Regulasi Emosi pada Penderita Hiv/aids

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui regulasi emosi penderita HIV/AIDS dan faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi regulasi emosi pada penderita HIV/AIDS. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara dan observasi kepada subjek penderita HIV/AIDS. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari dua orang penderita HIV/AIDS dengan dua orang significant person. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan regulasi emosi dilakukan oleh kedua subjek untuk mengatur respon emosi dari permasalahan yang muncul setelah kedua subjek terinfeksi HIV/AIDS. Subjek pertama yang merupakan seorang wanita yang telah menikah, menggunakan strategi regulasi emosi antecendent-focussed strategy (cognitive reapraissal). Melalui proses regulasi emosi yang terdiri dari situation selection, situation modification, attention deployment, cognitive change, dan modulation respon. Faktor yang mempengaruhi penggunaan regulasi emosi subjek pertama yakni harapan akan masa depan anak, keterbukaan (self disclosure) dan dukungan sosial (sosial support). Subjek kedua yang merupakan pria yang belum menikah, meregulasi emosi dengan menggunakan strategi regulasi emosi respon focused strategy (expression suppression) melalui proses regulasi emosi situation selection. Penggunaan strategi regulasi emosi ini dipengaruhi faktor ketidakmampuan membuka diri dan dukungan sosial (sosial support). Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah kedua subjek meregulasi emosi dengan pemilihan strategi regulasi emosi yang berbeda. Faktor yang paling mempengaruhi penggunaan regulasi emosi penderita HIV/AIDS adalah dukungan sosial (sosial Support)

Afaattisille henkilöille valittujen AAC-menetelmien toimivuus kokonaisvaltaisessa kommunikaatiossa ja vuorovaikutuksessa

Tiivistelmä. Tämän pro gradu -tutkielman tarkoituksena oli tutkia yksilöllisesti valittujen puhetta tukevien menetelmien (AAC-menetelmien) toimivuutta afaattisten henkilöiden kokonaiskommunikaatiossa. Tutkimuksessa keskityttiin selvittämään, kuinka hyvin puheterapeuttinen AAC-kuntoutusprosessi on toteutunut sekä tarjoaako valittu AAC-menetelmä tarvittavaa tukea afaattisille henkilöille. Tutkimukseen osallistui seitsemän koehenkilöparia, jotka koostuivat afaattisesta henkilöstä sekä yhdestä heidän lähi-ihmisestään. Afaattisten koehenkilöiden iät vaihtelivat tutkimushetkellä 46–73 vuoden välillä. Tutkimus suoritettiin puolistrukturoitua teemahaastattelumenetelmää käyttäen. Afaattisten henkilöiden puheen ymmärtämisen tasoa arvioitiin Token-testillä sekä keskustelutilanteita observoiden. Haastattelut tehtiin tutkimuspari kerrallaan ensin lähi-ihmiselle ja tämän jälkeen afaattiselle henkilölle, jotta samoihin kysymyksiin saatiin molempien omat näkökannat. Tuloksista kävi ilmi, että AAC-menetelmää käytettiin pääosin vasta viimeisenä kommunikointikeinona, vaikka AAC-menetelmästä nähtiin kokonaisuudessaan olevan hyötyä kommunikoinnissa. Valitut AAC-menetelmät tarjosivat melko hyvin tarvittavaa tukea kommunikoinnin ongelmiin, mutta suurella osalla oli parannusehdotuksia AAC-menetelmänsä suhteen. Lisäksi AAC-menetelmää koskevat valinta-, ohjaus- ja kuntoutusprosessit oli toteutettu afaattisten henkilöiden kohdalla hyvin eri tavoin ja tyytyväisyys kuntoutuksen laatuun sekä määrään vaihteli tutkittavien kesken. Tutkimuksessa saadut tulokset osoittavat, että AAC-kuntoutuskaaren toteuttamisen yhtenäistämiseen olisi tarvetta. Myös AAC-menetelmien jatkuva kehittäminen on tärkeää, jotta puhetta tukevien menetelmien käyttöastetta afaattisten henkilöiden arjessa voitaisiin nostaa. Kuitenkin tutkimusjoukon pienuuden vuoksi saadut tulokset jäävät suuntaa antaviksi ja lisää tutkimusta aiheesta tarvittaisiin

Large N Field Theory and AdS Tachyons

In non-supersymmetric orbifolds of N =4 super Yang-Mills, conformal invariance is broken by the logarithmic running of double-trace operators -- a leading effect at large N. A tachyonic instability in AdS_5 has been proposed as the bulk dual of double-trace running. In this paper we make this correspondence more precise. By standard field theory methods, we show that the double-trace beta function is quadratic in the coupling, to all orders in planar perturbation theory. Tuning the double-trace coupling to its (complex) fixed point, we find conformal dimensions of the form 2 + i b, as formally expected for operators dual to bulk scalars that violate the stability bound. We also show that conformal invariance is broken in perturbation theory if and only if dynamical symmetry breaking occurs. Heterogeneity of the bone marrow niche in patients with myeloproliferative neoplasms: ActivinA secretion by mesenchymal stromal cells correlates with the degree of marrow fibrosis

Mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs) represent an essential component of the bone marrow (BM) niche and display disease-specific alterations in several myeloid malignancies. The aim of this work was to study possible MSC abnormalities in Philadelphia-negative myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPNs) in relationship to the degree of BM fibrosis. MSCs were isolated from BM of 6 healthy donors (HD) and of 23 MPN patients, classified in 3 groups according to the diagnosis and the grade of BM fibrosis: polycythemia vera and essential thrombocythemia (PV/ET), low fibrosis myelofibrosis (LF-MF), and high fibrosis MF (HF-MF). MSC cultures were established from 21 of 23 MPN patients. MPN-derived MSCs did not exhibit any functional impairment in their adipogenic/osteogenic/chondrogenic differentiation potential and displayed a phenotype similar to HD-derived MSCs but with a decreased expression of CD146. All MPN-MSC lines were negative for the patient-specific hematopoietic clone mutations (JAK2, MPL, CALR). MSCs derived from HF-MF patients displayed a reduced clonogenic potential and a lower growth kinetic compared to MSCs from HD, LF-MF, and PV/ET patients. mRNA levels of hematopoiesis regulatory molecules were unaffected in MSCs from HF-MF compared to HD. Finally, in vitro ActivinA secretion by MSCs was increased in HF-MF compared to LF-MF patients, in association with a lower hemoglobin value. Increased ActivinA immunolabeling on stromal cells and erythroid precursors was also observed in HF-MF BM biopsies. In conclusion, higher grade of BM fibrosis is associated with functional impairment of MSCs and the increased secretion of ActivinA may represent a suitable target for anemia treatment in MF patients
