Rhizobacteria Effect on Arsenic Migration and Translocation of Biogenic Elements in Plants

    Get PDF
The study was aimed at the transformation of arsenic compounds in the rhizosphere, its accumulation in plants, P and Si translocation to plants under the influence of Bacillus megaterium var. phosphaticum, and Bacillus mucilaginosus with various forms of As compounds in the soil. The authors describe the maximum effect of Bacillus megaterium var. Phosphaticum strain on As migration, its mobilization and immobilization in the rhizosphere due to arsenic leaching from mineral and difficult-todestroy compounds and its accumulation in plants. The forms of arsenic compounds were isolated from the rhizosphere based on sequential extraction procedures. The features of the inter-element As-P interaction in plants were established. With the intense accumulation of As in the rhizosphere inoculated with rhizobacteria, the intake of phosphorus into plants was not observed, as contrary to Si. The study of As and biogenic elements behavior under the influence of rhizobacteria is of great importance in the development of ecobiotechnologies related to soil remediation and crop production

Замена преднизолона на дексаметазон как способ преодоления резистентности к абиратерону при кастрационно-резистентном раке предстательной железы: клинический случай

Nowadays there are several effective drugs to treat castration-resistant prostate cancer. However, treatment options are still limited. In this regard, overcoming the resistance to the prescribed treatment remains extremely important. One possible way is to replace prednisone with dexamethasone when using abiraterone acetate. There are several studies, including randomized ones, which confirm the rationality of this method. We present a literature review and our own clinical observation, which demonstrates the possibility of repeated long-term (3 years) use of abiraterone acetate after replacing a steroid drug in an intensively pre-treated patient with castration-resistant prostate cancer.

The transformation of the women’s press during the NEP period is examined in the article, attention is paid to the specifics of the functioning of family and household magazines for women, on the pages of which both the reforms and events of the Soviet era and pre-revolutionary values were reflected. The authors strive to identify the role that the “Magazine for Housewives” and “Women’s Magazine” played during the NEP period, supporting the family world in all its diverse social and spiritual manifestations; to clarify the ratio of traditional and innovative journalistic approaches in the formation of family and everyday media discourse. The results of a quantitative and qualitative content analysis of the publications of the “Magazine for Housewives” and “Women’s Magazine” of the NEP period are presented in the article. The novelty of the research is seen in the analysis of the structural, thematic, functional features of women’s magazines of the NEP era. Special attention is paid to the author’s body, including the previously unexplored works of A. S. Voznesensky (real name — Brodsky), who signed his materials with the pseudonym “Ilya Rentz”. It is concluded that non-state women’s editions of family and household orientation appealed to the experience of pre-revolutionary journalism and, discussing the reform of everyday life and family, continued to write about traditional family values

Response of a cold-electron bolometer on thz radiation from a long yba2cu3o7−δ bicrystal josephson junction

The response of the Cold-Electron Bolometers (CEBs), integrated into a 2-D array of dipole antennas, has been measured by irradiation from YBa2Cu3O7−δ (YBCO) 50 \ub5m long Josephson junction into the THz region at frequencies from 0.1 to 0.8 THz. The possibility of controlling the amplitude-frequency characteristic is demonstrated by the external magnetic field in the traveling wave regime of a long Josephson junction. The YBCO junction has been formed on the bicrystal Zr1−xYxO2 (YSZ) substrate by magnetron sputtering and etching of the film. CEBs have been fabricated using an Al multilayer structure by a self-aligned shadow evaporation technique on Si substrate. Both receiver and oscillator have been located inside the same cryostat at 0.3 K and 2.7 K plates, respectively

Microwave photon detection by an Al Josephson junction

An aluminium Josephson junction (JJ), with a critical current suppressed by a factor of three compared with the maximal value calculated from the gap, is experimentally investigated for application as a threshold detector for microwave photons. We present the preliminary results of measurements of the lifetime of the superconducting state and the probability of switching by a 9 GHz external signal. We found an anomalously large lifetime, not described by the Kramers\u27 theory for the escape time over a barrier under the influence of fluctuations. We explain it by the phase diffusion regime, which is evident from the temperature dependence of the switching current histograms. Therefore, phase diffusion allows for a significant improvement of the noise immunity of a device, radically decreasing the dark count rate, but it will also decrease the single-photon sensitivity of the considered threshold detector. Quantization of the switching probability tilt as a function of the signal attenuation for various bias currents through the JJ is observed, which resembles the differentiation between N and N + 1 photon absorption

According to COVID-19 research, the introduction of a self-isolation and quarantine regime is an effective measure to contain the pandemic. The article examines the problem of psychological factors of observing stay-at-home recommendations, among which the main attention is paid to two types of optimism in a pandemic situation: constructive optimism and defensive optimism. It was assumed that they would have the opposite effect on adherence to the self-isolation regime, and the negative effect of defensive optimism would be mediated by a decrease in illness anxiety or fear of infection. To test this hypothesis, a longitudinal study (with an interval of six weeks) was carried out in a sample of 306 students (89% of women) using a life orientation test, the scales of constructive and defensive optimism by Gordeeva et al., and anxiety in a pandemic situation questionnaire by Tkhostov and Rasskazova. The results confirm our hypotheses: people who adhere to the stay-at-home recommendations are characterized by a higher level of constructive optimism, i.e. they believe that their efforts will help prevent infection and spread of the virus. In contrast, people who demonstrate unrealistic or defensive optimism, that is, who believe that the issue of coronavirus is exaggerated, fear infection less and admit that they do not strictly adhere to the requirements of self-isolation. These results indicate that, in addition to dispositional optimism, situation specific constructive and defensive optimism are essential in explaining health behavior, with the latter type of optimism serving as a response to anxiety associated with fear of the disease and its consequences. © 2021 Moscow State University of Psychology and Education.
