Gevrey expansions of hypergeometric integrals II

We study integral representations of the Gevrey series solutions of irregular hypergeometric systems under certain assumptions. We prove that, for such systems, any Gevrey series solution, along a coordinate hyperplane of its singular support, is the asymptotic expansion of a holomorphic solution given by a carefully chosen integral representation.Comment: 27 pages, 2 figure

The internet: strategy and boundaries of the firm

Many advantages have been ascribed to the Internet. Although it lacks the necessary elements to be regarded as a strategic resource, the Internet seems to be a useful tool to provide support for business strategies.In this work we discuss how the Internet can be used to support the development of capabilities and define firm boundaries. Using a sample of Spanish firms, empirically analysed, we find positive relationships between the use of the Internet and product differentiation, as well as the introduction of organizational changes. In addition, we present evidence that the Internet reduces both internal coordination costs and transaction costs as a result of the positive relationships found between the use of the Internet, the degree of vertical integration and the establishment of technological agreements with suppliers and customers

Graphene Based Poly(Vinyl Alcohol) Nanocomposites Prepared by In Situ Green Reduction of Graphene Oxide by Ascorbic Acid: Influence of Graphene Content and Glycerol Plasticizer on Properties

The enhanced properties of polymer nanocomposites as compared with pure polymers are only achieved in the presence of well-dispersed nanofillers and strong interfacial adhesion. In this study, we report the preparation of nanocomposite films based on poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) filled with well dispersed graphene sheets (GS) by in situ reduction of graphene oxide (GO) dispersed in PVA solution using ascorbic acid (L-AA) as environmentally friendly reductant. The combined effect of GS content and glycerol as plasticizer on the structure, thermal, mechanical, water absorption, and water barrier properties of PVA/GS nanocomposite films is studied for the first time. Higher glass transition temperature, lower crystallinity, melting, and crystallization temperature, higher mechanical properties, and remarkable improvement in the thermal stability compared to neat PVA are obtained as a result of strong interfacial interactions between GS and PVA by hydrogen bonding. PVA/GS composite film prepared by ex situ process is more brittle than its in situ prepared counterpart. The presence of GS improves the water barrier and water resistance properties of nanocomposite films by decreasing water vapor permeability and water absorption of PVA. This work demonstrates that the tailoring of PVA/GS nanocomposite properties is enabled by controlling GS and glycerol content. El flamenco en las retransmisiones en directo de Cadena Cope de Jerez de la Frontera

La finalidad de este Trabajo Fin de Grado es realizar un análisis del efecto que produjo el flamenco tras las retransmisiones que realizaba Cadena Cope en directo de los distintos festivales, recitales y eventos relacionados que producía el periodista y flamencólogo, Pepe Marín. Además de recordar a todos los que no vivimos aquellos maravillosos años de flamenco en la Radio Popular de Jerez. La hipótesis de este estudio es demostrar el cambio que produjeron las ondas al flamenco, que anteriormente se encontraba acotado a un tipo de grupo, y gracias a la radio pasa a ser conocido no solo por los habitantes de Jerez de la Frontera, sino incluso a nivel nacional, provocando que comience una afición que hace de Jerez una cuna del estudio de este arte.Universidad de Sevilla. Enunciación y discurso político

El proceso de la enunciación tiene un lugar privilegiado en el estudio de las implicaciones ideológicas de los personajes en un acto comunicativo y, sobre todo, si el objetivo es la elaboración de un mensaje con un significado político. Y por lo que se puede encontrar en el contexto del Día de Extremadura, cuando el Presidente de nuestra región le da "una declaración institucional" a la multitud en Trujillo. A través de las referencias a las personas en el discurso, la cuantificación de los pronombres personales, posesivos, verbos y la sintaxis recurrente, queremos aclarar cuáles son los objetivos ideológicos y qué tipo de discurso se crea entre 1987 y 1992 con su presencia o su ausencia.The process of statement has a privileged place to study the ideological implications of the characters in a communicative act and, especially, if the aim is to elaborate a message with a political significance. And so it can be found in the context of the Day of Extremadura, when the President of our region gives "an institutional statement" to the crowd in Trujillo. Configuración de los medios de comunicación como condicionante de la imagen de los países del sur. Relaciones Norte-Sur

