Influence of post and resin cement on stress distribution of maxillary central incisors restored with direct resin composite

The current study evaluated the influence of two endodontic post systems and the elastic modulus and film thickness of resin cement on stress distribution in a maxillary central incisor (MCI) restored with direct resin composite using finite element analysis (FEA). A three-dimensional model of an MCI with a coronary fracture and supporting structures was performed. A static chewing pressure of 2.16 N/mm2 was applied to two areas on the palatal surface of the composite restoration. Zirconia ceramic (ZC) and glass fiber (GF) posts were considered. The stress distribution was analyzed in the post, dentin and cement layer when ZC and GF posts were fixed to the root canals using resin cements of different elastic moduli (7.0 and 18.6 GPa) and different layer thicknesses (70 and 200 μm). The different post materials presented a significant influence on stress distribution with lesser stress concentration when using the GF post. The higher elastic modulus cement created higher stress levels within itself. The cement thicknesses did not present significant changes.34222322

Technology has provided effciency and practicity for daily routines of people and companies. The market has solutions to exibilize access that usually uses hard security controls that need cosntant actions from a manager. This way, the paper aims to formalize a control access model that uses artificial intelligence techniques to adapt the users behavior changes and presents a case study of the implementation of this model. It was verified that the model presented satisfactory performance and it is suggested, as future works, the use of neural networks to make a comparison with this work.Sociedad Argentina de Informática e Investigación Operativ

A new chemoenzymatic approach to the synthesis of Latanoprost and Bimatoprost

Bimatoprost (1) and Latanoprost (2) are prostaglandin analogues widely used for glaucoma treatment. We have developed a new chemoenzymatic synthesis for 1 and 2, which utilizes a highly stereoselective sequence of biotransformations catalyzed by enzymes belonging to a single microorganism (the yeast Pichia anomala). The original synthesis, starting from (-)-Corey lactone benzoate (3aR,4R,5R,6aS)-3, was modified by replacing three synthetic steps (Cdouble bond, longC reduction, stereoselective Cdouble bond, longO reduction and hydrolysis/deprotection of the benzoate ester) with a one-pot, three-enzymes reaction. The overall biotransformation gave good yields and it was highly stereoselective; noteworthy, by engineering the reaction medium, Cdouble bond, longC reduction could be modulated so that unsaturated (3aR,4R,5R,6aS,3\u2032S)-6 or saturated intermediate (3aR,4R,5R,6aS,3\u2032R)-7 could be preferentially obtained. \ua9 2014 Elsevier B.V. Participatory pathways to the sustainable development goals : inviting divergent perspectives through a cross-scale systems approach

DATA AVAILABILITY STATEMENT : The data that support the findings of this study are available in the Supplementary data. The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) include social and ecological goals for humanity. Navigating towards reaching the goals requires the systematic inclusion of perspectives from a diversity of voices. Yet, the development of global sustainability pathways often lacks perspectives from the Global South. To help fill this gap, this paper introduces a participatory approach for visioning and exploring sustainable futures - the Three Horizons for the Sustainable Development Goals (3H4SDG). 3H4SDG facilitates explorations of (a) systemic pathways to reach the SDGs in an integrated way, and (b) highlights convergences and divergences between the pathways. We illustrate the application of 3H4SDG in a facilitated dialogue bringing together participants from four sub-regions of Africa: West Africa, Central Africa, East Africa, and Southern Africa. The dialogue focused on food and agricultural systems transformations. The case study results incorporate a set of convergences and divergences in relation to the future of urbanization, population growth, consumption, and the role of agriculture in the African economy. These were subsequently compared with the perspectives in global sustainability pathways, including the shared socioeconomic pathways (SSPs). The study illustrates that participatory approaches that are systemic and highlight divergent perspectives represent a promising way to link local aspirations with global goals.Formas, a Swedish government research council for sustainable development and European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme.https://iopscience.iop.org/journal/2515-7620am2024Agricultural Economics, Extension and Rural DevelopmentNon

De-Novo Assembly and Analysis of the Heterozygous Triploid Genome of the Wine Spoilage Yeast Dekkera bruxellensis AWRI1499

Despite its industrial importance, the yeast species Dekkera (Brettanomyces) bruxellensis has remained poorly understood at the genetic level. In this study we describe whole genome sequencing and analysis for a prevalent wine spoilage strain, AWRI1499. The 12.7 Mb assembly, consisting of 324 contigs in 99 scaffolds (super-contigs) at 26-fold coverage, exhibits a relatively high density of single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs). Haplotype sampling for 1.2% of open reading frames suggested that the D. bruxellensis AWRI1499 genome is comprised of a moderately heterozygous diploid genome, in combination with a divergent haploid genome. Gene content analysis revealed enrichment in membrane proteins, particularly transporters, along with oxidoreductase enzymes. Availability of this assembly and annotation provides a resource for further investigation of genomic organization in this species, and functional characterization of genes that may confer important phenotypic traits
