Assessment of the use of preliminary concepts test and rubrics in practical learning at university

Comunicació presentada al ICERI 2019 12th annual International Conference of Education, Research and Innovation (Seville, Spain. 11-13 November, 2019).The high number of students and teachers in the laboratory practices of the course Theory of Machines and Mechanisms, shared by several engineering degrees at Universitat Jaume I, makes the teaching planning and evaluation challenging. Some issues were observed in past years, such as differences in the student knowledge of basic concepts, underpreparation before practical classes, poor quality of the written reports, absence of common objective assessment criteria among teachers and low success rate. That led us to the implementation of an action for educational improvement during the academic year 2018-2019. The aim was to improve the students' level of training before attending laboratory practices, to standardize the evaluation among teachers and to involve students in the process of assessment in order to improve learning outcomes and the quality of the reports delivered. The improvement action included, on one side, carrying out an initial evaluation with a diagnostic test. The results of this test were used to estimate the basic knowledge of the students and proposing specific tutorial sessions in order to unify their level of knowledge. This method should increase the students involvement and improve the success while performing the laboratory practices. On the other side, rubrics were created in order to standardize the correction criteria. These rubrics were also made public to the students, before the classes, in an attempt to improve the quality of their reports. In addition, for some of the reports the students were asked to self-assess their own reports following the public rubric. The results indicate that teachers found the rubrics useful for objective and fair evaluation. However, the standard deviation across teachers has not been apparently reduced with respect to the previous year by the use of them, although the differences in the student cohort have to be taken into account. The effect on grades of the factors teacher and session, as well as their interaction, was significant (p<.05) according to the ANOVA tests, as already was prior to the application of the action. It was also found that the student grades in the practical classes did not improved significantly. A low implication in the preparation before classes and a low tutorial attendance were observed in the collective of students, possible explaining in part the discrete improvements obtained. The self-assessment improved the grades on average where it was applied. We concluded that the involvement of both students and teachers is necessary to promote learning quality using these techniques

Our paper is aimed at showing other sports business models, covered with contracts legally "franchise" and its various forms, and with a success based on the binomial sport-profit that perhaps we should consider in the not too distant future, no longer with the model in its purest aspect, but at least with some hybrid between the legal formula described and the current, which allow profit generating the best sporting event, especially by adjusting the sport to new trends and market needs

Franquicia y contratos de distribución en el Anteproyecto de Código Mercantil

La Propuesta de Código mercantil (2013) fue sustituida por el Anteproyecto de Código mercantil (en mayo de 2014) para iniciar su tramitación parlamentaria. Sin ninguna justificación ni explicación, el capítulo referido a los contratos de distribución de la Propuesta ha sido suprimido por completo del texto. Deja de estar prevista de este modo, la regulación jurídica de estos contratos y, en concreto, del contrato de franquicia. Reclamamos esta regulación, como inaplazable, en los términos que la habían recogido los textos pre legislativos (Proyecto de Ley y Propuesta) y teniendo en cuenta la experiencia de otras normas en el entorno comunitario, en los nuevos derechos de otros ordenamientos más modernos y siguiendo las recomendaciones de Unidroit. La autonomía de las partes, fuente de las obligaciones, no puede ser el único marco del contrato de franquicia. Tampoco lo son las reglas generales sobre las obligaciones y contratos y las tuitivas de los derechos de los consumidores. Este contrato entre empresas, con sus normas propias por ello, reclama un texto legal mínimo para el que ofrecemos algunas propuestas

Dual-Band Tunable Recursive Active Filter

This letter presents a novel recursive active filter topology that provides dual-band performance, with independent tuning capability in both bands. The dual-band operation is achieved by using two independent feedback lines. Additionally, linear phase shifters based on left-handed cells are included in these two branches in order to tune the center frequency of both pass bands

Vulnerabilidad en dispositivos Bluetooth

El objetivo de este proyecto es el estudio de las posibles vulnerabilidades que puede tener un teléfono móvil por medio de la tecnología Bluetooth, además del estudio de viabilidad de una herramienta que ayude a vigilar el “medio” Bluetooth para evitar un mal uso del mismo. Hoy en día hay herramientas que realizan esta labor en otro tipo de redes, son los husmeadores o sniffers. Este proyecto abordará el estudio de si se podría realizar un sniffer para Bluetooth sobre un dispositivo móvil que contenga un sistema operativo Symbian. [ABSTRACT] The objective of the project is research about the bad use of the Bluetooth technology, and the research of the viability about any tool that help us to control the Bluetooth technology allowing us to check the right use of this technology. At the moment, there are several tools that make this job in other kind of net (sniffers). This project will tackle the viability about the creation of a sniffer to the Bluetooth, always into the Symbian environment

Las visitas pastorales de los obispos Ramón Torrijos Gómez y Félix Soto Mancera al Seminario Metropolitano San Atón de Badajoz según consta en su archivo

La visita pastoral fue uno de los instrumentos utilizados por la Iglesia para incidir en los fines reformistas surgidos de Trento. Los obispos estaban obligados a realizarla en sus diócesis, aunque era frecuente que se realizasen por los respectivos vicarios. En el presente artículo estudiamos las visitas que los obispos Ramón Torrijos Gómez y Félix Soto Mancera realizaron al Seminario Metropolitano de San Atón de Badajoz, a principios del siglo XX, y que han quedado reflejadas en la documentación conservada en el archivo de la entidad como una prueba testimonial de la importancia que los prelados concedían a este centro formativo de referencia en la provincia de Badajoz.The pastoral visit was one of the instruments used by the church to influence the purposes of Trent reforms were. Review on the Simulation of Cooperative Caching Schemes for MANETs

In this paper, a review of the main simulation parameters utilized to evaluate the performance of cooperative caching schemes in Mobile Ad Hoc Networks is presented. Firstly, a taxonomy of twenty five caching schemes proposed in the literature about Mobile Ad Hoc Networks is defined. Those caching schemes are briefly described in order to illustrate their basis and fundamentals. The review takes into consideration the utilized network simulator, the wireless connection standard, the propagation model and routing protocol, the employed simulation area and number of data servers, the number of mobile devices and their coverage area, the mobility model, the number of documents in the network, the replacement policy and cache size, the mean time between requests, the document popularity distribution, the TTL (Time To Live) of the documents and the simulation time. Those simulation parameters have been compared among the evaluation of the studied cooperative caching schemes in order to obtain the most common utilized values. This work will allow to compare the performance of the proposed cooperative caching schemes using a common simulation environment.Universidad de Málaga.
