    This article analyzes the implementation process of the Ecuadorian science, technology and innovation policy (PCTI) within the framework of the beginning of the post-neoliberal period, which implied the strengthening of the State and the insertion of the paradigm of buen vivir. For this purpose, the novel elements in the definition of this policy under the framework of buen vivir are described as an introductory note. Then, the complex construction process of the explicit PCTI during these years is reviewed. Finally, the instruments implemented and their relationship with the definition of PCTI are analyzed. To this end, the concepts of explicit scientific policy and implicit scientific policy of Herrera [1] and the notion of scientific-technological paradigm of Velho [2] are used. The chosen approach is framed in the new institutionalism that understands the definition and implementation of the PCTI as the result of the strategic game of the actors involved in these processes. This case study uses investigation of historical archives, documentary analysis and in-depth interviews with relevant actors. It is found that the PCTI during these years was unstable, as there were several short-term policy documents, and that its implementation was far from the ambitious rhetoric and the major objectives, limited to two instruments: international postgraduate scholarships and financing of research and development projects

    63 P?ginasRecurso Electr?nicoLa sociedad actual frecuentemente se desvincula de los conocimientos te?rico-pr?cticos referentes al empleo de las plantas arom?ticas, olvidando los beneficios en los ?mbitos educativos, familiar y social; como objetivo central se definen estrategias pedag?gicas que favorezcan el reconocimiento y comprensi?n del beneficio con la utilizaci?n de cinco plantas arom?ticas: yerba buena, limoncillo, cidr?n, or?gano y manzanilla, en los estudiantes del CER Socorro de Sabanas del Municipio de Santa Fe de Antioquia y de la I.E. Atanasio Girardot del Municipio de Bello; con Metodolog?a de Investigaci?n Acci?n (IA) considerando los intereses del colectivo frente a la utilizaci?n y beneficios de las plantas arom?ticas, sus efectos curativos, y su empleo en emplastos, bebidas, ba?os, laxantes, entre otros usos. Se cumple con el perfil de la Licenciatura en Educaci?n B?sica establecido por la Universidad del Tolima; se aprecian hallazgos referidos a un grado de concientizaci?n respecto al empleo y uso de las plantas arom?ticas. Result? gratificante para la poblaci?n beneficiaria la adquisici?n de las nociones impartidas, la distribuci?n de macetas y el disfrute de tisanas en cada encuentro para la recolecci?n de informaci?n y socializaci?n final de los resultados. Es gratificante, como evidencia del trabajo y para afianzar los saberes tradicionales, enriquecidos con el enfoque te?rico-pr?ctico de la propuesta, la elaboraci?n y distribuci?n del M?dulo Sembramos la salud. Today's society often split with the theoretical and practical knowledge regarding the use of herbs , forgetting the benefits in education , family and social spheres; like the central objective of teaching strategies that encourage the recognition and understanding of the benefit with the use of five aromatic plants: good grass, lemongrass, Cidr?n , oregano and chamomile in CER students Relief Sheets Municipality of Santa Fe de Antioquia and EI Atanasio Girardot Municipality of Bello ; Research Methodology in Action ( IA ) considering the interests of the collective over the use and benefits of herbs , their healing effects , and their use in plasters, drinks, bathrooms, laxatives, among other uses. It complies with the profile of the Bachelor of Primary Education established by the University of Tolima; findings related to a degree of awareness regarding the employment and use of aromatic plants are appreciated. Gratifying for the acquisition target population received notions, the distribution of pots and enjoys teas at each meeting for the collection of information and socialization of end results. It is gratifying, as evidence of the work and to strengthen traditional knowledge, enriched with theoretical and practical approach of the proposal, development and distribution of sow health module.     Exploring the metabolic capabilities of purple phototrophic bacteria during piggery wastewater treatment

    Producción CientíficaPurple phototrophic bacteria (PPB) are receiving an increasing attention due to their extraordinary metabolic capabilities for nutrient and carbon recovery from wastewaters. Batch experiments were herein performed to assess the influence of the type of radiation (photosynthetic active radiation (PAR), near-infrared radiation (NIR) and PAR using an UV-VIS absorbing filter), temperature (13 °C and 30 °C), type of metabolism (photoheterotrophic and chemoheterotrophic), type of inoculum (mixed culture and pure strain Rhodopseudomonas palustris) and wastewater load (1:5 and 1:10 dilutions) during piggery wastewater (PWW) treatment by PPB. The use of UV-VIS filtered PAR supported both a high content of bacteriochlorophyll in PPB and the highest total organic carbon (TOC) and total nitrogen (TN) removal efficiency (RE) (74 % and 37 %, respectively), but at lower maximum removal rates. Interestingly, PPB exhibited similar TOC-REs and TN-REs (73 % and 37 %, respectively) at 13 °C than at 30 °C (71 % and 45 %, respectively), at similar removal rates. Mixed cultures of PPB achieved a higher nutrient assimilation rate than R. palustris, supporting a total assimilation of the volatile fatty acids present in 10 folds diluted PWW.     The Spitzer c2d Survey of Large, Nearby, Interstellar Clouds. IV. Lupus Observed with MIPS