Han sido muchos los debates que han existido sobre la forma de transmitir a la opinión pública las informaciones que trataban de la desigualdad entre países del Sur y del Norte. Tal labor de transmisión es llevada a cabo por los diferentes medios de comunicación que, en muchos casos, emiten este tipo de mensajes de forma descontextualizada provocando que la sociedad obtenga una imagen falsa de la realidad de los países del Sur. Cabe plantearse: ¿Por qué los medios de comunicación de los países del Norte transmiten las realidades del Sur de forma sesgada? E incluso ¿por qué en muchos casos ni tan siquiera estos países forman parte de su agenda? En la actualidad, los massmedia son instituciones con fin de lucro muy alejados del papel que les correspondería, el de ser objetivos e imparciales en las noticias que emiten debido a la gran repercusión social y a la importancia que tienen en la conformación de ideales y de estados de opinión de la población a la que se dirigen. La información se ha convertido en mercancía generando su difusión enormes beneficios. Los intereses del mercado no apuestan por la verdad, por la ética o por una aproximación rigurosa a la realidad, sino principalmente por la audiencia. La pobreza y el Tercer Mundo no existen más que cuando generan espectáculo.There have been many debates about the way of transmitting information about disparity among Southern and Northern countries to the public opinion. Such transfer work is carried out by different mass media which, in many cases, express these kind of messages in a decontextualized form, providing society with a false image of Southern countries reality. One question should be made: Why mass media from Nothern countries give a biased reality from Southern ones? and even, why in many cases Southern countries do not form part of Northern countries' agenda? Nowadays, mass media are profit-making organisms and are too far of the role they should play: being objective and impartial when broadcasting news due to the great social repercussion and also becacause of the importance they have in conforming the aimed population ideals and opinions. Infomation has become merchandise which gererates huge benefits with its spreading. Market interest is not concerned with trues, ethics or a rigorous appoximation to reality, but mainly for the audience. Poverty and the third world do not exist if they do not generate a profit. Migrations on the Spanish-Algerian Agenda: On Social Reality and Bilateral Invisibility

Las migraciones entre España y Argelia son una constante histórica que ha tenido escasa relevancia en la agenda bilateral hispano‐argelina. La intensidad de temas como la seguridad o los intercambios económicos, han favorecido que las migraciones y movilidades se mantengan en un segundo plano político. Este artículo pretende mostrar la posición real del fenómeno migratorio en las relaciones hispano‐argelinas entre 1985 y 2014. Para ello se ha realizado un análisis transversal de la agenda bilateral, las iniciativas parlamentarias españolas y la evolución de sendos contextos migratorios, además de aportar la opinión de siete expertos nacionales e internacionales consultadosMigrations between Spain and Algeria are an historical constant that are not showed enough in the Algerian Hispanic agenda. Operaciones traductológicas de resignificación del Holocausto. Ideología y ética en su representación

Representations are by definition acts of resignification, to the extent that the original meaning of the reality which is brought to the present is modelled according to the personal circumstances and worldview of the social agent in charge of the representation. Insofar as language is the vehicle used to shape our worldview, it is inevitable that representations are ideologically biased. In this paper, I intend to analyse, through Holocaust literature translations, some of the resignification operations to which the Nazi genocide has been subjected. In addition to reflecting on the ethical implications of these kinds of interventions, our objective shall be to raise awareness of the image, at times distorted, that exists in the collective imaginary.Toda representación es, en sí misma, un acto de resignificación, en virtud del cual el significado original de la realidad que se pretende hacer presente se articula de acuerdo con las circunstancias personales y la visión del mundo del agente social que inicia dicha representación. En tanto en cuanto el lenguaje es el medio empleado para dar forma a cualquier representación, es inevitable que el resultado sea un constructo ideológico. A través de la traducción de dos textos de literatura del Holocausto, “El chal” de Cynthia Ozick y “Comandante de Auschwitz: autorretrato de un verdugo” de Rudolf Höss, en este artículo pretendemos analizar las operaciones de resemantización a las que se ha sometido a las representaciones del genocidio nazi. Además de reflexionar acerca de las implicaciones éticas que encierran este tipo de intervenciones, nuestro objetivo se centrará en crear conciencia acerca de la imagen, a veces desvirtuada, que existe del Holocausto en el imaginario colectivo

Allegorical traces of the traumatic in Cynthia Ozick's "The Shawl"

Despite the fact that Cynthia Ozick’s The Shawl is modelled in a manner that apparently runs counter the propriety imperatives that should guide Holocaust representations, this image-based recreation of the Nazi genocide has established itself as a canonical text. This is largely due to the fact that the book is intended to create awareness about the inner world of Nazi concentration camps. Ozick’s purpose in writing the story is, moreover, to unveil the deadly meaning that survival acquired for those who, having stepped out of hell, found themselves in another kind of hell: the post-Holocaust world. In this sense, it is possible to argue that even if Ozick’s text does not contain the same kind of truth available in historical documents it provides a no less valuable insight. Most importantly, Ozick’s insight into the Nazi genocide is in compliance with the ethical principles ruling Holocaust representation.A pesar de que The Shawl, de Cynthia Ozick, responde a un modelo discursivo que contradice los imperativos éticos que han de guiar las representaciones del Holocausto, esta recreación metafórica del genocidio nazi se ha consolidado como texto canónico dentro del género. La clave radica en que el libro pretende crear conciencia acerca de lo ocurrido en el interior de los campos de concentración nazis. Pretende asimismo desvelar el significado que adquirió la vida para los supervivientes, que, tras sobrevivir al infierno, se vieron envueltos en un nuevo infierno: la vida después. En ese sentido, hay que decir que, si bien el texto de Ozick no encierra la misma verdad que los documentos históricos, proporciona una imagen no menos valiosa. Y, lo más importante, encaja con los principios éticos que regulan las representaciones del Holocausto
