Dual Labor Market and Endogenous Fluctuations
We study the influence of wage differential on the emergence of endogenous fluctuations. In this way, we introduce a dual labor market, based on the Shapiro-Stiglitz efficiency wage theory in an overlapping generations model. We show that wage inequality is a source of endogenous fluctuations. Indeed, a sufficiently strong wage differentialleads to the occurrence of cycles of period two and local indeterminacy. Moreover, in contrast to several existing contributions, these results depend neither on increasing returns to scale, nor on the degree of capital-labor substitution.Endogenous fluctuations ; dual labor market ; wage inequality ; efficiency wage
Heterogeneous Workers, Dualism and Efficiency Wage
We consider a segmented labor market characterized by a Shapiro-Stiglitz efficiency wage setting in both sectors. However, the primary sector and the secondary sector differ in the firing cost which induces a wage diffential. We suppose also a heterogeneous labor force characterized by the presence of > and > workers. Only controlled non-shirking workers of the secondary sector can enter in the primary one. This flow of these ones is assimilated to promoted workers. We show that involuntary unemployment emerges at the equilibrium because of efficiency wage setting in both sectors. We argue also that a reduction of the firing cost in the primary sector leads to a lower unemployment of both worker types and raises wage discrimination.labor turnover, efficiency wage, primary and secondary sectors

Rhodanese-BSA polymers entrapped in insolubilised gelatin gels: properties and behaviour in continuous systems
The enzymatic oxidation of cephalosporin C to glutaryl-7-amminocephalosporanic acid (glutaryl-7-ACA) was carried out utilizing permeabilized whole cells of the yeast Trigonopsis variabilis entrapped in Ca-alginate beads. The biomass, cultured in a rich medium containing D,L methionine and harvested after 72 h of growth, exhibited high levels of D-aminoacid oxidase activity. Prior to use, thewho,lke cells were permeabilized with four freeze-thawing cycles and immobilized in polysaccharide matrices, such as Ca-alginate and K- carrageenan, and in an insolubilised gelatin gel. The best results in terms of activity yield and storage stability were obtained with cells entrapped in Ca-alginate beads. These cells were utilized for glutaryl-7-ACA production in a continuous stirred batch reactor (CSTR) and in a packed bed reactor working in a plug flow reactor (PFR), using 50 mm Cephalosporin C as substrate. The performances of the two systems were compared. The overall on a void volume basis) were 1.63 g and 255 mg of glutaryl-7-ACA h-1 in the PFR and in CSTR, respectively
The role of wage bargaining institutions in the Phillips curve Flattening
We investigate the role of collective wage bargaining institutions on the relationship between wage
growth and unemployment, that is, the wage Phillips curve. Based on a labour market model with
frictions and collective bargaining, we hypothesize that when the economy deteriorates, wages fall
less in parts of the economy covered by collective wage agreements negotiated by trade unions at
a centralized level than in economies with bargaining fully decentralized within companies. We
move from theory to empirical analysis using regional NUTS-2 data from European countries,
which show evidence that the wage Phillips curve flattens when unemployment is high — and gets
steeper when the labor market is overheated —, in economies where the sectoral or cross-sectoral
levels play a role in the collective wage bargaining. We also find that from a level of centralization

Urinary exosomal shuttle RNA: Promising cancer diagnosis biomarkers of lower urinary tract.
Background: Prostate and bladder cancers continue to be the first and fourth most common cancers in men worldwide; thus there is an urgent need for more accurate biomarkers that can detect these types of cancer in a non-invasive way. Liquid biopsy is a new non-invasive tool for diagnosis and with a virtually unlimited supply urine is even more attractive resource since urinary exosomes have been discovered to contain RNAs that are hallmarks of cancer. It is challenging to assay those secreting lower amounts of molecules. Methods: This review, based on articles identified through a PubMed/MEDLINE search, comprehensively summarizes state of the art approaches used in the discovery and validation of exosomal RNA biomarkers purified from the urine for lower urinary tract cancer. Results: The combination of PCA3 and ERG has shown a relatively good improvement in diagnostic performance; examples of other potential biomarkers and the methods utilized in their discovery are also discussed in this review. Conclusions: Of these last markers, to date there are still few data to implement these for routine diagnosis
