New records of Neotropical Pentatominae (Heteroptera: Pentatomidae)

The subfamily Pentatominae is the most diverse within Pentatomidae, with about 120 genera and 680 species recorded in the Neotropics. The genera Euschistus Dallas, 1851 and Glyphepomis Berg, 1891 and the species Banasa dolabrata Thomas, 1988, B. peruana Thomas, 1990, B. testacea Thomas, 1990, Glyphepomis setigera Kormilev & Pirán, 1952, and Euschistus taurulus Berg, 1878 are recorded for the first time in Paraguay; and two monotypic genera, Berecynthus Stål, 1862 and Nocheta Rolston, 1980, are recorded for the first time in Bolivia and Ecuador, respectively. Sinopsis de los Acanthosomatidae (Heteroptera) de Argentina

Se realiza una sinopsis de los Acanthosomatidae argentinos, incluyendo una clave de géneros, nuevos registros de distribución geográfica y plantas huésped, e información complementaria. La tribu Blaudusini se registra por primera vez de la Argentina. Actualmente, la familia Acanthosomatidae está representada en Argentina por dos subfamilias, tres tribus, 14 géneros y 20 especies. La mayoría de las especies se encuentran en la Patagonia andina, asociadas con arbustos y árboles nativos del sur de América del Sur, como Nothofagus Blume y Luma A. Gray, y con diversas especies de “frutas finas”.A synopsis of the Argentinean Acanthosomatidae, including a key to genera, new distributional data and host plant records, and complementary information is provided. The tribe Blaudusini is recorded for the first time from Argentina. Currently, the family Acanthosomatidae is represented in Argentina by two subfamilies, three tribes, 14 genera, and 20 species. Most of the species are found in the Andean Patagonia, associated with native trees and shrubs from southern South America, such as Nothofagus Blume and Luma A. Actualización de la distribución de las chinches (Hemiptera: Pentatomidae) de Argentina

Pentatomidae es una de las familias más grandes de Heteroptera, se encuentra en todas las regiones zoogeográficas, aunque las faunas tropical y subtropical son las más diversas. Las colectas a campo realizadas en los últimos años en varias localidades de Argentina permiten actualizar la distribución de las chinches en el país. En esta contribución se registran por primera vez en Argentina los géneros Cataulax Spinola y Grazia Rolston, y las especies Acledra breviscutata Breddin, Banasa peruana Thomas, Banasa dolabrata Thomas, Cataulax froeschneri Grazia, Campos & Becker, Grazia tincta (Distant), Mayrinia variegata (Distant), Mitripus acutus (Dallas) y Tylospilus peruvianus (Horváth). Se proporcionan los caracteres utilizados para la identificación de estos géneros y especies. Además, se amplía la distribución geográfica de otras 27 especies de pentatómidos y se dan a conocer nuevos registros de plantas huésped para Alveostethus pseudopolitus (Ruckes), Antiteuchus mixtus (Fabricius) y Pellaea stictica (Dallas).Pentatomidae is one of the largest families within Heteroptera, and it is represented in all zoogeographical regions, although the tropical and subtropical faunas are the most diverse. The field trips carried out in recent years in several localities in Argentina allow to update the distribution of stink bugs in the country. In this contribution, the genera Cataulax Spinola and Grazia Rolston, and the species Acledra breviscutata Breddin, Banasa peruana Thomas, Banasa dolabrata Thomas, Cataulax froeschneri Grazia, Campos & Becker, Grazia tincta (Distant), Mayrinia variegata (Distant), Mitripus acutus (Dallas), and Tylospilus peruvianus (Horváth), are recorded for the first time from Argentina. The characters used for the identification of these genera and species are provided. El redescubrimiento de <i>Stenogeocoris horvathi</i> Montandon (Heteroptera, Geocoridae) en Argentina

Stenogeocoris Montandon, 1913 was described to include S. horvathi based in one specimen from Córdoba Province, Argentina. The type specimen is lost and there are no records or additional material since the Montandon’s description; thus, the identity of this taxon has remained uncertain until now. In this contribution, we redescribe the genus Stenogeocoris and the species S. horvathi, based on male and female specimens, including characters from the male genitalia, and compare Stenogeocoris with the other Neotropical genera.Stenogeocoris Montandon, 1913 fue descripto para incluir a S. horvathi basado en un espécimen de Córdoba, Argentina. El ejemplar tipo está perdido y no hay registros o material adicional desde la descripción de Montandon. Por lo tanto, la identidad de este taxón ha permanecido incierta hasta ahora. En esta contribución, se redescribe el género Stenogeocoris y la especie S. horvathi, basado en especímenes macho y hembra e incluyendo caracteres de la genitalia del macho. Redescription of Rhytidodus decimusquartus (Hemiptera: Cicadellidae: Idiocerinae) and new distributional records from Argentina

Rhytidodus decimusquartus (Schrank) es el único representante de la subfamilia Idiocerinae de la Argentina y habita sobre “álamos” en la región oeste de las provincias de Mendoza, Neuquén y Río Negro. En esta contribución se provee una redescripción morfológica detallada de la especie para facilitar su identificación. Algunos caracteres de la genitalia femenina son descritos por primera vez. Adicionalmente se dan a conocer nuevos registros del sudeste del país.Rhytidodus decimusquartus (Schrank) is the only representative of the subfamily Idiocerinae in Argentina, which inhabits on “poplars” in the western part of Mendoza, Neuquén and Río Negro provinces. In this contribution, we provide a detailed morphological redescription of this species for easy identification from material collected in Argentina; some characters of the female genitalia are described for the first time. Additionally, new records from the southeastern region of this country are provided

Jocezia, a new Carpocorini genus from the Neotropics (Heteroptera: Pentatomidae: Pentatominae)

Carpocorini is the largest tribe of Pentatominae, containing 127 genera and more than 500 species distributed worldwide.A new genus, Jocezia n. gen., and a new species, Jocezia inusitata n. sp., from Argentina are described and illustrated.The new genus is included in the Hypatropis group, together with the genera Hypatropis, Amauromelpia, Luridocimexand Stysiana, and characterized by the head in lateral view with the mandibular plates in a higher level than clypeus andthe absence of parameres.
