The mercantile galleys of Florence in the kingdom of Granada in the XVth century

Florencia desarrolló un sistema estatal de galeras en el siglo XV. El presente artículo analiza su papel en el Reino de Granada, tanto en las órdenes del Consulado del Mar fl orentino como en la documentación privada. Así, se estudian aspectos tan dispares como la inserción de los puertos nazaríes en las líneas de navegación fl orentinas, los fl etes previstos y las noticias sobre la práctica mercantil. Reflexiones en torno al cautiverio y la esclavitud en Málaga a fines de la Edad Media

[ES] Este trabajo recoge las conclusiones alcanzadas en nuestra Tesis Doctoral EscL·vitud y cautiverio en el Reino de Granada a fines de la Edad Media. Málaga (1487-1538). Se analizan las características de la pérdida de la libertad en ambas orillas del Mar de Alborán, distinguiendo entre cautiverio y esclavitud, dos fenómenos de frontera no siempre precisa, pero claramente diferenciados entre sí. Los problemas teóricos y de método son distintos para cada caso, razón por la cual el conocimiento que se tenía de cada uno de ellos se ha sometido a una reflexión crítica a partir de la documentación recopilada, en un intento de profundizar en la comprensión de ambos.[EN] This article contains the conclusions held in our Doctoral Thesis Slavery and captivity in the Kingdom of Granada at the end of the Middle Ages. Málaga (1487-1538). It analyses the characteristics of the loss of freedom in the shores of the Alboran Sea, distinguishing between captivity and slavery, two phenomena whose limits are not always clear, although both of them are without a doubt different. Theoretical and methodological problems are diverse in each case, and thus we have put under critical reflection the knowledge we have from the documentation compiled together, with the aim to go deeply into the comprehensiveness of both of them
