Obtaining the Weyl tensor from the Bel-Robinson tensor
The algebraic study of the Bel-Robinson tensor proposed and initiated in a
previous work (Gen. Relativ. Gravit. {\bf 41}, see ref [11]) is achieved. The
canonical form of the different algebraic types is obtained in terms of
Bel-Robinson eigen-tensors. An algorithmic determination of the Weyl tensor
from the Bel-Robinson tensor is presented.Comment: 21 page
The study of the Spanish population sport behaviour from the beginning of the democratic transition until de
middle of the first decade of the XXI century, relies on a strong theoretical and empirical basis, six national
social surveys that cover the 2005-1990 period. All the six sport social surveys have the same sponsorship,
the Sport Council (CSD), the same Institute of Social Research (CIS), and the same author, the one that has
prepared the present article. The longitudinal analysis of the main results allows to frame, both theoretically
and empirically, the advance of the posmodernization processes in the Spanish sport social system as well as
in the sport behaviour of the Spanish [email protected]
Angular Pseudomomentum Theory for the Generalized Nonlinear Schr\"{o}dinger Equation in Discrete Rotational Symmetry Media
We develop a complete mathematical theory for the symmetrical solutions of
the generalized nonlinear Schr\"odinger equation based on the new concept of
angular pseudomomentum. We consider the symmetric solitons of a generalized
nonlinear Schr\"odinger equation with a nonlinearity depending on the modulus
of the field. We provide a rigorous proof of a set of mathematical results
justifying that these solitons can be classified according to the irreducible
representations of a discrete group. Then we extend this theory to
non-stationary solutions and study the relationship between angular momentum
and pseudomomentum. We illustrate these theoretical results with numerical
examples. Finally, we explore the possibilities of the generalization of the
previous framework to the quantum limit.Comment: 18 pages; submitted to Physica
The paper presents an analysis of the overall structure of The Seventh Continent (Der siebente Kontinent, Michael Haneke, 1989). This provides a comparison between it and Landscape Suicide (James Benning, 1986) because Haneke's film owes much to the american independent production. Both films have huge formal and discursive matches, highlights the structural nature, as well as the minimalist character of the plots of each of them. From this point summarizes the joint organization of the haneke’s story through gestures Shöber family everyday in order to highlight the final report: familial self-destruction is carried out with the same routine and automatic as they had taken their own lives. A consequence of this question the articulation of a set of symbols and representations that have been established as a model of life and whose incarnation might well be viewed via the american dream. As discussed briefly concentrate planes that preface the film to get an idea of the descent into madness and horror. In short, Haneke is identified with the approach of the heterodox marxist Guy Debord diagnosed when signs of decay that are taking place within the capitalist society in which we operate
Cathodic Images As Beyond of the Filmic Projection in the Trilogy of the Glaciation of Michael Haneke
Through the triptych formed by The Seventh Continent (Der siebente kontinent, 1989), Benny’s Video (Benny’s Video, 1992) and 71 Fragments of a Chronology of Chance (71 Fragmente einer chronologie des zufalls, 1994), Michael Haneke produces a solid discursive unit focused on denouncing audiovisual show. This criticism is presented as a mirror of a way of life characterized by mere social appearance, as well as by the lethargy and alienation of the contemporary individual. Haneke takes this negative view of the society of the show to the extreme thanks to a series of metatextual techniques and enunciative marks, such as fragmentary and choral storytelling, black images, the suggestion of off-screen and the hybridization of visual textures of video and cinema. Our purpose in this text is to highlight this perception through the figurative and symbolic presence of television in the domestic sphere. Reality arises from television show, which in turn is real. According to Haneke, this reciprocal alienation —as Guy Debord similarly maintains— is the essence and foundation of our society
It is impossible to gather together the whole film dimension of Contactos without bearing in mind the historical-social context in which is came about. The first full-length film by Santander-born Paulino Viota faithfully reflects the atmosphere of the times in which Francoist oppression was so obvious in daily life that cinema became an underground space in which to move about so as to be able to shout in silence. This specular relationship between Viota's images and the reality of the moment has a happy confluence in the active appeal to the spectator of the period. To use the words of Wajcman, in reference to Shoah’s spectator-witness, we could endorse them when, in psychoanalytical terms, it is said that he becomes manifest as of his involvement in the act of watching: “His passage to the act could be expressed in the step taken from being to becoming […] it is not being a spectator, it is becoming, that is, consenting, subjectivising this passage where the spectator becomes a deliberate watcher in that place that is assigned to each person from where he or she is to witness the film"1. Thus, the spectator makes a committed gesture in the act of watching, fostered by the sequence-shots of Viota's film, in which the fact that real time is equal to film time produces a feeling of realit
The study tries to reflect the Hanekian corpus’ coherence through his television work as it lays the foundations of his film discourse in later years. That way we will disclose the evolution Michael Haneke already initiated from his first radical proposal Und was kommt dannach/After Liverpool (¿Y qué viene después?, 1974), through the modern literary adaptation of Ingeborg Bachman’s Drei Wege zum See (Tres senderos hacia el lago, 1976), up to his latest productions: the pessimistic perspective on Joseph Roth’s novel in Die rebellion (Los europeos/La rebelión, 1993) and the rough reading of Kafka’s Das Schloss (El castillo, 1997)

It is already an ascertainment and not a mere coincidence: Asian cinema is going through a happy moment of cinematographic creation. A long series of daring
