Dispersive estimates for massive Dirac operators in dimension two
We study the massive two dimensional Dirac operator with an electric
potential. In particular, we show that the decay rate holds in the
setting if the threshold energies are regular. We also show
these bounds hold in the presence of s-wave resonances at the threshold. We
further show that, if the threshold energies are regular that a faster decay
rate of is attained for large , at the cost of
logarithmic spatial weights. The free Dirac equation does not satisfy this
bound due to the s-wave resonances at the threshold energies.Comment: 40 page

This research is based on a survey of 840 participants from family businesses in Turkey. The findings revealed that market orientation positively contributed to organizational capabilities. Another purpose of the study is the mediating effects of organizational capabilities on the association between market orientation and firm performance. So, findings showed that entrepreneurial capability is significantly mediated. As a result, all hypotheses revealed in the research are supported.

The Influence of Storytelling Approach in Travel Writings on Readers’ Empathy and Travel Intentions
AbstractAs a fascinating concept, storytelling attracts many researchers from a variety of disciplines. Of particular interest is the power of storytelling both on a corporate and on a product level. However, its components and implications on the people and their behavioral intentions (i.e., word and mouth, visit intention) within travel marketing are limited. In this study, we empirically investigated the relationship between the components of storytelling, empathy and behavioral intentions. By studying 155 readers, we found that perceived esthetics, narrative structure, self-reference will evoke reader empathy. We also showed that empathy was found to generate positive emotional response and behavioral intentions toward travel destination. In this sense, we suggested that travel narratives need to consider esthetics, narrative structure and relevance to readers and empathy can be considered as a determinant of emotion in the research of marketing
Decreased ocular pulse amplitude and retinal nerve fibre layer in multiple sclerosis
This study was conducted to assess ocular pulse amplitude and retinal nerve fibre layer in patients with multiple sclerosis and their correlation with disease duration and with severity. Retinal nerve fibre layer thickness was measured by Heidelberg Retinal Tomography II (HRT-II; Heidelberg Engineering, Dossenheim, Germany) and ocular pulse amplitude was measured by dynamic contour tonometry (Ziemer Ophthalmic Systems, Port, Switzerland) in 37 multiple sclerosis patients and 72 age- and gender-matched controls. Ocular pulse amplitude was significantly reduced and retinal nerve fibre layer was significantly thinner in temporal, superotemporal, and nasal sectors in patients with multiple sclerosis regardless of having an optic neuritis attack. The retinal nerve fibre layer was thinner in eyes with a previous optic neuritis attack compared with the eyes without an attack, but the difference was not significant. Ocular pulse amplitude showed a positive correlation with visual evoked potential amplitude and a negative correlation with visual evoked potential latency. Retinal nerve fibre layer thickness showed a significant negative correlation with the disease duration but not with visually evoked potential, disease severity, nor previous optic neuritis. These findings indicate that the process of degeneration starts in the early period of the disease, as our study group is composed of early-middle-stage multiple sclerosis patients, and is independent of relapses. © Informa Healthcare USA, Inc
KRAS Mutation in Small Cell Lung Carcinoma and Extrapulmonary Small Cell Cancer
Background: Lung cancer is one of the most lethal cancers. It is mainly classified into 2 groups: non-small cell lung can-cer (NSCLC) and small cell lung cancer (SCLC). Extrapul-monary small cell carcinomas (EPSCC) are very rare. The Ras oncogene controls most of the cellular functions in the cell. Overall, 21.6% of human cancers contain a Kirsten Ras (KRAS) mutation. SCLC and EPSCC have several similar features but their clinical course is different.Aims: We investigated the KRAS mutation status in SCLC and EPSCC.Study design: Mutation research. Methods: Thirty-seven SCLC and 15 EPSCC patients were included in the study. The pathological diagnoses were confirmed by a second pathologist. KRAS analysis was performed in our medical genetic department. DNA isola-tion was performed with primary tumor tissue using the QIAamp DNA FFPE Tissue kit (Qiagen; Hilden, Germany) in all patients. The therascreen KRAS Pyro Kit 24 V1 (Qia-gen; Hilden, Germany) was used for KRAS analyses. Results: Thirty-four (91.9%) of the SCLC patients were male, while 11 (73.3%) of the EPSCC l patients were fe-male. SCLC was more common in males, and EPSCC in females (p=0.001). A KRAS mutation was found in 6 (16.2%) if SCLC patients. The most common mutation was Q61R (CAA>CGA). Among the 15 EPSCC patients, 2 had a KRAS mutation (13.3%). When KRAS mutant and wild type patients were compared in the SCLC group, no differ-ence was found for overall survival (p=0.6).Conclusion: In previous studies, the incidence of KRAS mutation in SCLC was 1-3%; however, it was 16.2% in our study. Therefore, there may be ethnic and geographical differences in the KRAS mutations of SCLC. As a result, KRAS mutation should not be excluded in SCL
25-Hydroxy vitamin d levels and endothelial vasodilator function in normotensive women
Introduction: Vitamin D was shown to be related to endothelial function and bloodpressure. Reactive hyperaemia index (RHI) measurement by pulse arterial tonometryis a new method to evaluate vasodilator function of endothelium. We aimedto evaluate the relationship between vitamin D levels and RHI in women.Material and methods: We enrolled 56 normotensive, nonsmoker, normolipidemicand normoglycemic women, (23 with 25-OH-vita min D levels > 20 µg/l,and 33 with values lower than 20 µg/l). The cardiologist who was blind for vitaminD results executed measurements by pulse arterial tonometry. The measurementwas performed on the lying patient with pre- and post-occlusion measurementsof RHI by digital sensors placed on each index finger, by 5 minintervals. Pulse amplitudes were recorded, pre-occlusion and post-occlusionratio was compared by the software of device. Stepwise linear regression andmultiple regression analyses were performed to evaluate predictors of endothelialfunction. Results: The low vitamin D group had a lower RHI value than the normal vitaminD group (p = 0.042). In regression analysis, positive predictors of RHI wereserum 25-OHD (ß = 0.401; 95% CI 0.010-0.042, p = 0.002), serum albumin(ß = 0.315; 95% CI 0.286-2.350, p = 0.013), and, inversely, serum calcium(ß = –0.247; 95% CI (–1.347)-(–0.010), p = 0.047).Conclusions: Serum 25-hydroxy vitamin D was significantly related to endothelialfunctions measured as RHI, even in healthy non-smoker women
