Nutroterapia na porfiria aguda intermitente: Da UTI ao ambulatório

Acute intermittent porphyria is a rare genetic disease, autosomal dominant, with variable penetrance, which causes error in the heme metabolism pathway of the liver, with accumulation of intermediate metabolites that are toxic to the body. It is manifested by crisis with multisystem symptoms, and diagnosis is often difficult. The main findings are severe abdominal pain, polyneuropathy, autonomic dysfunction, and neuropsychiatric disorders. It ranges from mild to very severe with malignant arrhythmia and bulbar paralysis with respiratory failure requiring mechanical ventilation and admission to the intensive care unit. The diagnosis is confirmed biochemistry and genetics. Treatment of the crisis is done away from precipitating factors and specifically with a diet rich in carbohydrates and hematin, with positive effect on the heme biosynthetic pathway. Within the multidisciplinary team, it must be highlighted the role of the nutrition specialist doctor, who evaluates and guides the nutrition therapy, both in crises and in the clinical monitoring of these patients

Chinese cultural diplomacy : instruments in China’s strategy for international insertion in the 21st century

This article analyzes instruments of Chinese cultural diplomacy (2003-2018), such as the media, cinema, and the Confucius Institutes, as well as its potential to overcome barriers between states. China’s cultural soft power was studied in Confucius Institutes in the U.S.. The conclusion is that China increasingly used cultural diplomacy and turned it into a key instrument in its strategy for international insertion

Physical activity and quality of life of amputees in southern Brazil

Physical activity is a positive component of human health. Its effects are associated with improvement in physical, psychological and social aspects of quality of life. Physical activity is therefore an important factor in the rehabilitation of amputees. To analyse the relationship between physical activity and quality of life for amputees in southern Brazil. Descriptive, cross-sectional design with nonrandomized sample. A total of 40 questionnaire instruments were distributed to subjects who met the inclusion criteria, with a response rate of 55% (22 individuals, n = 15 males, n = 7 females). Outcome measurements were obtained through the International Physical Activity Questionnaire and World Health Organization Quality of Life–Bref. The sample was characterized by physically active adult male prosthetic users with positive quality of life, and amputation below the right knee caused by mechanical trauma related to traffic accidents with motorcycles. Significant correlations were identified between all domains of quality of life and between level of physical activity and psychological quality of life. No correlation was identified between gender and quality of life variables or physical activity levels. Vortex-Antivortex annihilation dynamics in a square mesoscopic superconducting cylinder

The dynamics of the annihilation of a vortex-antivortex pair is investigated. The pair is activated magnetically during the run of a simulated hysteresis loop on a square mesoscopic superconducting cylinder with an antidot inserted at its center. We study the nucleation of vortices and antivortices by first increasing the magnetic field, applied parallel to the axis of the sample, from zero until the first vortex is created. A further increase of the field pulls the vortex in, until it reaches the antidot. As the polarity of the field is reversed, an antivortex enters the scene, travels toward the center of the sample and eventually the pair is annihilated. Depending on the sample size, its temperature, and Ginzburg-Landau parameter, the vortex-antivortex encounter takes place at the antidot or at the superconducting sea around it. The position and velocity of the vortex and antivortex singularities were evaluated as a function of time. Investigating Sar-Optical Deep Learning Data Fusion to Map the Brazilian Cerrado Vegetation with Sentinel Data

Despite its environmental and societal importance, accurately mapping the Brazilian Cerrado's vegetation is still an open challenge. Its diverse but spectrally similar physiognomies are difficult to be identified and mapped by state-of-the-art methods from only medium-to high-resolution optical images. This work investigates the fusion of Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) and optical data in convolutional neural network architectures to map the Cerrado according to a 2-level class hierarchy. Additionally, the proposed model is designed to deal with uncertainties that are brought by the difference in resolution between the input images (at 10m) and the reference data (at 30m). We tested four data fusion strategies and showed that the position for the data combination is important for the network to learn better features.</p

Nursing journals and medication management: identification and categorization of publications from 1987 to 2008

Este estudo objetivou identificar e categorizar os artigos de periódicos nacionais de enfermagem que abordam temas referentes à administração de medicamentos no período de 1987 a 2008. A partir da busca realizada nas principais bases de dados da saúde, utilizou-se a revisão de literatura acerca da temática em seis periódicos nacionais, categorizando os artigos em assistência, ensino, pesquisa, técnica e erros de medicação, comunicação e medicamentos específicos. Foram identificados 108 artigos, destacando-se a Revista Latino-Americana de Enfermagem e a Revista Brasileira de Enfermagem e o autor Cassiani e a categoria medicamentos específicos, como aqueles responsáveis pelo mais expressivo quantitativo de artigos publicados. É necessária a soma de esforços para uma mais expressiva produção de artigos relacionados à administração de medicamentos.Este estudio objetivó identificar y categorizar los artículos de periódicos nacionales de enfermería que abordan temas referentes a la administración de medicamentos en el período de 1987 a 2008. Es necesario sumar esfuerzos para realizar una producción más expresiva de artículos relacionados a la administración de medicamentos.This study aimed to identify and categorize publications about themes related to medication administration in Brazilian nursing journals between 1987 and 2008. From a survey in the main health databases, we reviewed literature about the theme in six Brazilian journals, classifying the articles into care, teaching, research, technique, medication errors, communication and specific drugs. One hundred eight articles were identified, particularly in the Revista Latino-Americana de Enfermagem and the Revista Brasileira de Enfermagem. The author Cassiani and the category specific drugs stand out as responsible for the largest number of articles published. Efforts need to be added up with a view to a more expressive production of articles on medication administration

Aplicaçao do instrumento de monitoramento do Sisprenatal Secretaria de Saúde em Mato Grosso

Linhas de Cuidado em Saúde Materna, Neonatal e do LactanteCom o objetivo de Avaliar a utilização o roteiro de monitoramento dos dados do SISPRENATAL na Secretaria de Saúde do Estado de Mato Grosso, foi primeiramente elaborado um instrumento para o monitoramento utilizando indicadores de acesso, acesso a exames laboratoriais e indicadores de classificação de risco . Instrumento apresentado a equipe de saúde da mulher da Coordenadoria de Ações Programáticas (COAPRE) . Me todologia: após a estruturação do instrumento de monitoramento do SISPRENATAL, foi agendada uma reunião com a equipe da Saúde da Mulher da Coordenadoria de Ações Programáticas para apresentação do instrumento. Conclusão: a equipe da COAPRE descreve o instr umento como interessante tendo em vista a atual conjuntura do SISPRENATA

Nossa dissertação tem como objetivo principal analisar a teoria da verdade em santo Tomás de Aquino, mais especificamente, o problema da adequação entre o objeto conhecido e o intelecto que conhece. Através da análise epistêmico-metafísica, santo Tomás deve demonstrar como é possível obter conhecimento racional dos diversos entes e como este conhecimento deve estar exatamente proporcionado ao intelecto que conhece. Santo Tomás também resolve um problema que reside no fato de a alma dos indivíduos serem essencialmente unas e distintas umas das outras, necessariamente o conhecimento gerado por elas ser também individual e, contudo, a verdade, que é universal deve ela ser comunicada a todos, gerando assim uma tensão entre as diversas almas que conhecem individualmente e a noção da unidade na universalidade da verdade
