ABSTRACT: This document contains the development of an architectural proposal that will start with the problem of not having adequate facilities; Disorganized areas and spaces within the facilities of the National Sports Institute of El Salvador (INDES) San Miguel. Which makes it difficult for said institution and its users of this sports venue to be able to perform and develop to the maximum, but this being part of the problem, it has been taken into account that (INDES) san miguel is the headquarters of competences of the eastern zone. makes clear the importance and magnitude of the problem and the solution proposed in this document. For this reason, the (INDES) san miguel proposed the development of a multipurpose room for indoor sports which is basically the integration of a number of sports disciplines within the same space that would have the areas and regulatory measures for the adequate development of the different sports discipline
The new reality in the world, caused by the COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2) pandemic, has led the daily activities that we knew to a virtual adaptation, physical activity and physical exercise have been mainly one of them throughout the world and in our social contexts. The aim of this study is to carry out an analysis of the virtual strategies that were carried out to carry out exercise, sports, actions, activity and physical education at home, undertaken by some municipalities of Veracruz State, as well as sports institutes of the State of Colima and Nuevo León. The data collected was made through the Facebook® social network, counting the number of actions or strategies undertaken, expressions, shared and reproductions in the case of video graphics material. Among the results found, the main actions include physical exercise with music, as well as guidelines on physical exercise with materials and objects from your home (indoors). The conclusion is clear of the effort of the municipal and state authorities to keep society physically active and impact the health of the body with the benefit of physical activity and sport. Structure, Process, and Mortality Associated with Acute Coronary Syndrome Management in Guatemala’s National Healthcare System: The ACS-GT Registry
Background: Acute coronary syndromes (ACS) include ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI), non-ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI), and unstable angina (UA). The leading cause of mortality in Guatemala is acute myocardial infarction (AMI) and there is no established national policy nor current standard of care. Objective: Describe the factors that influence ACS outcome, evaluating the national healthcare system’s quality of care based on the Donabedian health model. Methods: The ACS-Gt study is an observational, multicentre, and prospective national registry. A total of 109 ACS adult patients admitted at six hospitals from Guatemala’s National Healthcare System were included. These represent six out of the country’s eight geographic regions. Data enrolment took place from February 2020 to January 2021. Data was assessed using chi-square test, Student’s t-test, or Mann-Whitney U test, whichever applied. A p-value < 0.05 was considered statistically significant. Results: One hundred and nine patients met inclusion criteria (80.7% STEMI, 19.3% NSTEMI/UA). The population was predominantly male, (68%) hypertensive (49.5%), and diabetic (45.9%). Fifty-nine percent of STEMI patients received fibrinolysis (alteplase 65.4%) and none for primary Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (pPCI). Reperfusion success rate was 65%, and none were taken to PCI afterwards in the recommended time period (2–24 hours). Prognostic delays in STEMI were significantly prolonged in comparison with European guidelines goals. Optimal in-hospital medical therapy was 8.3%, and in-hospital mortality was 20.4%. Conclusions: There is poor access to ACS pharmacological treatment, low reperfusion rate, and no primary, urgent, or rescue PCI available. No patient fulfilled the recommended time period between successful fibrinolysis and PCI. Resources are limited and inefficiently used

Heterogeneity in patterns of helminth infections across populations of mountain gorillas (Gorilla beringei beringei)
Conservation efforts have led to the recovery of the endangered mountain gorilla populations. Due to their limited potential for spatial expansion, population densities increased, which may alter the epidemiology of infectious diseases. Recently, clinical gastrointestinal illnesses linked to helminth infections have been recorded in both gorilla populations. To understand drivers and patterns of helminth infections we quantified strongylid and tapeworm infections across both Virunga Massif and Bwindi populations using fecal egg counts. We assessed the impact of age, sex, group size, season and spatial differences used as a proxy, which reflects observed variation in the occurrence of gastrointestinal problems, vegetation types, gorilla subpopulation growth and associated social structure on helminth infections. We revealed striking geographic differences in strongylid infections with higher egg counts mostly in areas with high occurrences of gastrointestinal disease. Increased helminth egg counts were also associated with decreasing group size in some areas. Observed spatial differences may reflect mutual effects of variations in subpopulation growth rates, gorilla social structure, and vegetation associated with altitude across mountain gorilla habitat. Helminth infection intensities in Virunga gorillas were lowest in the youngest and the oldest animals. Elucidating parasite infection patterns of endangered species with low genetic diversity is crucial for their conservation management
Comprehensive virtual screening of 4.8 k flavonoids reveals novel insights into allosteric inhibition of SARS-CoV-2 MPRO
El texto completo de este trabajo no está disponible en el Repositorio Académico UPC por restricciones de la casa editorial donde ha sido publicado.SARS-CoV-2 main protease is a common target for inhibition assays due to its high conservation among coronaviruses. Since flavonoids show antiviral activity, several in silico works have proposed them as potential SARS-CoV-2 main protease inhibitors. Nonetheless, there is reason to doubt certain results given the lack of consideration for flavonoid promiscuity or main protease plasticity, usage of short library sizes, absence of control molecules and/or the limitation of the methodology to a single target site. Here, we report a virtual screening study where dorsilurin E, euchrenone a11, sanggenol O and CHEMBL2171598 are proposed to inhibit main protease through different pathways. Remarkably, novel structural mechanisms were observed after sanggenol O and CHEMBL2171598 bound to experimentally proven allosteric sites. The former drastically affected the active site, while the latter triggered a hinge movement which has been previously reported for an inactive SARS-CoV main protease mutant. The use of a curated database of 4.8 k flavonoids, combining two well-known docking software (AutoDock Vina and AutoDock4.2), molecular dynamics and MMPBSA, guaranteed an adequate analysis and robust interpretation. These criteria can be considered for future screening campaigns against SARS-CoV-2 main protease.Consejo Nacional de Ciencia, Tecnología e Innovación TecnológicaRevisión por pare
Integrating climate adaptation and transboundary management:Guidelines for designing climate-smart marine protected areas
Climate change poses an urgent threat to biodiversity that demands societal responses. The magnitude of this challenge is reflected in recent international commitments to protect 30% of the planet by 2030 while adapting to climate change. However, because climate change is global, interventions must transcend political boundaries. Here, using the California Bight as a case study, we provide 21 biophysical guidelines for designing climate-smart transboundary marine protected area (MPA) networks and conduct analyses to inform their application. We found that future climates and marine heatwaves could decrease ecological connectivity by 50% and hinder the recovery of vulnerable species in MPAs. To buffer the impacts of climate change, MPA coverage should be expanded, focusing on protecting critical nodes for the network and climate refugia, where impacts might be less severe. For shared ecoregions, these actions require international coordination. Our work provides the first comprehensive framework for integrating climate resilience for MPAs in transboundary ecoregions, which will support other nations’ aspirations.</p
