    Many studies have been performed to measure successful knowledge sharing in general.However, limited study has been done to assess successful knowledge sharing through social media.Hence, in this paper intend to discuss our approach to assess knowledge sharing among personal social media user.In order to achieve our objective, we proposed to integrate Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Markov Chain (MC) technique to investigate the pattern of the shared knowledge through social media.Markov Chain will be used to model the knowledge sharing success through expert opinion and stochastic process.We anticipate the outcome of the assessment in a form of a final matrix showing the probability of successful knowledge sharing through social media.The elements in each row of the Markov Chain transition matrix will be calculated using Analytic Hierarchy Process. The assessment tool produce from our research is expected to benefit policy maker or internet user in order to enhance their knowledge sharing strategy in social media application

    Measuring successful knowledge sharing among academia through social media

    This paper aims to study the influence of social media on knowledge sharing among academia. Previously, many researches have been done to explore the importance emergence of social media for public use, but there are still limited studies on how this technological advancement affects the academia.For this study, Facebook is chosen as one of the online social networking tools as the medium of knowledge sharing. To begin with, this study is started with the identification of factors that encourage the academia to share their knowledge through social media. These factors are then categorized based on Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB). After this knowledge has successfully shared, the level of successful knowledge sharing through Facebook is modeled using Fuzzy Logic.Fuzzy inputs for this study are the number of like, comment and share. Findings from this study indeed showed that there are many reasons encouraging academia to utilize social media for their work.Besides, this paper contributes new knowledge to fuzzy logic application as it is the first known research in measuring Facebook engagement for knowledge sharing purposes.In conclusion although there exist some barriers and limitations with the use of social media, academia are showing a positive shift in the application of these tools for work

    The world of research require researcher, academia and lecturers to share knowledge among them. With the invention of social media, knowledge sharing process has been more effective and easy. Previously, there were numerous researches done to investigate the effect of social media utilization for public used.There were also study that aimed to study social media effects in educatioanal sector but those study were centered around student’s perspective.Less consideration is given towards academia’s perspective. Therefore, this study is directed to explore other niche area on knowledge sharing environment where it will focused on the effects of social media on knowledge sharing among academia.Initially, literature review analysis was done to discover the potential factors that encourage academia to engage in social media.Ability to facilitate communication, idea generation and group establishment are the most cited reasons. Not only that, this paper will highlight the significance of performing this study.In conclusion, there is no doubt that social media do enhance and upgrading the knowledge sharing process thus assisting academia in their scholarly work

    Organic materials as polymer electrolytes for supercapacitor application

    Supercapacitors inevitably attract much attention among the scientific community and the general public since they combine the desirable characteristics of batteries and capacitors. The successful development of environmentally friendly supercapacitors is possible thanks to the organic materials obtained from renewable sources that are considered viable alternative materials for a safer and higher energy polymer electrolytes (PE) system. These organic polymer electrolytes (OPEs) are generally materials consisting of carbon and other atoms, such as oxygen, nitrogen, and halogen. This system is supramolecular in nature and produces high ionic conductivity when doped with ions. There is a myriad of future supercapacitor applications, including their use as supplementary energy sources in the electric grid, electric and microhybrid vehicles, and cell phone base stations. This chapter specifically discusses the recent progress made in the application of OPEs, their performance, challenges, and future directions in the context of supercapacitors

    Studies on H+ ions conducting bio-polymer blend electrolyte based on alginate-PVA doped with NH4NO3

    This study provides insights into the protonation of bio-polymer blend electrolytes (BBEs) that are based on alginate (Alg)-PVA doped with various NH4NO3 compositions, which was prepared using the solution casting method. The physicochemical of BBEs were studied by using electrical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) analysis, thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), scanning electron microscope (SEM), x-ray diffraction (XRD) and Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy. The complexation had occurred between the Alg-PVA functional groups with the H+–NH3NO3 through the shifting and changes in the intensity of the bands. The BBEs films showed the enhancement of amorphous and the presence of globules when introduced NH4NO3, which enhanced the ionic conductivity. The addition of 35 wt.% of NH4NO3 resulted in the highest ionic conductivity value of 5.20×10–4 S cm-1 and demonstrated excellent thermal property. It was found that the system's ionic conductivity was generally influenced by the charge carriers based on evaluation of the Nyquist fitting approaches

