    Counselor Professional Identity of Counselor Profession Education

    This paper describes professional identity of counselor educators teaching ina counselor profession education in Indonesia. The counselor identitiy was explored using a self-reported semi-open questionnaire and a focus-group discussion.Using the questionnaire, the couselors self-assessed their competency level of 75 competence-statement based on government's regulation. Their self-assessed level of competencies was compared to factors like age, teaching experiences, professional development as well as their self-efficacy toward the counselor competencies mandated by government. To confirm the survey findings, a focus-group discussion was held and revealed culture-specific competencies that were not explicated in the regulation but deemed an important characteristic of the counselors' identity. The study found that the counselors described themselves having average level of the mandated competencies and developing culture-specific competency related to technology literacy. The findings provide recommendation to set up context-suited professional development training that prepare the counselors for teaching in the profession training

    Pengembangan Model Bimbingan Klasikal untuk Meningkatkan Motivasi Belajar Siswa SMP. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan model bimbingan klasikal untuk meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa SMP di Kulon Progo Yogyakarta dan mengetahui efektivitas modelnya. Pendekatan penelitian adalah Research and Development dengan subjek penelitian siswa dan guru bimbingan dan konseling. Metode pengumpulan data adalah angket bimbingan klasikal dan inventori motivasi belajar. Analisis data menggunakan uji t dan deskriptif. Bimbingan klasikal dilaksanakan melalui interaksi edukatif, menggunakan metode ceramah, tanya jawab, diskusi, media film, LCD, hand out, papan tulis, terjadwal sepuluh pertemuan, disusun satuan layanan dengan topik delapan faktor instriksik motivasi belajar siswa. Uji efektivitas model menggunakan pretest dan posttest motivasi belajar siswa. Secara keluruhan, hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa bimbingan klasikal efektif digunakan untuk meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa SMP di Kulon Progo dengan kontribusi peningkatan 44,99%

    Penelitian ini merupakan kelanjutan penelitian tahap pertama. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengembangkan suatu model layanan Bimbingan dan Konseling bagi siswa melalui pembuatan media bimbingan dan konseling pada guru pembimbing di tingkat SMP. Tujuan khusus dalam penelitian ini adalah : revisi terhadap draft buku naskah layanan Bimbingan dan Konseling hasil penelitian tahun pertama, pembuatan modul pelatihan media Bimbingan dan Konseling, melatih para guru pembimbing di SMP untuk membuat media Bimbingan dan Konseling, terwujudnya produk media Bimbingan dan Konseling yang berupa materi layanan bimbingan, papan bimbingan, leaflet, satuan layanan bimbingan, dan slogan. Metode pendekatan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan penelitian dan pengembangan (research and development), yang langkah-langkahnya disederhanakan menjadi 5 (lima) tahap yaitu survey awal, pelaksanaan pengembangan, validasi, evaluasi, dan pelaporan. Subjek penelitian adalah para guru pembimbing di SMP Kabupaten Kulon Progo yang berjumlah 30 orang. Reviewer naskah materi layanan Bimbingan dan Konseling dilakukan oleh peneliti, ahli layanan Bimbingan dan Konseling, dengan praktisi Bimbingan dan Konseling. Pelatihan media dilakukan oleh peneliti dan dua orang ahli media. Data penelitian ini dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan metode wawancara, observasi, dokumentasi, ceramah, brainstorming, diskusi, dan demonstrasi. Analisis data dilakukan secara kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil yang dicapai dalam penelitian pada tahap kedua adalah sebagai berikut: (1) Telah terrevisinya draft naskah materi layanan Bimbingan dan Koseling hasil penelitian tahun pertama; (2) Telah terwujudnya modul pelatihan media Bimbingan dan Konseling; (3) Telah terlatihnya para guru pembimbimbing di SMP untuk membuat media Bimbingan dan Konseling; dan (4) Telah terwujudnya produk media Bimbingan dan Konseling yang berupa papan bimbingan, leaflet, satuan layanan bimbingan.     The problems of junior high school students

