Enhancement of efficiency in the use of light for cultivation of plants in controlled ecological systems
The problems of plant cultivation with the use of artificial lighting are related to energetics and, initially, to the lack of effective sources for photosynthesis, secondly to the necessity to supply a system with a considerable power in the form of light energy and to remove transformed thermal energy, and finally to economic considerations. These problems are solved by three ways: by the choice of effective radiation sources, design approaches, and technological methods of cultivation. Here we shall consider the first two ways
QCD Heat Kernel in Covariant Gauge
We report the calculation of the fourth coefficient in an expansion of the
heat kernel of a non-minimal, non-abelian kinetic operator in an arbitrary
background gauge in arbitrary space-time dimension. The fourth coefficient is
shown to bring a nontrivial gauge dependence due to the contribution of the
lowest order off-shell gauge invariant structure.Comment: 6 pages + title page, standart LaTe
Jet Quenching via Jet Collimation
The ATLAS Collaboration recently reported strong modifications of dijet
properties in heavy ion collisions. In this work, we discuss to what extent
these first data constrain already the microscopic mechanism underlying jet
quenching. Simple kinematic arguments lead us to identify a frequency
collimation mechanism via which the medium efficiently trims away the soft
components of the jet parton shower. Through this mechanism, the observed dijet
asymmetry can be accomodated with values of that lie in the
expected order of magnitude.Comment: 6 pages, 4 figure
Decoherence and energy loss in QCD cascades in nuclear collisions
The medium modifications in the properties of QCD cascades are considered. In
particular, the changes in the intrajet rapidity distributions due to
medium-induced decoherence, collisional losses of cascade gluons and those of
final prehadrons are analyzed
Differentiation of Romashkino crude oils according to biomarker hydrocarbon parameters
The trends in composition of higher biomarker hydrocarbons (steranes and tri-, tetra-, and pentacyclic terpanes) in crude oils from diachronous producing complexes of deposits of the Romashkino oil field, which occurs in the central part of the South Tatarian arch, were studied. On the basis of variations in molecular biomarker parameters that reflect the type of source organic matter and the facies conditions of its accumulation and early diagenesis, the oils are classified with three groups. © Nauka/Interperiodica 2006
Evolution of average multiplicities of quark and gluon jets
The energy evolution of average multiplicities of quark and gluon jets is
studied in perturbative QCD. Higher order (3NLO) terms in the perturbative
expansion of equations for the generating functions are found. First and second
derivatives of average multiplicities are calculated. The mean multiplicity of
gluon jets is larger than that of quark jets and evolves more rapidly with
energy. It is shown which quantities are most sensitive to higher order
perturbative and nonperturbative corrections. We define the energy regions
where the corrections to different quantities are important. The latest

Thermal Dileptons at LHC
We predict dilepton invariant-mass spectra for central 5.5 ATeV Pb-Pb
collisions at LHC. Hadronic emission in the low-mass region is calculated using
in-medium spectral functions of light vector mesons within hadronic many-body
theory. In the intermediate-mass region thermal radiation from the Quark-Gluon
Plasma, evaluated perturbatively with hard-thermal loop corrections, takes
over. An important source over the entire mass range are decays of correlated
open-charm hadrons, rendering the nuclear modification of charm and bottom