    It is crucial that data resources can talk to each other through thesaurus, ontologies and standards. Therfore, the integration of CGIAR controlled vocabularynto the AGROVOC thesaurus is key to interlink our data sets and publications in the food and agricultural domain and produce multilingual quality labeling. The Task Group and a curation team defined the added value for the CGIAR to formally contribute to AGROVOC, and how to organize CGIAR contribution in a coherent workflow. The recommendations are the following: 1. One CGIAR needs to strengthen its contribution to AGROVOC thus supporting the consolidation of the semantic landscape for labeling data in agriculture and food systems. 2.CGIAR centers should wait a bit till the affiliation process is complete so that the appropriate unit that will be responsible for AGROVOC can consume the Agreement since the timeline for the affiliation process is just some few months away. 3.OneCGIAR data managers will have to sustain the collaboration and submit terms to populate the ONECGIAR concepts schema newly created to provide direct visibility of the set of concepts (https://agrovoc.fao.org/skosmosOneCGIAR/cgiar/en/ ). Based on the collaboration concrete results, The TG recommends that the term submission effort and collaboration with FAO continues with proper allocation of data managers’ time and a training plan. Contribution to AGROVOC should be part of the data managers ToRs to concrete provide recognition of this role

    COVID-19 impacts and adaptations in Asia and Africa's aquatic food value chains

    The COVID-19 pandemic is a shock affecting all areas of the global food system. We tracked the impacts of COVID-19 and associated policy responses on the availability and price of aquatic foods and production inputs during 2020, using a high frequency longitudinal survey of 768 respondents in Bangladesh, Egypt, India, Myanmar, Nigeria. We found the following: (1) Aquatic food value chains were severely disrupted but most effects on the availability and accessibility of aquatic foods and production inputs were short-lived. (2) Impacts on demand for aquatic foods, production inputs, and labor have been longer lasting than impacts on their supply. (3) Retail prices of aquatic foods spiked briefly during March-May 2020 but trended down thereafter, whereas prices of production inputs rose. These trends suggest a deepening ‘squeeze’ on the financial viability of producers and other value chain actors. (4) Survey respondents adapted to the challenges of COVID-19 by reducing production costs, sourcing alternative inputs, diversifying business activities, leveraging social capital, borrowing, seeking alternative employment, and reducing food consumption. Many of these coping strategies are likely to undermine well-being and longer-term resilience, but we also find some evidence of proactive strategies with potential to strengthen business performance. Global production of aquatic food likely contracted significantly in 2020. The importance of aquatic food value chains in supporting livelihoods and food and nutrition security in Asia and Africa makes their revitalization essential in the context of COVID-19 recovery efforts.     This paper means to contemplate online social media usage on knowledge sharing among academia. In the past, numerous researches have been done to investigate how people in general make utilization of this innovation. However there are still restricted studies on how this technological advancement affects the scholarly world. Moreover, in Malaysia most research done in studying the effect of social media is focused on students rather than from academia perspective. For this study, Facebook is chosen as one of online social networking tool for knowledge sharing. Firstly, this study is begun with the exploration of factors that motivate the academia to share their insight through online networking. From the literature review analysis, ability to communicate with colleagues is the most cited reason showing the adoption of social media tools by academia. To understand more on how the Malaysian academia utilizes Facebook as a medium of knowledge sharing, a content analysis on a Facebook page is done. Content analysis is used to study the frequency of post as well as topics discussed among the academia. The findings reveal that there are four main topics regularly shared by the academia which are are information and current news, motivational quote, personal advice from life experience and program promoted
