Opinnäytetyössäni käsittelen omaa taiteellista tuotantoani. Aluksi kerron kuinka olen päätynyt tekemään sitä mitä teen ja esittelen kuvasarjani. Tämän jälkeen käyn läpi käsitteitä, jotka liittyvät työhöni. Oma työskentelyni on kehittynyt kohti valon kuvaamista. Kuvaan valoa tietyn ajan kuluessa tai aikaa tietyssä valossa. Miten päin asiaa haluaakaan ajatella. Tutkin valon luonteita vuorokauden- ja vuodenaikojen muutoksina. Kuinka erilainen valo on eri aikoina? Miten se muuttaa kohdettaan? Ja kuinka se suhteutuu ympäristön väreihin? Tekstissäni perehdyn valoon Claude Monetin kautta. Kävelyllä on ollut tärkeä merkitys teosteni synnylle. Se toimii inspiraation lähteenä ja oli merkittävässä roolissa ensimmäisissä sarjoissani. Käsittelen kävelyn teemaa Richard Longin työskentelyn avulla. Aika, vuodenajat, toisto ja sattuma, sekä valokuvauksen ja maalauksen suhde ovat aiheina seuraavissa luvuissa. Käyn näitä asioita läpi taiteilijoiden avulla, joiden teoksiin ja työskentelyyn olen tutustunut kirjoittaessani tätä lopputyötä. Yhteistä kaikille valitsemilleni taiteilijoille tai teoksille on pitkien ajanjaksojen käyttäminen. Muita yhdistäviä tekijöitä ovat työskentelymetodit, tekniikka tai visuaalinen lopputulos

Entre 1945 y 1940 se registró uno de los momentos más felices de la producción arquitectónica uruguaya y particularmente, de la montevideana. Múltiples influencias europeas y estadounidenses marcaron, en forma sustancial, las realizaciones del período; pero ciertamente, el análisis de las causas de su alta significación no se agotan en la enumeración de estímulos exógenos, sin o que requiere la complementaria y matizada consideración de factores emergentes de la propia realidad local. Entrevistas es una colección que incluye diálogos con invitados internacionales destacados en el campo de la arquitectura y el diseño. Dichas entrevistas son realizadas por docentes de la Facultad de Arquitectura, Diseño y Urbanismo en el Museo Casa Vilamajó. Home monitoring of heart rate and heart rhythm with a smartphone-based ECG in dogs

The feasibility of the home monitoring of heart rate (HR) and rhythm through ECG tracings recorded by owners with a smartphone ECG device was evaluated in dogs. Smartphone ECG tracings were recorded by owners at home using a single-lead ECG device and sent via email for interpretation. A questionnaire was prepared to assess the owner's opinion regarding this home monitoring service. Recordings were evaluated by two operators, and agreement was evaluated for HR and rhythm diagnosis. Thirty-three dogs were included. Thirty-one owners (94 per cent) felt that the recording technique was easy to learn and that the smartphone ECG device was easy to use. A total of 15 owners (45 per cent) required a second person to hold the dog during recording. Of the 150 smartphone ECG tracings that were received, 134 (89 per cent) were interpretable. The median difference between the two operators to assess the mean HR on the smartphone tracings was 10 bpm (-10, +25 bpm). Perfect agreement (κ=1) between operators was observed in the heart rhythm evaluation. Most owners sent adequate ECG tracings for interpretation via email from their smartphone. Home monitoring of HR and heart rhythm may represent an additional tool in the management of dogs with arrhythmias

PoliMIce: A simulation framework for three-dimensional ice accretion

A modeling framework is developed to perform two- and three-dimensional simulations of ice accretion over solid bodies in a wet air flow. The PoliMIce (Politecnico di Milano Ice accretion software) library provides a general interface allowing different aerodynamic and ice accretion software to communicate. The built-in ice accretion engine moves from the well-known Myers approach and it includes state-of-the-art ice formation models. The ice accretion engine implements a fully three-dimensional representation of the two-phase flow over the solid body, accounting for both rime and glaze ice formation. As an improvement over the reference model, a parabolic temperature profile is assumed to guarantee the consistency with respect to the wall boundary conditions. Moreover, the mass balance is generalized to conserve the liquid fraction at the interface between the glaze and the rime ice types. Numerical simulations are presented regarding in-flight ice accretion over two-dimensional airfoils and three-dimensional straight- and swept-wings. The CFD open-source software OpenFOAM was used to compute the aerodynamic field and the droplet trajectories. Simulation results compare fairly well with available experiments on ice accretion
