and social functioning as well as knowledge scores. Limitations that influence study outcomes encompass variations in patient characteristics, methodologies, and measurement instruments. In the future, clinicians can utilize these findings as a reference for tailoring educational interventions based on individual patient needs and characteristics within clinical settings</p
