Rural Competitiveness: Results of the 1996 Rural Manufacturing Survey

Establishments in metropolitan and nonmetropolitan locations are surprisingly similar in their adoption of new technologies, worker skill requirements, use of government programs and technical assistance, exports, and sources of financing, according to the results of a nationwide survey of 3,909 manufacturing businesses. The most widespread concern of both metro and nonmetro businesses appears to be with quality of labor. Survey respondents report rapidly increasing skill requirements, and many report problems finding qualified workers. Quality of local labor is the most frequently cited problem associated with nonmetro business locations. Access to credit, transportation, and telecommunications infrastructure is a problem of secondary importance for both metro and nonmetro respondents. Rural communities face a considerable challenge in supplying workers with needed skills. Organiza-se em torno de nove capítulos, envolvendo 21 autores (19 nacionais e dois internacionais). Numa análise global verificamos que há um capítulo de fundamentos e princípios da pesquisa-ação (capítulo 1); um de levantamento de evidências de estudos com pesquisa-ação (capítulo 2), três capítulos que trazem experiências-ensinantes com pesquisa-ação (capítulos 3, 6 e 8), e outros quatro que tratam de abordagens-convergentes com a pesquisa-ação (capítulos 4, 7, 5 e 9)

PRODUÇÃO CIENTÍFICA NA ÁREA DE ADMINISTRAÇÃO APLICADA A ENFERMAGEM

O presente estudo tem como objetivo conhecer a atual fase da produção científica na área de administração aplicada à enfermagem, dentro do contexto geral da pesquisa em enfermagem, no Brasil, nos últimos 40 anos. Através do acervo bibliográfico do Banco de Dados, utilizaremos todos os periódicos nacionais (em nº de treze) no período de 1948-1988. Os trabalhos publicados nesses periódicos serão analisados de acordo com: área de atuarão do autor principal mencionada no artigo, assunto de predomínio de acordo com a indexação no Banco de Dados, periódico de publicação, período de publicação e o método e técnica empregados na elaboração do mesmo. Desejamos assim poder contribuir para o conhecimento e a discussão, pela enfermagem, do atual estágio da produção científica em administração aplicada a enfermagem, suas linhas de pesquisa bem como as áreas de interesse dos autores.The present study has the objective of identifying the current state of the scientific production regarding to the nursing administration in Brazil considering the nursing research environmet for the last 40 years, was used every national periodical — 1948-1988 stage in the bibliography data base contents. CAMINHOS E DESCAMINHOS DA PARTICIPAÇÃO: Um desafio a avaliação do Curso de Graduação da Escola de Enfermagem Anna Nery

ABSTRACT This study describes the favorable and infavorable outcomes of the student's participation in a nursing undergraduate course. It aims to identify the student's experiences in the several media of the course, the critical points, difficulties and suggestions regarding the elaboration of the participation quality and of the relationships student / student and student-professor. Along it are presented the theoreticar and philosophical assumptions and the methodology adopted, which in a qualitative approach, it adopts the content's analysis as a menas which facilitates identifying the lived happenings. The reality is described by 12 studentes, who finished the course in 1992 and it is done an evaluation of all that has been lived thronett by them during the four-year-course. One infers there are many miscarries and barriers to overcome, but the students and professors are searching, through dialogue, to reconstruct new ways; more qualitatives, more participative.O estudo descreve os caminhos e descaminhos da participação discente em um Curso de Graduação em Enfermagem. Objetiva identificar as experiências participativas das alunas nos vários ambientes do curso, os pontos críticos, dificuldades e sugestões de aperfeiçoamento da qualidade da participação e das relações aluno-aluno/aluno-professor. Durante o percursso são apresentados os pressupostos teóricos-filosóficos e a metodologia adotada que, numa abordagem qualitativa, adota a análise de conteúdo como meio facilitador de identificar as experiências vivenciadas. A realidade é descrita por 12 alunas concluintes da turma de 1992 e é feita uma avaliação de todo o trajeto vivenciado pelas mesmas em quatro anos de curso. Concluiu-se que há muitos tropeços e obstáculos a ultrapassar mas que alunos e professores estão buscando, no diálogo, reconstruir novos caminhos, mais qualitativos, mais participativos
