    A Review of Indonesian Pre-Service Teacher Certification Policy from the Point of View of the Philosophy of Vocational Education

    Teacher certification was a consequence of Indonesian teacher professional acknowledgement. In the first step, the certification was conducted for the existing teachers. It was started in 2006 and planned to be completed in 2015. Starting from 2016 pre-service teacher certificate, which should be obtained from the pre-service teacher professional education program, is a requirement for new teacher recruitment. The guideline of the program was regulated under the provision of Indonesian Minister of Education and Culture No. 87 2013. Based on this regulation, the participant prior education background could be: (a) educational bachelor degree in accordance with professional education program taken; (b) educational bachelor degree allied with professional education program taken; (c) non-educational bachelor/D-IV in accordance with professional education program taken; (d) non-educational bachelor/D-IV allied with professional education program taken; and (e) bachelor degree in psychology for pre and elementary school. From the point of view of the vocational education philosophy, the regulation was not completely appropriate. Vocational education will be effective when the instructor has had successful experience in the application of skills and knowledge to the operations and processes he undertakes to teach. From the deep review of philosophical aspect, characteristic of all prior learning of pre-service teacher professional education types, and vocational teacher theory found that hands-on skill and experience is a high priority requirement for vocational teacher. This type of competence was not owned by all participants who came from any type of prior education. Based on the program structure, it could be concluded that matriculation is the only part of the program where hands-on skill and experience could be delivered

    Realizing the demand-driven paradigm in vocational education: A case study on vocational high school teaching-industry partnership program

    The teaching-industry partnership program between schools and industry could be a good alternative to be implemented in vocational education. This research aims to describe the collaboration pattern between Vocational High School (VHS) and its industry partner. This research was conducted using the case study qualitative research method. The data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation. The informants were teachers, the head of the motorcycle-technician department, trainers from the industry, and senior technicians of the motorcycle maintenance workshop selected based on purposive sampling. The results show that in order to operate well, the program requires: 1.) A close relationship between the school and the industry; 2.) Agreement to share knowledge, skills, equipment, and funding between the two parties; and 3.) The willingness of the school to integrate industrial specificity into the learning system. This study also finds that the program just partially aligned with the demand-driven paradigm. Conformity has been realized in terms of preparing graduates' competence following the industry's need, but not yet in terms of the number of graduates required by the company. Given the limited time allocated to-face lectures CAD. the necessary learning media to overcome it. Designing learning video for practical subjects Auto CAD 2 dimension. Producting learning media appropriate for use as a media of learning in the classroom in the subject of Auto CAD 2 dimension. The process of product design in the form of video consists of three stages that are pra production, production and post production. In this research videos that have been produced packed with Adobe Flash CS5 to be more structured in understanding thecontains in the video. Due to the leaerning media has been made function during a one semester. Data collection techniques form of learning media assessment by questionnaires using experts. The experts included media specialists, instructional specialists and expert substance. The format of the questionnaire by semantik differensial. The analysis of data by descriptive quantitative with five criteria scores in this research, that are: very good, good, fair, less and much less. Base on results of data analysis it can be concluded that: feasibility learning media divided into three aspects: (1) aspects of substance obtain an average value of 4,167. According to the assessment criteria, then this learning media aspects of substance classified as good. (2) instructional aspect to obtain an average value of 3.58. According to the assessment criteria, it has been seen from the learning media instructional aspect is good. (3) Aspects of the media get the average value of 4.027. According to the assessment criteria, it has been seen from media’s aspect that the learning media is good. So the value of the final average learning media Auto CAD 2 Dimension engineering education is 3,924. So according to the assessment criteria, learning media is quite good

    Bamboo powder can be used as an alternative material non-asbestos lining brake of motorcycle. In this study, the composition of bamboo powder 35%, aluminium 15%, MgO 35%, resin 15% has a value that comes closest to the lining brake controls. The composition of bamboo powder 35%, aluminum 15%, MgO 35%, resin 15% has 0,82.10-8 mm 2 /kg wear rate. The composition of bamboo powder 35%, aluminium 15%, MgO 35%, resin 15% has 19.6 kg/mm 2 hardness rate. By varying the composition will get the most wear and optimum hardness.     ANALISIS STRUKTUR HASIL REPAIR WELDING TENTANG SIFAT FISIK DAN MEKANIK PADA CAST WHEEL ALUMINIUM DENGAN METODE PENGELASAN MIG

    This research aim to determine the chemical composition of the aluminum alloys, microstructure, hardness and impact strength before and after MIG welding method on the aluminum cast wheel. The electrodes used in the welding process is ER 535. The material used in this study is aluminum cast wheel with specifications: dimensions 16x7, PCD 4x120 product type of E35. The testing methods conducted in this study are chemical composition, microstructure test, hardness test and impact test. The equipment used are Spectrometer Metal Scan, Olympus Metallurgycal Microscope, Brinell Hardness Tester and Charpy Tester. The test results showed that the chemical composition of the aluminum cast wheel contains elements of 91.36% Al, 7.38% Si, and 0.803% Fe as well 0.05% Cu and Mg. The test results show that the microstructure of Al grain structure in the HAZ region fused with primary aluminum (α-Al) and grain Si Si alloy formed between the primary α-Al. The results of hardness test show that in the raw materials specimens is 57.56 kgf/mm², in the weld area is 44.20 kgf/mm² and the HAZ is 37.73 kgf/mm². The results of impact test on the raw material is 0.118 Joule/mm², while the weld area is 0.067 Joules/mm². The results of the test show that, hardness and impact strength due to welding less than the raw material on the aluminum cast wheel.     PENGARUH KECEPATAN PEMAKANAN DAN WAKTU PEMBERIAN PENDINGIN TERHADAP TINGKAT KEAUSAN CUTTER END MILL HSS HASIL PEMESINAN CNC MILLING PADA BAJA ST 40

