Soldados brasileiros na II Grande Guerra: um estudo da mem?ria dos combatentes do munic?pio de Get?lio Vargas (RS)

The present work deals with the recovery of the memory of the combatants of World War II, natural of the municipality of Get?lio Vargas in the north of Rio Grande do Sul. For this, it was using interviews with relatives of three veterans who participated in the conflict, and an interview already transcribed and filed in the Historical and Geographical Institute of Get?lio Vargas, to which he left to begin this study, besides the testimony of an Army reservist who can not join the conflict, all based on Oral History methodologies and, to to arrive clearly with the recollection of this fact, the research in a contextual way is based on the analysis of two university professors, Ricardo Seitenfus and Francisco Cesar Alves Ferraz, about the participation of Brazil in the War and subsequent to this and guided by four dissertations in History is done an approach on the Brazilian Expeditionary Force, so that there is not a purely rev isionist, but more in-depth analysis of what historiography shows about the fact. In addition to having seven testimonies of Veterans of War, already published by the Brazilian Army in the year 2001. Having as main objective the memory of these veterans, it is important to recover part of the history of the military of the Brazilian interior that are sometimes forgotten by the people who once defended it. Thus, this research brings a breakthrough in the history of these getulienses citizens forgotten in time.O presente trabalho trata sobre a recupera??o da mem?ria dos combatentes da Segunda Guerra Mundial, naturais do mun?cipio de Get?lio Vargas no norte do Rio Grande do Sul. Para isso, foi utilizando entrevistas com familiares de tr?s veteranos que participaram do conflito, e uma entrevista j? transcrita e arquivada no Instituto Hist?rico e Geogr?fico de Get?lio Vargas, ao qual se partiu dela para iniciar esse estudo, al?m do testemunho de um reservista do Ex?rcito que n?o pode ingressar no conflito, tudo isso com base nas metodologias de Hist?ria Oral e, para se chegar com clareza na rememora??o desse fato, a pesquisa de maneira contextual ? baseada na an?lise de dois professores universit?rios, Ricardo Seitenfus e Francisco Cesar Alves Ferraz, acerca da participa??o do Brasil na Guerra e subsequente a isso e norteado por quatro disserta??es em Hist?ria se faz uma abordagem sobre a For?a Expedicion?ria Brasileira, de modo que n?o fique um trabalho puramente revisionista, mas de an?lise mais aprofundada acerca do que a historiografia mostra sobre o fato. Al?m de contar com sete depoimentos de Veteranos de Guerra, j? publicados pelo Exercito Brasileiro no ano de 2001. Efficiency of Brazilian food and beverage industry post productive restructuring

This paper aims to analyze the technical efficiency of the Brazilian food and beverage industry post productive restructuring, under the hypothesis that foreign firms would be more efficient than the Brazilian ones. The analytical framework for efficiency was Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) and Tobit model. DEA only measures the “relative” technical efficiency; that is to say that there is evidence of huge variance in technical efficiency, but we cannot conclude that the absolute level of efficiency is low. It was observed that the companies with high efficiency levels were those with the highest volume of sales. Thus, efficiency was not determined only by the nationality of the firms, since the possibility of the accomplishment of profitable businesses, mainly in association with great retail networks, could be indicated as a determinant for greater efficiency. As for the determinants of efficiency, it was observed that a proper financial administration, characterized by a good use of investments within these companies, was the main factor responsible for an improvement in performance

Inconsistências de cabeçalhos de assunto : propostas de sistematização

Subject headings are information tools for document subject/form representation. They are used to produce alphabetical subject catalogues and cannot be considered as a documentary language since they constitute descriptive lists and present inconsistencies. Samples of BIBLIODATA system subject headings were selected for analysis, aiming at identifying such inconsistencies and presenting proposals for their systematization. The study is based on principles of concept theory, categorial analysis and citation arder. Variables selected were: ambiguity, inexpressiveness and inconsistent syntax of simple and compound subjects. Language syntax is observed in subject headings for simple subjects and absolute syntaxe in subject headings for compound subjects. These are analysed after citation arder of their constitutive ideas. Some guidelines are proposed as a result of variables selected for this research.Cabeçalhos de assunto constituem-se num dos tipos de instrumento de representação de assunto e/ou formas de documentos e são utilizados para produzir catálogos de assunto. Entretanto, não podem ser considerados linguagens documentárias, principalmente porque utilizam lista descritiva e apresentam inconsistências. Amostras de cabeçalhos da lista do Sistema BIBLIODATA são analisadas com base na teoria do conceito, na análise categórica e na ordem-de-citação, com o objetivo de identificar inconsistências e propor diretrizes de sistematização. As variáveis estudadas são: ambiguidade, inexpressividade e inconsistência da sintaxe dos cabeçalhos que designam assuntos simples e compostos. A sintaxe linguística é observada nos cabeçalhos que nomeiam assuntos simples e a sintaxe absoluta nos que nomeiam assuntos compostos. Estes são analisados segundo a ordem de citação das ideias que os compõem. Algumas diretrizes são propostas como decorrência das variáveis estudadas
