    The purpose of this research is to find out the interaction of compost TKKS and P fertilizer as well as finding the best dozage of chose on the growth of oil palm seedling (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.). This research was carried out at the Agricultural Faculty University of Riau Bina Widya Campus KM 12,5 Simpang Baru Tampan district, Pekanbaru. This research was 4 month start in August 2016 through Nopember 2016. This research utilize CRD (Completely Roudomized Design) which 2 factors. First factor is compositing of TKKS wich 3 level. Second factor is fertilizer P dozage wich 3 level. Both factor gave 9 treatment combination and wich 3 replication, so there are 27 experimental units. Each experimental units have 2 seedling, so that there were 54 seedling. Parameters observed were the plant height, number of leaves, seedling diameter, leaf area, root volume of seedlings, dry weight of seedling and root canopy ratio. Data were analyzed statiscally with variance and continued with Duncan New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at 5% level. The result of this research showed the interaction of compost fertilizer TKKS and P fertillizer give good influence to all parameters such as plant height, number of leaves, stem diameter, leaf area, root volume of seedling, dry weight of seedling and root canopy area in oil palm nursery age 7 months

    Functional rare males in diploid parthenogenetic Artemia

    Functional males that are produced occasionally in some asexual taxa - called 'rare males' - raise considerable evolutionary interest, as they might be involved in the origin of new parthenogenetic lineages. Diploid parthenogenetic Artemia produce rare males, which may retain the ability to mate with females of related sexual lineages. Here, we (i) describe the frequency of male progeny in populations of diploid parthenogenetic Artemia, (ii) characterize rare males morphologically, (iii) assess their reproductive role, using cross-mating experiments with sexual females of related species from Central Asia and characterize the F1 hybrid offspring viability and (iv) confirm genetically both the identity and functionality of rare males using DNA barcoding and microsatellite loci. Our result suggests that these males may have an evolutionary role through genetic exchange with related sexual species and that diploid parthenogenetic Artemia is a good model system to investigate the evolutionary transitions between sexual species and parthenogenetic strains. © 2013 European Society For Evolutionary Biology

    Preliminary results on the nutritional evaluation of omega-3-HUFA-enriched <i>Artemia</i> nauplii for larvae of the sea bass, <i>Dicentrarchus labrax</i>

    Freshly hatched San Pablo Bay and Great Salt Lake Artemia nauplii (omega-3-HUFA-poor) and enriched meta-nauplii (omega-3-HUFA-enriched)were compared to reference Artemia nauplii (omega-3-HUFA-rich) as a food source for the larvae of the sea bass, Dicentrarchus labrax. Significant differences in survival and biomass production between the treatments could be attributed to the omega-3-HUFA content of the food. A delayed mortality in fish larvae fed the Great Salt Lake Artemia is suspected to be caused by a high level of alpha-BHC in this Artemia source. Growth was not significantly different between the treatments, most probably due to the large variation in growth rate within the treatments, as well as the low number of surviving fish in some treatments

    Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk merancang sebuah aplikasi, dimana selama ini masalah yang dihadapi dalam persoalan untuk menentukan lokasi pasar untuk pedagang masih secara manual yaitu dengan cara melakukan penyeleksian bagi calon pedagang. Perancangan aplikasi terdiri dari rancangan output, rancangan input, dan rancangan file, dimana dengan menggunakan logika pemograman diharapkan input, proses dan output yang dihasilkan sesuai yang diharapkan. Manfaat dari penelitian ini yaitu agar dapat mempermudah dalam menentukan lokasi pasar untuk pedagang berdasarkan kriteria-kriteria yang telah ditetapkan oleh kantor pelayanan pasar secara efisien. Dan dalam perancangan aplikasinya, digunakan bahasa pemograman Visual Basic 6.0 dengan database MySql yang bertujuan agar lebih mudah dimengerti oleh pemakai (user)

    Symbol Message Passing Decoding of Nonbinary Low-Density Parity-Check Codes

    We present a novel decoding algorithm for q-ary low-density parity-check codes, termed symbol message passing. The proposed algorithm can be seen as a generalization of Gallager B and the binary message passing algorithm by Lechner et al. to q-ary codes. We derive density evolution equations for the q-ary symmetric channel, compute thresholds for a number of regular low-density parity-check code ensembles, and verify those by Monte Carlo simulations of long channel codes. The proposed algorithm shows performance advantages with respect to an algorithm of comparable complexity from the literature

    Basal cell adenoma of the parotid gland : Case report and review of the literature

    Basal cell adenoma of the salivary glands is an uncommon type of monomorphous adenoma. Its most frequent location is the parotid gland. It usually appears as a firm and mobile slow-growing mass. Histologically, isomorphic cells in nests and interlaced trabecules with a prominent basal membrane are observed. It is also characterized by the presence of a slack and hyaline stroma and the absence of myxoid or condroid stroma. In contrast to pleomorphic adenoma, it tends to be multiple and its recurrence rate after surgical excision is high. Due to prognostic implications, differential diagnosis with basal cell adenocarcinoma, adenoid cystic carcinoma and basaloid squamous cell carcinoma is mandatory.