    The purpose of this research was to determine the influence of feedrate variation, timing of cooling variation, and the interaction between feedrate and timing of cooling to rate wear HSS end mill cutter in machining result CNC milling with ST 40 steel. This research is an experimental research using two factor independent variable (feedrate and timing of cooling) and one dependent variable (rate wear of HSS end mill cutter). The results data of this research described using descriptive analytic method. The results of discussion with this method was enhancement of feedrate and timing of cooling the rate wear cutter increases. Type of cutter wear that occurs is flank wear and began to grow relatively quickly then followed by a relatively slow growth to a certain cutting. The smallest edge of the cutter rate wear occurs when interaction feedrate 0.11 mm/rev with a timing of cooling 10 minutes value is 562.57 μm, while the largest edge of the cutter rate wear occurs when interaction feedrate 0.15 mm/rev with a timing of cooling 20 minutes value is 958.65 μm. This research suggests that interaction between feedrate and timing of cooling has a certain influence to rate wear of HSS end mill cutter in machining result CNC milling with ST 40 steel.     The objective of this research is to find out the relevance of practical subjects (MKB-Mata Kuliah Berkarya) concentrated on automotive engine in Educational Study Program in Sebelas Maret University of Surakarta with industrial need of automotive services and vocational high school. This research includes evaluation research using descriptive method with qualitative and quantitative approaches. Conclusion of this research is, the appropriate level between MKB concentrated on automotive engineering of PTM JPTK FKIP UNS with industrial need of automotive services is stated “very appropriate/ very high” (81,27 % is appropriate and 18,73 % is not appropriate), and the appropriate level between MKB concentrated on automotive automotive engineering of PTM JPTK FKIP UNS with Vocational High School is stated “very appropriate/ very high” (83,34 % is appropriate and 15,66 % is not appropriate).     Serbuk tempurung kelapa dapat digunakan sebagai alternatif bahan kampas rem non-asbes sepeda motor. Dalam penelitian ini, pada komposisi serbuk tempurung kelapa 20%, serbuk aluminium 40%, resin 40% memiliki angka yang paling mendekati dengan kampas rem pembanding. Komposisi serbuk tempurung kelapa 20%, serbuk aluminium 40%, resin 40% memiliki angka keausan 0,071.10-7 mm2/kg. Komposisi serbuk tempurung kelpa 20%, serbuk aluminium 40%, resin 40% memiliki angka kekerasan 16,8 kgf/mm2. Dengan melakukan variasi komposisi akan didapat angka keausan dan kekerasan yang paling optimum. Variasi komposisi serbuk tempurung kelapa sangat berpengaruh terhadap angka keausan dan angka kekerasan sampel kampas rem. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk memperoleh gambaran tentang: (1) Faktor-faktor yang mendukung pelaksanaan ujian online menggunakan LMS Moodle,(2) Faktor -faktor yang menghambat pelaksanaan ujian online menggunakan LMS Moodle, (3) Kualitas ujian online menggunakan LMS Moodle, (4) Manfaat ujian online menggunakan LMS Moodle. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Program Studi Pendidikan Teknik Mesin FKIP UNS Surakarta. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif evaluatif model CIPP (Context, Input, Process, dan Product). Populasi penelitian ini adalah populasi yang terjangkau, yaitu 58 peserta ujian online Uji Kompetensi ke-4 mata kuliah pneumatik hidrolik semester tiga tahun angkatan 2012. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan angket, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Validitas yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah validitas isi. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini melalui analisis rata-rata yang dinilai berdasarkan kriteria evaluasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (1) Faktor-faktor yang mendukung pelaksanaan ujian online menggunakan LMS Moodle yaitu; (a) pada aspek konteks; kemampuan peserta dalam menggunakan aplikasi moodle cukup tinggi, sarana yang dimiliki mahasiswa untuk mengoprasikan aplikasi moodle cukup memadai, grafis/ tampilan aplikasi moodle cukup menarik, konten aplikasi moodle dalam ujian online cukup lengkap. (b) pada aspek input; upaya yang dilakukan peserta dalam meningkatkan kemampuan menggunakan aplikasi moodle cukup memadai, upaya yang dilakukan peserta dalam menyediakan sarana yang digunakan untuk mengoprasikan aplikasi moodle memadai, upaya yang dilakukan peserta dalam meningkatkan kemampuan penggunaan kontent aplikasi moodle memadai. (c) pada aspek proses; penggunaan sarana aplikasi moodle dalam pelaksanaan ujian online memadai, pemanfaatan konten aplikasi moodle dalam proses ujian online cukup mudah. (d) pada aspek produk; kualitas penilaian cukup tinggi, dan manfaat penilain tinggi. (2) Faktor-faktor yang menghambat ujian online menggunakan LMS Moodle adalah waktu pelaksanaan ujian online dan durasi waktu pelaksanaan ujian online. (3) Kualitas ujian online cukup tinggi. (4) Manfaat ujian online yang tinggi meliputi; kecermatan penilaian cukup tinggi, efisiensi waktu penilaian cukup tinggi, keefektifan penilaian cukup tinggi, kepraktisan pengerjaan cukup tinggi, aksessibilitas penilaian tinggi, kerahasiaan soal tinggi, pengamanan jawaban tinggi, pengamanan hasil penilaian tinggi.
