Las ediciones de manuscritos y los estudios publicados en los últimos años son instrumentos de gran utilidad para quienes deseen adentrarse en un campo de investigación con repercusión en otras áreas tales como la historia del texto bíblico hebreo, su exégesis o los inicios de la gramática. Se analizan tres cuestiones: distinta formulación para una misma noticia, coherencia entre un texto y su masora y posibles discrepancias entre las fuentes.[EN] This article has a didactic purpose; it is not aimed at scholars of the Masora but rather at researchers in closely associated areas. The editions of Hebrew Biblical manuscripts and critical studies that have been published recently are particularly useful tools for those who wish to delve into other areas of research such as the history of the Hebrew Biblical text, its exegesis or the origins of grammar. Here, the author concentrates on the analysis of three issues: variant formulations of a same information; coherence between a text and its Masorah, and the possible discrepancies among sources.Peer reviewe

La imagen al servicio del texto: masora ornamental en el manuscrito bíblico hebreo BH Mss1

The Masoretic notes that appear alongside the biblical text written in geometric or figured shapes are little studied to date. The few existing studies usually focus on the form without paying attention to the content. The biblical Hebrew manuscript BH Mss1 (M1) has a huge number of Masoretic notes in figured patterns and while the existence of figured Masorah has been addressed, their designs have not been described and studied in relation to their content. This paper focuses on the figured Masorah notes, their location, shape and content. From a joint analysis of the form and content it is possible to conclude that the main purpose behind writing the Masorah in figured patterns in M1 is a practical one: to record all the information in the available space.Las noticias masoréticas escritas en formas geométricas o figurativas que aparecen junto al texto bíblico han sido poco estudiadas hasta la fecha. Los escasos estudios existentes se suelen centrar en la forma, sin tener en cuenta el contenido. El manuscrito bíblico BH Mss1 (M1) contiene un gran número de noticias masoréticas en forma figurativa que, si bien ya habían sido mencionadas, sus diseños no han sido descritos ni estudiados en relación con su contenido. El presente trabajo se centra en las noticias de Masora figurativa, su localización, forma y contenido. El análisis conjunto de la forma y el contenido de las noticias permite concluir que la razón principal para escribir la Masora en forma figurativa en M1 es práctica

Paul E. Kahle y Federico Pérez Castro: los orígenes de la Escuela de Crítica Textual Bíblica de Madrid

[EN] We have frequently been asked about the origins of the Madrid School of Biblical Text Criticism. We have limited the content of this paper to Masoretic studies. Research into the files of the former Instituto Arias Montano of the CSIC disclosed a series of unedited letters between Professors Kahle and Pérez Castro; a paper by F. Pérez Castro and F. Cantera Burgos on “Prof. Paul E. Kahle y los estudios de crítica textual bíblica en España,” and a description by F. Pérez Castro of the first project to edit the Cairo Codex of the Prophets. Through these materials we can trace the main steps of the relationship between these two relevant scholars and the role that such a relationship played in the origin and late development of these studies in Madrid.[ES] Paul E. Kahle y Federico Pérez Castro: los orígenes de la escuela de crítica textual bíblica de madrid.— A menudo se nos ha preguntado por los orígenes de la escuela de crítica textual bíblica de Madrid. Hemos limitado el contenido de este artículo a los estudios masoréticos. Investigando en los archivos del antiguo Instituto Arias Montano del CSIC hemos encontrado una colección de cartas inéditas entre los Profesores Kahle y Pérez Castro; un artículo escrito por F. Pérez Castro y F. Cantera Burgos titulado «Prof. Paul E. Kahle y los estudios de crítica textual bíblica en España», y la descripción hecha por Pérez Castro del primer proyecto para editar el Códice de Profetas de El Cairo. Gracias a estos testimonios hemos podido documentar las principales fases de la relación entre estos dos eminentes profesores y el papel que tal relación desempeñó en el origen y posterior desarrollo de estos estudios en Madrid.Peer reviewe

Effects of resistance training on the body fat in obese people: systematic review

La obesidad, una de las enfermedades más preocupantes hoy en día, ha impulsado la búsqueda de nuevas estrategias interdisciplinares entre la comunidad científica. Una línea de investigación de actual relevancia es la que analiza en qué medida un programa de intervención con cargas tiene efecto sobre la reducción de la obesidad. En este trabajo se revisa la producción bibliográfica hasta el año 2011 que ha investigado el efecto de los programas basados única y exclusivamente en entrenamiento con cargas, sobre la grasa corporal en personas obesas. Los resultados son divergentes, pues la mitad de estudios concluyen que el entrenamiento con cargas reduce la grasa corporal y la otra mitad no, si bien en ningún estudio se ha incrementado significativamente la grasa corporal de los participantes. Se aportan cuáles han sido los parámetros de entrenamiento y se sugieren pautas para la investigación a corto plazo sobre este particularNowadays obesity is a disease of high prevalence, that’s why scientific community is interested to research it. A line of relevant investigation is to analyze effects of strength training on reduction of obesity. This paper reviews the bibliographic research until the year 2011 which analyzed if the strength training reduces body fat of obese people. Results found are divergent. Half of studies conclude that training with loads reduces body fat and the other half do not. However, there are not studies where participants increased their body fat. Personalized evaporative cooler to reduce energy consumption and improve thermal comfort in free-running spaces

Producción CientíficaThe need to reduce energy consumption in buildings is imperative, but we must maintain individual thermal comfort of the occupants to ensure their well-being and productivity. Personal conditioning systems (PCS) have been suggested as a strategy to achieve both energy efficiency and thermal comfort, as they are considered to be low-energy consumers, allow increasing set-point temperatures, and give occupants the chance to control their own personal environment. While most warm-environment PCS are based on air-movement devices, the potential of using desk direct evaporative coolers (dDEC) has been scarcely explored. This work presents the results of the characterization of a dDEC and its potential for improving the indoor temperature and thermal comfort in a free-running office space. The study proposes adapted corrective power (CPa) and cooling fan efficiency for evaporative systems (CFEe) indexes. Results show that the dDEC achieves thermal comfort with a local effect, and it is recommended to be positioned directly on the desk surface, orientated to the occupant, and at a certain distance. Under these conditions, the CPa reaches −2.8 °C, involving better CFEe than the desk fans studied in the literature. Speed has little effect on the local air conditions, though it does improve the perception of thermal comfort. No es así, aunque así os parezca: Los Sebīrīn del Libro de Josué

This article makes part of a didactic project already used by the author elsewhere. In this case the masoretic phenomenon of the sebīrīn is explained, and those of the book of Joshua   are   analyzed   in   the   masoroth   of   codices   Cairo,  Aleppo,   Leningrad   B19a, Complutensian University M1, and the Rabbinic Bible of Jacob Ben Hayim. The thesis that the sebīrīn are readings wrongly suggested and that they are to be rejected is maintained.Este trabajo forma parte de un proyecto didáctico ya empleado por la autora en otros artículos. En este caso se explica el fenómeno masorético de los sebīrīn y se colacionan los del libro de Josué con las masoras del Códice de Profetas de El Cairo, Alepo, B19a de Lenigrado, M1 de la Universidad Complutense de Madrid, y la Biblia Rabínica de Jacob Ben Hayyîm. Se defiende la tesis de que los sebīrīn son lecturas que se proponen pero que deben ser rechazadas
