Agent SocialMetric enable teachers to meet students through its network relations, establishing the social structure of the class. We will confine the application to a case study in the field of High School and know the social climate in the classroom where students repeaters and determine if they are integrated with those who are not
Social Network Analysis shed light on a study case, a typical company with NodeXL
The interest in social network has extended to different disciplines, such as Computer Science. This approach brings Social Network Analysis (SNA) as the study of social structure in different environments, like companies. For this reason, the present paper highlights basic network information like graphs using actors and relations, and important concepts related to companies like hierarchy. Finally, to obtain a practical approach of SNA, we describe the company as a sociometric experiment using NodeXL to verify the contrast of traditional Company chart and the application of sociometry to data sets; keeping attention to show how employees make informal contact and the knowledge this brings. Furthermore, companies in society, are a system of actors joined by relationships

Characterization of the seed reserves in Tillandsia (Bromeliaceae) and ultrastructural aspects of their use at germination
Abstract The nature and the use of the reserves accumulated in the seed of Tillandsia, a markedly epiphyte genus, are especially important in consideration of the subsequent seedling development. As a matter of fact, the embryo radicle degenerates precociously without emerging at the germination and the sole function of the root system is that of anchoring to the substratum. The present cytochemical and ultrastructural study carried out on mature seeds has highlighted the presence of proteins and lipids, in both the endosperm and in the cotyledon, which are both well–developed; in addition, the endosperm contains starch and calcium oxalate. At germination the reserves, broken–down by enzymes, are absorbed by the cotyledon in whose epidermis ultrastructural modifications, correlated with this austorial function, appear. A part of the nutrients absorbed is initially stored in the large vacuoles, of aleuronic origin, of the cotyledon parenchyma. The result is a water uptake. It is in this manner that the wat..
Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy with the Adsorbing Filter oXiris in Septic Patients: A Case Series.
Background: Extracorporeal treatment may be useful during sepsis, but definitive recommendations are lacking. Aim of this study is to review retrospectively the medical records of septic patients submitted to continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) with the adsorbing membrane oXiris and evaluate (1) the safety of the device, (2) the cardiorenal response, and (3) the immunological response. Materials and Methods: The medical records of 60 septic patients submitted to CRRT with the membrane oXiris from April 2011 to December 2018 have been reviewed. The adsorbing membrane oXiris® (Baxter, IL, USA) was used through a Prisma plataform (Prismaflex – Baxter, IL, USA). At basal time (T0), at 24 h (T1), and at the end of the treatment (T2) were analyzed the clinical data, the cytokines, and the time course of endotoxin. Results: Sixty patients were included in the study. In total, 85% of patients had acute kidney injury (AKI). Every CRRT treatment was of 72 ± 13 h, with the consumption of 3.2 ± 1 filters. No AE events were reported. The main cardiorenal and respiratory parameters improved with a decrease of the noradrenaline dosage. Cytokines, procalcitonin, and endotoxin activity assay decreased too. SOFA total improved from 12.4 ± 2 to 9 ± 2. Conclusion: In sepsis/septic shock patients with AKI, CRRT with the adsorbing membrane oXiris may be safe and improves the cardiorenal – function and the clinical condition. The effect on cytokines and endotoxin may explain in part these results. A RCT is warranted to confirm these data
Using social network analysis in the classroom: a case study applying nodeXL
The interest in social networks has extended to different disciplines, such as Computer Science. This approach brings Social Network Analysis (SNA) as the study of social structure in different environments, like companies, establishment, and schools, among others. For this reason, this article highlights basic network information like graphs using actors and relations and important concepts related to classroom like structure which constitutes it. Therefore, the main aim of this research is to examine the educational use of SNA. Furthermore, schools in society are a system of actors joined by relationships. Accordingly, the current paper presents a qualitative analysis through a practical approach of SNA, by describing the classroom as a sociometric experiment using NodeXL, to verify the contrast keeping attention in show how students make informal contact and the knowledge that this brings.XIII Workshop Tecnología Informática Aplicada en Educación (WTIAE)Red de Universidades con Carreras en Informática (RedUNCI

Non-surgical treatment of hidradenitis suppurativa: the role of cryotherapy
Background. Hidradenitis suppurativa is a chronic and recurrent inflammatory disease with a great impact on a patient's quality of life, due to the painful involvement of very sensitive areas, such as the groin, mammary area, and genitals, with malodourous discharge. Multiple treatment options are available; however, no single treatment is effective for all patients, and usually, a combination of medical therapy with various surgical and physical procedures is provided. Cryotherapy is not a routine technique to treat HS, although usually available in the majority of medical clinics, and is cheaper than laser and surgical treatments. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of cryotherapy on persistent HS nodules, to reduce the burden of local disease. Materials and methodsRetrospective observational study in all patients treated with liquid nitrogen cryotherapy for persistent nodules of hidradenitis suppurativa in the last 2 years, with at least 6 months of follow-up after the procedure. Disease severity was assessed with Hurley staging and sonographic staging according to SOS-HS (18 MHz probe, Esaote-MyLab (TM)). The results were scored with a 0-3 points scale, as complete remission (3), partial response (2 to 1), or no response (0), after one session of treatment. Local cleansing and antiseptic treatment after the procedure was the same as previously performed in each patient, not to influence recovery. ResultsIn total, 23 patients were included, with a total of 71 persistent nodules treated with a single cryotherapy session. The treatment has been effective in 63 out of 71 nodules treated (88.7%), and the patients attested that they recommend the treatment, the discomfort during recovery was minimal, and the management was not different from daily routine. Persistence was considered as having a failure rate (11.3% overall) and occurred in 7.5% of the nodules of the axillary region, 18.2% on the groin, and 11.2% for nodules of the gluteal region. ConclusionCryotherapy is a simple and effective procedure for the treatment of persistent nodules of HS not responding to medical therapy, and it is a valid alternative to local surgery or laser ablation
