Self-adaptive difference method for the effective solution of computationally complex problems of boundary layer theory

An implicit difference procedure for the solution of equations for a chemically reacting hypersonic boundary layer is described. Difference forms of arbitrary error order in the x and y coordinate plane were used to derive estimates for discretization error. Computational complexity and time were minimized by the use of this difference method and the iteration of the nonlinear boundary layer equations was regulated by discretization error. Children and Implicated Actors Within Social Worlds/Arenas Maps: Reconsidering Situational Analysis From a Childhood Studies Perspective

We discuss situational analysis as an auspicious method for researchers in childhood studies due to its critical-reflexive approach towards power relations, marginalization, and relationalities of collective action—which are topical issues within childhood studies. Especially the position of "implicated actors" (CLARKE & MONTINI, 1993, p.45), a key concept of social worlds/arenas theory, seems conducive towards research about children. However, we also raise concerns about potentially re-marginalizing children in and through research when it is assumed that, as implicated actors, they are not involved in social worlds/arenas and therefore also not involved in social action. We discuss the methodological potentials and pitfalls of social worlds/arenas maps and the use of the concept of implicated actors to analyze children and childhood. We draw from empirical projects and central conceptual debates within childhood studies and focus on three theses: With social worlds/arenas maps 1. researchers are at risk of rendering children invisible; 2. researchers cannot (yet) capture the intragenerational relations of children (as implicated actors); 3. researchers cannot fully account for a relational understanding of children and childhood. Based on these considerations, we suggest how to enable and reconsider the analysis of children and childhood with social worlds/arenas maps using situational analysis.Die Situationsanalyse ist eine vielversprechende Methode für kindheitstheoretische Fragestellungen. Denn der kritisch-reflexive Zugang zu Machtverhältnissen, Marginalisierungen und Relationalitäten kollektiven Handelns lässt sich mit aktuellen Themen der sozialwissenschaftlichen Kindheitsforschung verbinden. Insbesondere die Position der "Implicated Actors" (CLARKE & MONTINI, 1993), ein Schlüsselkonzept der Theorie sozialer Welten und Arenen, erscheint uns ertragreich, um die Situierung von Kindern zu erforschen und Macht und Marginalisierung zu analysieren. Wir geben jedoch eine mögliche Re-Marginalisierung von Kindern durch Forschende zu bedenken, wenn davon ausgegangen wird, dass Implicated Actors nicht in soziale Welten und Arenen und damit in soziales Handeln eingebunden sind. Wir diskutieren die methodischen Chancen und Herausforderungen von Maps sozialer Welten/Arenen und des Konzepts der Implicated Actors innerhalb dieser Maps zur Analyse von Kindern und Kindheit(en). Hierfür greifen wir auf unsere empirischen Projekte und zentrale konzeptionelle Debatten innerhalb der Kindheitsforschung zurück und fokussieren 1. auf die Institutionalisierung von Kindheit, 2. auf intragenerationale Interaktionsprozesse und 3. auf Relationalitäten von Kindern und Kindheiten. Ausgehend von diesen Überlegungen schlagen wir vor, wie die Analyse von Kind, Kindern und Kindheit(en) mit Maps sozialer Welten/Arenen in der Situationsanalyse aus kindheitstheoretischer Perspektive neu gedacht werden kann

„Es wurde mehr als nur ein Elfchen...“. Literarisches Lernen mit Chamisso-Literatur – Lernen im Dialog im universitären Kontext

Der Umgang mit Literatur ist in der Lehramtsausbildung des Faches Deutsch als Zweitsprache von zentraler Bedeutung. Einen besonderen Mehrwert für didaktische Konzeptionen in universitären Veranstaltungen besitzen in diesem Zusammenhang literarische Werke, die eine literarische Hybridität fokussieren. Der vorliegende Beitrag stellte dar, wie literarisches Lernen nach Spinner (2006) am Beispiel der Chamisso-Autorin Uljana Wolf erfolgen kann. Dabei werden die ersten drei Aspekte – Lebendige Vorstellungen entwickeln, Subjektive Involviertheit und genaue Textwahrnehmung miteinander ins Spiel bringen und Sprachliche Gestaltung bewusst wahrnehmen – des literarischen Lernens von Spinner genauer in den Blick genommen, wobei aufgezeigt wird, welche Wirkung die im Text angelegte literarische Hybridität auf die Studierenden hat. Methodisch orientiert sich das vorgestellte Projekt am dialogischen Lernen nach Gallin und Ruf (2014). Die Ergebnisse lassen Rückschlüsse zu, wie Inhalte einer transkulturellen Literaturdidaktik in die Lehramtsausbildung integriert werden können

Rate-Based Transition Systems for Stochastic Process Calculi

A variant of Rate Transition Systems (RTS), proposed by Klin and Sassone, is introduced and used as the basic model for defining stochastic behaviour of processes. The transition relation used in our variant associates to each process, for each action, the set of possible futures paired with a measure indicating their rates. We show how RTS can be used for providing the operational semantics of stochastic extensions of classical formalisms, namely CSP and CCS. We also show that our semantics for stochastic CCS guarantees associativity of parallel composition. Similarly, in contrast with the original definition by Priami, we argue that a semantics for stochastic π-calculus can be provided that guarantees associativity of parallel composition

Hybrid User Forum - An Innovative Approach in RTD

AbstractThe Hybrid Commercial Vehicle (HCV) project works on advanced hybrid electric powertrains for urban buses and trucks. European funded RTD needs to dynamically react to upcoming market demands. Therefore, HCV has established a Hybrid User Forum – bringing together potential users of heavy duty vehicles with hybrid propulsion.The Hybrid User Forum is an independent part of the project – with a neutral organisation and moderation outside the formal project consortium. As the user group for buses have specific conditions for operation (usually under public control), there is a section of the Hybrid User Forum specific to buses. In parallel, the truck section gathers both operators and some public agencies (e.g. from waste collection).One task of the Hybrid User Forum is the analysis of market obstacles. Expectations and – where it exists – practical experience can be compared to the expected outcomes of the HCV project through a series of questionnaires. The needs in terms of vehicle size and performance (e.g. for special operational conditions) can be analysed and also compared with the expected outcomes of the HCV project and in particular with the demonstrators.Both the bus and truck sections have an annual workshop including demonstrations and extensive exchange between users and potential users of hybrid commercial vehicles and HCV representatives. Users can highlight their experience and expectations on technical issues as well as political issues such as policy on climate protection efforts of the authorities.The Hybrid User Forum is very innovative for European RTD projects, stressing the needs for extensive communication, for dynamic market observation and for transparency in the European research arena.www.hybriduserforum.euwww.hcv-project.e
