In this paper, we have proposed a solution to Multi Objective Linear Fractional Programming Problem (MOLFPP) by expanding the order 1st Taylor polynomial series these objective functions at optimal points of each linear fractional objective functions in feasible region. MOLFPP reduces to an equivalent Multi Objective Linear Programming Problem (MOLPP). The resulting MOLPP is solved assuming that weights of these linear objective functions are equal and considering the sum of the these linear objective functions. The proposed solution to MOLFPP always yields efficient solution, even a strong-efficient solution. Therefore, the complexity in solving MOLFPP has reduced easy computational. To show the ability the proposed solution, three different numerical examples have been presented. The given examples are solved using optimization software WINQSB (Chang, 2001)

Multivariate Padé Approximation for Solving Nonlinear Partial Differential Equations of Fractional Order

    Get PDF
Two tecHniques were implemented, the Adomian decomposition method (ADM) and multivariate Padé approximation (MPA), for solving nonlinear partial differential equations of fractional order. The fractional derivatives are described in Caputo sense. First, the fractional differential equation has been solved and converted to power series by Adomian decomposition method (ADM), then power series solution of fractional differential equation was put into multivariate Padé series. Finally, numerical results were compared and presented in tables and figures

Adsorption challenge in the PDMS-based microfluidic systems for drug screening application

Drug screening is one of the demand areas due to close and direct dependency on human health. On the other hand, recently microfluidic systems have been increasingly used for drug development and screening purposes. However, this system has some challenges such as adsorption issue which can effect pharmacokinetic-pharmacodynamic (PK-PD) of the drugs. Thus, in this research, the issue was characterized and evaluated by UV-Vis spectrophotometry and FTIR spectroscopy devices as a model drug of cisplatin. Despite of strong relationship between logP and adsorption, and the very low value of logP in the drug candidate, the results for both apical and basal planes of the microfluidic chip confirmed the adsorption. In the UV-Vis spectrophotometry, the basal plane show 5%, and 10% higher adsorption compared to apical and control polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS)-based microfluidic. Additionally, the FTIR patterns were a good coincide with UV-Vis results

A Proposal to the Solution of Multiobjective Linear Fractional Programming Problem

    Get PDF
We have proposed a new solution to the Multiobjective Linear Fractional Programming Problem (MOLFPP). The proposed solution is based on a theorem that deals with nonlinear fractional programming with single objective function and studied in the work by Dinkelbach, 1967. As a new contribution, we have proposed that is an efficient solution of MOLFPP if is an optimal solution of problem , where is for all . Hence, MOLFPP is simply reduced to linear programming problem (LPP). Some numerical examples are provided in order to illustrate the applications of the proposed method. The optimization software package, namely, WinQSB (Chang, 2001), has been employed in the computations

Use of allelopathic plant extract with herbicide

    No full text
Herbicides are one of the plant protection products that have been discussed due to their adversely effects caused by the usage of them although they have an important role on the sustainability of crop production. Researches on the plant protection practices, such as the development of new herbicide application techniques, the reduction of the application rate, the use of adjuvant, changing herbicide application time and the use of allelopathic plant extract, and the applications based on the results of these research have increased in recent years. The cost of weed control may exceed the economic benefits because a large amount of plant extract is needed to control weeds alone with allelopathic chemicals. Using the mixture of plant extracts with the reduced rate of herbicides is important both to reduce environmental and economic losses and to prevent some problem caused by use of herbicide. The extracts of plants which have got allelopathic character, such as sunflower, sorghum, brassica and rice, are commonly used for this aim. The aim of presented review is to emphasize the efficacy of allelopathic plant extract with herbicide to control weeds and its economical contribution
