Open Innovation encourages a strategic approach to the inclusion of external ideas in the internal processes of design; this concept, combined with the Social Web, provides a collective action in idea generation. The ontologies as knowledge representation applied in semantic solutions provide an alternative to the management of ideas and support the Open Innovation process. These solutions automate the linked data and, thus, help the innovation process to apply a greater number of external ideas associated with the design goals. This article identifies and analyzes the main semantic solutions in the management of Open Innovation. The documents that comprise this analysis resulted from a systematic review. The results indicate the importance of the concept of Linked Data for the connection of people, processes and content in the Front End of innovation and the sharing of knowledge through semantic application in the openness to innovation. Keywords: Open Innovation, Open Design, idea management, Knowledge engineering. This paper aims to identify the purpose of the use of technologies in the contemporary models of corporate university: Stakeholder University (SU) and Networked Corporate University (NCU). To accomplish it, we carried out a systematic search in the main electronic bases of scientific documents, categorizing the studies by means of the revised Bloom\u27s Taxonomy. This search enabled to distinguish the purpose of the use of technologies in corporate universities, such as the purpose of integration between different stakeholders in relation to knowledge. The research highlights the Corporate University in addition to an environment of education; but an area of innovation in which the integration of stakeholders, university and organization constitutes an important interaction and sharing networks. By identifying the technological characteristics and tools, it points out new approaches of technological integration in the mediation between stakeholders in order to promote networked learning. That is, to remember, understand, apply, analyze, evaluate, and create (Bloom\u27s Taxonomy), but, especially, to generate value from these relationships. The conclusion is that the distance education technologies, the knowledge media, and the engineering and knowledge management tools arise as enablers of the purpose of creating technologies to generate shared knowledge and stakeholder interaction, according to the models of SU and NCU

Innovation management is a challenge for organizations that aim to be competitive. When implementing a management process, the ability to measure what is to be managed is very important as it is the explanation of the strategic model of the innovation. The use of indicators allows verifying the development of the organizations or the development of each one of the regions individually, or in comparison to each other. Identifying indicators for innovation is crucial and there are several tools to help in this process, such as the patent statistics and R&D. This paper presents a bibliometric review wich aims to map the scientific production about Innovation Indicators. We have analysed 107 scientific articles from 209 authors working for 115 different institutions in 35 countries. Results show that the first article was published in 1973, and the number of publications tends to increase with time. The majority of the articles are published in journals and Europe is the region that counts the largest number of authors, followed by China, Brazil and the United States

Xylella fastidiosa : An in vivo system to study possible survival strategies within citrus xylem vessels based on global gene expression analysis

Abstract Xylella fastidiosa inhabits the plant xylem, a nutrient-poor environment, so that mechanisms to sense and respond to adverse environmental conditions are extremely important for bacterial survival in the plant host. Although the complete genome sequences of different Xylella strains have been determined, little is known about stress responses and gene regulation in these organisms. In this work, a DNA microarray was constructed containing 2,600 ORFs identified in the genome sequencing project of Xylella fastidiosa 9a5c strain, and used to check global gene expression differences in the bacteria when it is infecting a symptomatic and a tolerant citrus tree. Different patterns of expression were found in each variety, suggesting that bacteria are responding differentially according to each plant xylem environment. The global gene expression profile was determined and several genes related to bacterial survival in stressed conditions were found to be differentially expressed between varieties, suggesting the involvement of different strategies for adaptation to the environment. The expression pattern of some genes related to the heat shock response, toxin and detoxification processes, adaptation to atypical conditions, repair systems as well as some regulatory genes are discussed in this paper. DNA microarray proved to be a powerful technique for global transcriptome analyses. This is one of the first studies of Xylella fastidiosa gene expression in vivo which helped to increase insight into stress responses and possible bacterial survival mechanisms in the nutrient-poor environment of xylem vessels
