As part of the patrimony of the San Francisco’s church in Cordoba there is a monumental canvas which has been subject of several references in the artistic historiography even though all of them have only merely been descriptive or mentioning it just because of its iconographic rarity and its odd character. That is probably the reason why only until very recently has not been an agreement in pointing out its thematic as well as its aim in order to ascribe it to a specific iconographic corpus: we are making reference to the picture which represents the Mystic Press. This contribution just pretends to reveal how the study of this piece is possible reveal the pedagogic use by the post Trento’s Catholic Church of two of the main instruments such as the existence of Purgatory and the the Santisimo Sacramento cult as part of a determined ideology
Tau Custodian searches at the LHC
The tau lepton can be more composite than naively expected in models of
strong electroweak symmetry breaking with tri-bimaximal lepton mixing. New
leptonic resonances required by custodial symmetry, the tau custodians, can
then be the first signal of this lepton flavor realization. Tau custodians can
be very light, decaying almost exclusively into taus. The LHC reach for these
new leptons is up to masses of 240, 480 and 720 GeV for sqrt{s}=14 TeV and an
integrated luminosity of 30, 300 and 3000 fb^{-1}, respectively. Our analysis
can be extended to any pair produced particles decaying mostly into taus and
Standard Model bosons.Comment: 12 pages, 2 figure
Propiedad de Markov de los procesos localmente estacionarios
By means of the spectral decomposition of the ordinary (non-generalized) locally homogeneous fields and of a result of Kallianpur-Mandrekar, we prove the Markov property with respect to all open sets for those locally homogeneous fields with the inverse of a polinomial as its Lévy measur
The correlation of visibility noise and its impact on the radiometric resolution of an aperture synthesis radiometer
The correlation between the visibility samples' noise of an aperture synthesis radiometer are required for the computation of the recovered temperature noise of a given pixel and of the improvement introduced by baseline redundance. A general expression for this correlation and noise examples for a linear array are presented.Peer ReviewedPostprint (published version
Learning-Based Adaptation for Personalized Mobility Assistance
Mobility assistance is of key importance for people with disabilities to remain autonomous in their preferred environments. In severe cases, assistance can be provided by robotized wheelchairs that can perform complex maneuvers and/or correct the user’s commands. User’s acceptance is of key importance, as some users do not like their commands to be modified. This work presents a solution to improve acceptance. It consists of making the robot learn how the user drives so corrections will not be so noticeable to the user. Case Based Reasoning (CBR) is used to acquire a user’s driving model reactive level. Experiments with volunteers at Fondazione Santa Lucia (FSL) have proven that, indeed, this customized approach at assistance increases acceptance by the user. This work has been partially supported by the Spanish Ministerio de Educacion y Ciencia (MEC), Project TEC2011-29106-C02-01. The authors would like to thank Santa Lucia Hospedale and all volunteers for their kind cooperation and Sauer Medica for providing the power wheelchair
Una aproximación a la educación en medios en África
In this paper we make an approach to media education in Africa. The called Media Literacy is a social, academic and cultural movement, with special development in certain countries in Latin America and a wide presence in Europe and, to a lesser extent, in other countries. In 1979 Unesco expressly referred to the importance of knowing by society the implications which correspond to the media, due to the importance in many different areas of daily life of citizens. More than three decades later, the aspirations of a suitable media education are extended to the new platforms of media, with the Internet leading, and keep on being of interest as mainstay of civic participation and democratic depth. All of it, without forgetting the rightful role in all parts with respect to the communication for development and communication for social change.
Nanosized Calcium Phosphates as Novel Macronutrient Nano-Fertilizers
The need for qualitatively and quantitatively enhanced food production, necessary for
feeding a progressively increasingWorld population, requires the adoption of new and sustainable
agricultural protocols. Among them, limiting the waste of fertilizers in the environment has become
a global target. Nanotechnology can offer the possibility of designing and preparing novel materials
alternative to conventional fertilizers, which are more readily absorbed by plant roots and, therefore,
enhance nutrient use efficiency. In this context, during the last decade, great attention has been
paid to calcium phosphate nanoparticles (CaP), particularly nanocrystalline apatite and amorphous
calcium phosphate, as potential macronutrient nano-fertilizers with superior nutrient-use efficiency
to their conventional counterparts. Their inherent content in macronutrients, like phosphorus, and
gradual solubility in water have been exploited for their use as slow P-nano-fertilizers. Likewise,
their large (specific) surfaces, due to their nanometric size, have been functionalized with additional
macronutrient-containing species, like urea or nitrate, to generate N-nano-fertilizers with more
advantageous nitrogen-releasing profiles. In this regard, several studies report encouraging results
on the superior nutrient use efficiency showed by CaP nano-fertilizers in several crops than their
conventional counterparts. Based on this, the advances of this topic are reviewed here and critically
discussed, with special emphasis on the preparation and characterization approaches employed to
synthesize/functionalize the engineered nanoparticles, as well as on their fertilization properties in
different crops and in different (soil, foliar, fertigation and hydroponic) conditions. In addition, the
remaining challenges in progress toward the real application of CaP as nano-fertilizers, involving
several fields (i.e., agronomic or material science sectors), are identified and discussed.Fondazione Cariplo 2016-0648University of Granada PPJIA2021.20Marie Sklodowska-Curie Individual Fellowship within the European Union H2020 programme H2020-MSCA-IF-2019-EF-ST-888972-PSustMO

Towards a Shared Control Navigation Function:Efficiency Based Command Modulation
This paper presents a novel shared control algorithm for robotized
wheelchairs. The proposed algorithm is a new method to extend
autonomous navigation techniques into the shared control domain. It reactively
combines user’s and robot’s commands into a continuous function
that approximates a classic Navigation Function (NF) by weighting input
commands with NF constraints. Our approach overcomes the main drawbacks
of NFs -calculus complexity and limitations on environment
modeling- so it can be used in dynamic unstructured environments. It also
benefits from NF properties: convergence to destination, smooth paths
and safe navigation. Due to the user’s contribution to control, our function
is not strictly a NF, so we call it a pseudo-navigation function (PNF)
instead.Universidad de Málaga. Campus de Excelencia Internacional Andalucía Tech
