Avance de los resultados obtenidos mediante datación isotópica de algunos espeleotemas subacuáticos mallorquines

[eng] Speleothems from two coastal caves in Mallorca (Spain) have been dated by means of the 230Th / 234 U method. The results obtained confirm a speleomorphological interpretation previously established by some of the authors. Two of the samples are very close to the limits of these dating techniques (more than 300 Ka) and at the same time the position of both speleothems (at an elevation of aproximately 30 metres above sea level) correlates well with a Paleotirrenian age, according to the speleomorphological interpretation.[cat] Alguns espeleotemes procedents de dues coves costeres de Mallorca han estat datats mitjançant el mètode Th 230 /U 234. Generation of new power processing structures exploiting genetic programming

This paper describes the use of genetic algorithms to generate power processing circuits. In order to speed up the algorithm, the fitness of the circuits is evaluated using an explicit integration method based on the 4th order Adams–Bashforth formula. Different combinations of genetic primitives for the crossover and mutation processes have been tested. The algorithm is demonstrated by generating new structures of voltage multipliers, which specifically focus on energy harvesting systems. These systems require low input voltages, usually under the diode threshold value. The Adams–Bashforth method allows to achieve a simulation time that is about five times faster than that of SPICE-based simulations.This work was partially funded by Spanish government project TEC2015-66878-C3-2-R (MINECO/FEDER, UE)

Stop beating the donkey! A fresh interpretation of conditional donkey sentences

We propose a new approach to conditional donkey sentences that allows us to face successfully the often called proportion problem. The main ingredients of the proposal are van Benthem's generalized quantifier approach to conditionals (van Benthem, 1984), and Barwise's situation semantics (Barwise, 1989). We present some experimental data supporting our proposal
