The Effects of Active Luminous Road Markings Solutions on Simulated Driving Performance: an Experimental Study
openDriving at night or in hazardous weather could be risky if artificial lighting is inadequate or insufficient, especially when engaging curves. Innovative solutions, like Active Luminous Road Markings (ALRMs), might assist drivers and improve road safety. However, international road regulations lack consistent guidelines for ALRMs’ lighting colors and designs. We assessed different ALRMs solutions on 27 young adult drivers negotiating curves in simulated scenarios. We manipulated ALRMs appearance (color: green, red, and unlit), size (width: conventional and wide), and road geometry (curve direction: left and right and radius: 120m and 440m). After the driving simulation, participants completed a video-based perception task rating their perceived levels of risk, speed estimation, valence and arousal. The lateral position was significantly affected by ALRMs features, resulting in changes in the driving trajectory toward the right side of the vehicle’s lane in response to color, width, and curve radius. Green ALRMs showed higher variability for vehicle position, indicating reduced vehicle control. Curve radii also affected driving behavior, with narrower curves leading to reduced speeds. Subjective measures revealed that green ALRMs were perceived as brighter but less comfortable. Furthermore, curve radius significantly influenced arousal and speed estimates, with narrower curves eliciting lower activation and slower speed perception. Our study might offer valuable information that transportation engineers, road designers, and transportation psychologists can use to implement smart road technologies and improve road safety when designing new traffic lighting solutions
Identifying Transfer of Care Gaps: Electronic Health Record Capture of Perioperative Handoff Communications
Transitions in patient care are held together by interdisciplinary handoff communications intended to coordinate the patient\u27s ongoing care requirements. Patients with complexity in care encumber the transfer of care process requiring a higher level of care coordination between the interdisciplinary team (Coleman, 2003; Naylor et al., 2004). While the literature is abundant on the characteristics and quality of handoff communications, it is limited on the requirements of what data is necessary for ongoing care following transfer communications (Galatzan & Carrington, 2018). This dissertation explores the verbal information transferred during Operating Room (OR) to Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) nursing handoff communications and whether the data is captured in the electronic health record (EHR) to represent the information critical to ongoing patient care and care planning. the study builds on the Kennedy Integrated Theoretical Framework (KITF) (Kennedy, 2012) integrating cognition theory, patterns of knowledge theory, and clinical communication space theory to support the human-technology characteristics within perioperative handoffs. Evidence of wisdom was present in the KITF in addition to elements of non-verbal communication patterns emerging from shared common ground contributed to the framework\u27s expansion. to understand the contributions of the perioperative nursing interface terminology, the Perioperative Nursing Data Set (PNDS), makes to postsurgical care transitions, the study examines nursing diagnoses, interventions, interim outcomes and goals relationships to the handoff data communicated between OR and PACU Registered Nurses. Study findings revealed a complex fragmented process of verbal communications and electronic documentation for the handoff process. While the EHR is prominent in data procurement for the handoff process, the design of handoff artifacts (e.g., paper, electronic) significantly impact the value of information received. Incomplete handoff tools or missing EHR data adds to a cycle of information decay while contributing to increase cognitive load and potentiating opportunities for information and knowledge loss. the absence of nursing diagnoses in the automation of the PNDS challenges the integrity of the language within the documentation platform and raises considerations for hierarchical representation within interface terminologies. This study reinforces literature to reconsider user requirements in the design and functionality of healthcare information technology (HIT) to enable data and information flow and preserve knowledge development. the inclusion of mobile technology, cognitive support aids including clinical decision support tools, and other HIT will further enable the effectiveness of transfer communication, knowledge development, and the safety of ongoing patient care

RELAÇÕES PESO-COMPRIMENTO E COMPRIMENTO-COMPRIMENTO PARA 37 ESPÉCIES DE PEIXES DEMERSAIS DO CANAL PRINCIPAL DO RIO MARAPANIM, COSTA NORDESTE DO ESTADO DO PARÁ, BRASIL
Length-length and weight-length relationships are presented for 37 demersal fish species caught in the main channel of the Marapanim River. The mean allometric coefficient (b) in the weight-length relationship (W = aLb) was 3.04 (±0.32). Positive allometry was predominant (15 species, 42.1%), followed by isometry (13 species, 34.2%), and negative allometry (9 species, 23.7%). The present study represents the first reference of length-length relationships for the northern coast of Brazil. Keywords: Demersal fishes; allometric coefficient; Marapanim; northern coast of Brazil.
Tax evasion studies tend to focus on the taxpayer as the only subjects on which induce changes for improvements in tax revenues. However, recent studies indicate that State ́s behavior determines the actions of individuals. If the State is conceived as a corrupt institution that manages the resources inefficiently, taxpayers punish with avoidance and find easy justification to his bad fiscal behavior. In this scheme, evasion does not impact on the morale of individuals or affect their reputation, and finding solutions becomes difficult. This paper analyzes the avoidance as a dynamic ‘tax relationship’ between the State and its citizens with shared responsibilities where only simultaneous changes in both actors will reduce informality.
ESTIMATES OF ANNUAL FOOD CONSUMPTION/BIOMASS RATIO (Q/B) FROM THE FISH FAUNA OF A MANGROVE ESTUARY IN NORTH BRAZIL
To contribute to mass balanced trophic model parametrization, estimates of annual food consumption/biomass ratio (Q/B) were compiled for 37 selected fish species of the Curuçá Estuary in Northern Brazil using an empirical model. Samples were taken bimonthly between July 2003 and July 2004 in the main channel and intertidal creeks using an otter trawl and a fyke net, respectively. The aspect ratio of the caudal fin varied between 0.8 for Poecilia vivipara and 4.6 for Sciades herzbergii and the Q/B ranged from 2.3 for Epinephelus itajara to 67.3 for Cetengraulis edentulus. This study represents the first reference available on Q/B values of 29 fish species. This compilation of Q/B ratio presented here should be useful for construction of Ecopath models particularly in tropical conditions. Keywords: consumption/biomass; aspect ratio; trophic models; Ecopath

Aggressive Youthful Action. The Role of the School in Youth Deviance
In Italy, as in many countries, it is difficult to measure the phenomenon of youthful deviance and associate it with the role of educational institutions in growth and training. It is a silent, hidden, overbearing bond, which is not measurable by the indicators represented in the social, psychological and economic systems and which often hides one or many truths (misunderstandings, personal, family and socio-economic distress, baby crime, gang initiation). We will try to highlight the elements of this link. What can be done to reduce the discomfort of young people that very often results in aggressive behavior towards themselves and towards others
Education and the Determinants of Early School Leaving in Campania
Skills gaps between people and socio-economic groups persist over time and affect the future of generations.Social change sees the relationship between education as a dynamic process, linked to “life long learning” and equity (Lisbon Commision, 2020) and the concept of human capital. The analysis of such a correlation will be the subject of the study to highlight the reasons for early school leaving and the repercussions on the labour market in some disadvantaged territorial units of reference in Campania (Italy). This regional context is characterized by a higher incidence of poverty, poor school performance and a less favourable condition of young people in the labour market. The examination will focus on the northern suburbs of Naples