    We present maps of 7.78 square degrees of the Lupus molecular cloud complex at 24, 70, and 160μ160\:\mum. They were made with the Spitzer Space Telescope's Multiband Imaging Photometer for Spitzer (MIPS) instrument as part of the Spitzer Legacy Program, ``From Molecular Cores to Planet-Forming Disks'' (c2d). The maps cover three separate regions in Lupus, denoted I, III, and IV. We discuss the c2d pipeline and how our data processing differs from it. We compare source counts in the three regions with two other data sets and predicted star counts from the Wainscoat model. This comparison shows the contribution from background galaxies in Lupus I. We also create two color magnitude diagrams using the 2MASS and MIPS data. From these results, we can identify background galaxies and distinguish them from probable young stellar objects. The sources in our catalogs are classified based on their spectral energy distribution (SED) from 2MASS and Spitzer wavelengths to create a sample of young stellar object candidates. From 2MASS data, we create extinction maps for each region and note a strong corresponence between the extinction and the 160μ160\:\mum emission. The masses we derived in each Lupus cloud from our extinction maps are compared to masses estimated from 13^{13}CO and C18^{18}O and found to be similar to our extinction masses in some regions, but significantly different in others. Finally, based on our color-magnitude diagrams, we selected 12 of our reddest candidate young stellar objects for individual discussion.     Red para la elaboración de material docente en el Grado de Traducción e Interpretación

    Con el fin de contribuir al proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje en el Grado en Traducción e Interpretación, favoreciendo la asimilación de conocimiento por parte de los alumnos, en el seno del Proyecto Redes de Investigación en Docencia Universitaria, promovido por el Instituto de Ciencias de la Educación de la Universidad de Alicante, se ha creado la red de investigación «Red para la elaboración de material docente en el Grado de Traducción e Interpretación» (código 3421). Durante el año académico 2015-2016, los esfuerzos de los miembros de la mencionada red se han centrado en la elaboración de un tutorial audiovisual destinado a explicar el uso, la función, la tipología, la estructura y la terminología de los diccionarios, así como el público al que se dirigen. En el presente trabajo se expondrá la labor desarrollada por los miembros de la red para llevar a cabo dicho objetivo

    Relationship between the female attendance pattern and pup growth rate in the South American sea lion (Carnivora)

    Changes in the duration and frequency of foraging trips by female otariids may result in changes in the duration and frequency of lactation bouts and hence influence pup growth rate, unless females modify milk energy density and/or the total amount of milk delivered depending on the trip duration. To test this hypothesis on South American sea lions, we measured two attendance pattern components (foraging trip and haul-out duration) and three diving behaviour components of nursing females (dive time, bottom time and number of dives per h) at two different rookeries in Uruguay and Argentina, the composition and energy density of their milk, and the growth rate of their pups. Female foraging trip and haul-out durations depended on pup sex and weight, whereas milk energy density depended on female body mass and foraging trip durations. By contrast, the three dive variables were independent of female body mass or pup sex. Pup growth was also independent of the foraging trip and haul-out duration, with pup sex as the only significant variable. This suggests that individual differences in female foraging behaviour play a minor role in determining pup growth rates during the first three weeks after birth

    Una vez transcurridos cuatro años desde que, a tenor de lo establecido en la «Declaración de Bolonia» de 1999, se implantara con las correspondientes reformas del sistema educativo, entre otros títulos oficiales, el Grado en Traducción e Interpretación en la Universidad de Alicante, la comunidad universitaria requiere instrumentos de análisis para valorar la convergencia de las asignaturas de que consta. En el seno del Proyecto Redes de Investigación en Docencia Universitaria, promovido por el Instituto de Ciencias de la Educación de la Universidad de Alicante, el cometido de la «Red de Coordinación para las asignaturas transversales en el Grado en Traducción e Interpretación» (código 3164) ha consistido en dotar de mayor coherencia a las asignaturas «Documentación aplicada a la Traducción», «Lingüística aplicada a la Traducción» y «Teoría e Historia de la Traducción», dado el carácter acumulativo y secuencial de las mismas, con el fin de mejorar el proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje dentro y fuera del aula.
