In this era of technology and information proliferating, programming skills are needed. Technology affects every area of life from industry, business, communication, transportation, health, and others. Everyone has the same opportunity to learn and master technology thus programming language courses are needed to provide education, innovation, and improvement of skills and abilities in the field of programming and data science to the public. Until now, programming language courses still use the conventional system, where everything is done manually, from class registration, class scheduling, teaching and learning process, and payment processing which results in many archives that must be stored for administrative purposes and require a relatively large amount of time for customers to come to the course location. Therefore, an information technology-based system is needed to fix the weaknesses of the old system. In this study, an Android-based programming language course application is designed to facilitate customers and course owners in teaching and learning activities and transactions. The design in this study uses the waterfall method, which consists of five stages, needs analysis, design, code, testing, and maintenance. The results obtained from testing applications using questionnaires on programming language course applications are 80% stated by course customers, where the application is easy to use, faster, and more practical in registering. In conclusion, this designed application can make it easier for customers to carry out teaching and learning activities and transact quickly and practically

Determining the effects of environmental factors on nesting success of migrant and breeding game birds is paramount especially in man-made environments. Using Poisson regression, we investigated the influence on the number of chicks fledged per nest (N = 207) of nest placement, proximity of cereal crops and water sources, taking into account possible phenological and spatial differences between the five studied orchards. The best model, selected by Akaike criterion, shows positive linear effects of distance from the nest to the trunk, to closest cereal crops and a quadratic effect of nest height (with an optimum at 1.6m). In Guelma’s orange groves, nest placement and proximity to cereal crops have a direct impact on the productivity of Turtle doves. Further researches on other tree species (fruit and forest ones) are necessary to: (i) assess their importance for breeding Turtle doves and (ii) determine the effect of environmental variables on the maintenance of the species

CEO’s commitment bias, ownership concentration, and innovation decision: Behavioral management of CEO’s discretion

This paper deals with approving the effect of both a governance system and individual cognitive and emotional features in the financial analysis of a firms’ innovation decision. After discussing the theoretical linking between ownership concentration and the CEO’s attitude and behavior, we are showing on empirical grounds the relationship between the manager’s behavior toward the innovation decision and his cognitive commitment level. The CEO’s commitment bias and attitude conception were measured using a questionnaire. The data analysis was performed using the Bayesian network method on 220 Tunisian managers. In particular, we found that the application of a persuasion mechanism does not have a real impact on the alignment of the manager’s attitude and behavior in key tasks, such as the innovation decision. The CEO’s real behavior was more related to an important individual involvement in this behavior rather than to persuasive effort committed by block holders to make him contract this action. Attitude and behavior toward innovation appeared to be associated with psychological commitment “manager-task” which suggests that the disciplinary governance system plays no role in the process of a CEO’s discretion management. We argue that the persuasion approach is not an interesting path in behavior alignment; yet, it should be reinforced with the commitment approach for understanding manager choices

Ridge gourd (Luffa acutangula) is a climbing vegetable that produces edible fruits. Young fruits are harvested when the cotyledons have not yet formed. This study covered morphological characteristics, growth behavior, and cultivation practices suitable for increasing the production of the ridge gourd in the urban ecosystem. Results of observation revealed the heart-shape leaf of the ridge gourd was very uniform and the leaf surface was flat so that their leaf area could be accurately estimated using leaf length and/or width (R2 > 0.97), yet leaf thickness was not a reliable predictor for the leaf area (R2 < 0.34). The length of the petioles was not correlated with the leaf blade area. Single leaves, multiple tendrils, bunches of male flowers and/or single female flowers, and one branch could be formed at each stem node. Water content in leaf blade was lower than in the petiole. This phenomenon is related to water favor loss due to transpiration activity. Nevertheless, the total conserved water within the leaf blade was 6.26 times more than that within the petiole. The process of fruit enlargement followed the Sigmoid curve. The upper-end curve flattened 10 days after the female flower bloomed. Moreover, at 10 days, cotyledon has not yet formed. Based on the leaf SPAD value, by time the fruit began to enlarge, 4-5 leaves at the stem base were instigated to show symptoms of senescence. Ridge gourd fruit fresh weight can be best estimated using the length x diameter as the predictor

Aerospace structures are typical semi-monocoque structures that are made up of thin-walled closed section reinforced with stiffeners. Stress analysis of such closed thin-walled structures which are statically indeterminate is tedious and time consuming. An educational software which can aid students in stress analysis of such idealized thin-walled closed sections has been developed. The software enables students to select different types of wing torsion box sections with stiffeners, which may be subjected to bending, shear or torsional loads and evaluate the resulting stresses on it. The software allows the student to idealize a selected twin spar unsymmetrical wing section with multiple booms under multiple loads. Results from this software have been validated against the results in the literature. The software has been developed using MATLAB with graphical user interface (GUI) which is very user friendly. The software is expected to be a very useful tool for effec-tive teaching learning of courses on thin-walled structures and automotive/aircraft structures