    Problem is a state that is not in line with expectations and must be solved immediately. The junior high school student is in the early adolescent phase, which finds many major changes in him that can cause problems. Guidance and conseling services should be provided in accordance with the problems experienced by students and their needs. However, guidance and conseling teachers have difficulty identifying the problems that affect the giving of guidance and counseling services. This study observes the problems experienced by students in junior high school with the number of respondents as many as 193 students. They are first year students of junior high school in Yogyakarta. We analyzed student problems using survey methods with problem-based guidance and counseling instrument, namely Alat Ungkap Masalah (AUM) Umum. The results showed that the 3 highest problem experienced by junior high school students in Yogyakarta covered 45% of he Social Relationship, 44% Personality, and Physical Health got 40%

    The Effectiveness of Modelling Techniques in Improving Self-Efficacy of College Students

    Higher education is greatly oriented on academic and practical aspect of knowledge. Somehow, college students are supposed to eligible and excellent in their knowledge competency, performance, and their confidence, particularly their self-efficacy. It is expected to maximize their learning and themselves to be a qualified graduates. This research aimed to discover the effectiveness of modelling technique to increase self-efficacy in college students of Ahmad Dahlan University boarding school. It used quantitative approach with quasi experiment using non-equivalent pretest-posttest control group design. The research was college students of Ahmad Dahlan University boarding school, amounting to 129 students. The sampling technique in this study used purposive sampling. The criteria for the studied sample in this study was college students of Ahmad Dahlan University boarding school with low self-efficacy. To collect data, this research used self-efficacy scale. The data was then analyzed by using non-parametric statistics with the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. The results showed that there were differences in the results of the experimental group's self-efficacy before and after the treatment was given (sign = 0.018<0.05). These results implied that modelling technique was effective to increase self-efficacy college students of Ahmad Dahlan University boarding school.     The Ryff’s Psychological Well-Being Scale for Indonesian Higher Education Students: A RASCH Model Analysis

    The research aimed to examine the Ryff’s six factors model of psychological well-being that could be applied to higher education students in Indonesia by using the RASCH model. 425 higher education students completed adapted scales to assess demographic variables. The results showed that the person separation criteria scored 2.38 in the poor category, the item separation scored 12.21 in the very good category, the person reliability scored 0.85 in the good category, and the item reliability scored 0.99 in the very good category. The subscales of the PWB-42 showed accepted levels of reliability and the validity of the psychological well-being scale. The terms of the person and item strata separated criteria in the RASCH model showed good results. However, the statement items provided are not broad enough to reveal the condition of psychological well-being. Therefore, future higher education students research should develop more specific and context-appropriate items for a better operationalization of the Ryff’s theoretical model.

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pengaruh pengaturan tempat duduk terhadap motivasi belajar dan hasil belajar pada pembelajaran tematik integratif bagi peserta didik kelas IV SD Muhammadiyah Ponorogo. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen semu, dengan desain pretest-posttest with nonequivalent groups. Pretest dan Posttest digunakan untuk mengukur motivasi dan hasil belajar peserta didik. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang positif dan signifikan variasi gaya pengaturan tempat duduk terhadap motivasi dan hasil belajar peserta didik SD Muhammadiyah Ponorogo pada tema cita-citaku. Terbukti dari hasil uji-t dengan signifikansi 0,000 pada kelompok eksperimen I dan eksperimen II, artinya variasi gaya pengaturan tempat duduk mampu meningkatkan motivasi dan hasil belajar tema cita-citaku peserta didik SD Muhammadiyah Ponorogo

    PENINGKATAN KETERAMPILAN KOMUNIKASI INTERPERSONAL MELALUI TEKNIK DISKUSI KELOMPOK PADA SISWA KELAS VIII SMP NEGERI 1 WATES DAN SMP NEGERI 3 WATES YOGYAKARTA

    This study aimed to improve final year students of SMP Negeri 1 and SMP Negeri 3 Wates’ interpersonal communication skills through group discussion techniques. Classroom action research was conducted by using Kemmis and Taggart model.. The instrument of data collection used was observation guidelines and interpersonal communication skills’ scale. The results showed that the improvement of interpersonal communication skill of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 1 Wates and SMP Negeri 3 Wates could be done by using group discussion technique. This is evidenced by the increase in the average value of interpersonal communication skills. In the first cycle, the class VIII students of SMP Negeri 1 Wates increased by 43.8 points, while in the second cycle improved up to 74.7 points. For the class VIII students of SMP Negeri 3 Wates, the increase in first cycle was 26.5 points, while in the second cycle it was 75.7 points
