Unless C has a cocommutative coproduct, the usual symmetry properties of the induced bracket on Hom(C,L) fail to hold. We define the concept of twisted domain (TD) algebras in order to recover the symmetries and also construct a modified Chevalley-Eilenberg complex in order to define the cohomology of such algebras

    Ownership and Leasing of Minerals Under Highways and Right-Of-Ways

    The recent increase in urban drilling has raised several issues for oil and gas operators, one of which is the ownership of minerals under roads, easements, and other strips of land. Although the task of determining such ownership is far from new to operators, the increase in urban drilling and the drilling of horizontal, rather than vertical, wells has certainly made it more onerous. No matter how difficult it is to determine the mineral ownership, it must be completed if an operator is planning to drill under or within 330 feet of the tract. Attorneys and operators need to remember the strips of land are separate tracts of land and must be identified as such when applying for well permits. If an operator drills under a road that is not leased, then a trespass has been committed. At that point, the permit obtained by the operator may be invalid and the Railroad Commission could possibly shut-in the well. Regardless of whether the strip is a road, highway, railroad, or utility easement, ownership of the minerals can be determined through a two-step process: (1) identify how the strip was created and the resulting estate, and (2) determine the effect of subsequent conveyances of the strip and property adjacent thereto. Although this process can be used on all strips of land, regardless of their nature, this paper focuses mainly on roads for the sake of simplicity

    The Lie and module (Rinehart) algebraic structure of vector fields of compact support over C infinity functions on a (connected) manifold M define a unique universal non-commutative Poisson * algebra. For a compact manifold, a (antihermitian) variable Z, central with respect to both the product and the Lie product, relates commutators and Poisson brackets; in the non-compact case, sequences of locally central variables allow for the addition of an element with the same role. Quotients with respect to the (positive) values taken by Z* Z define classical Poisson algebras and quantum observable algebras, with the Planck constant given by -iZ.     Disclosed herein are systems, computer-implemented methods, and tangible computer-readable storage media for wide field imaging interferometry. The method includes for each point in a two dimensional detector array over a field of view of an image: gathering a first interferogram from a first detector and a second interferogram from a second detector, modulating a path-length for a signal from an image associated with the first interferogram in the first detector, overlaying first data from the modulated first detector and second data from the second detector, and tracking the modulating at every point in a two dimensional detector array comprising the first detector and the second detector over a field of view for the image. The method then generates a wide-field data cube based on the overlaid first data and second data for each point. The method can generate an image from the wide-field data cube

    Quantum mechanics on manifolds and topological effects

    A unique classification of the topological effects associated to quantum mechanics on manifolds is obtained on the basis of the invariance under diffeomorphisms and the realization of the Lie-Rinehart relations between the generators of the diffeomorphism group and the algebra of infinitely differentiable functions on the manifold. This leads to a unique ("Lie-Rinehart") C* algebra as observable algebra; its regular representations are shown to be locally Schroedinger and in one to one correspondence with the unitary representations of the fundamental group of the manifold.     A pressure suit for high altitude flights, particularly space missions is reported. The suit is designed for astronauts in the Apollo space program and may be worn both inside and outside a space vehicle, as well as on the lunar surface. It comprises an integrated assembly of inner comfort liner, intermediate pressure garment, and outer thermal protective garment with removable helmet, and gloves. The pressure garment comprises an inner convoluted sealing bladder and outer fabric restraint to which are attached a plurality of cable restraint assemblies. It provides versitility in combination with improved sealing and increased mobility for internal pressures suitable for life support in the near vacuum of outer space

    Surveillance for Toxoplasma gondii in the white-tailed deer (Odocoileus virginianus) in Ohio

    Author Institution: Department of Entomology, The Ohio State UniversitySerum samples from 147 white-tailed deer, Odocoileus virginianus, were collected at deer-check stations and Columbus area metropolitan park deer hunts during November and December of Ohio's 1996-97 and 97-98 hunting seasons. These samples were tested for Toxoplasma gondii antibodies using a modified direct agglutination assay. Forty-four percent (65/147) of the samples tested positive. Sixteen percent had a titer of 25, 16% had a titer of 50, 3% had a titer of 250 and 9% had a titer of >500. Percentage of positive deer varied greatly between geographical locations. Fifty-five percent of 45 serum samples collected from Hocking County were positive while only 6% of the 18 deer sampled from Franklin County tested positive. No significant differences in infection rates were observed between sexes. This is the first report of T. gondii antibodies from a game animal in Ohio. Pregnant women should thoroughly cook venison before it is consumed to avoid complications from this pathogen
