Structural and Functional Characterization of the Human Mdm2 and MdmX RING Domains

Human E3 ligase Mdm2 is an oncogene. Its amplification and overexpression have been found in many types of cancers. Mdm2 inhibits tumour suppressor p53 by regulating its stability through Mdm2 RING-mediated ubiquitination. Suppression of this process is the promising anti-cancer therapeutic approach. The objectives of this project were to employ biochemical methods to investigate the active site of Mdm2 RING in vitro through a mutational analysis of the homologous MdmX RING domain, and to elucidate functions of Mdm2 and MdmX RING in vivo. As a result, amino acid residues within the dimerization and E2 binding regions potentially involved in the Mdm2 RING-mediated ubiquitin transfer mechanism were identified. Furthermore, a suppressive effect of the Mdm2 and MdmX RING domains on p53 transcriptional activity was determined in vivo. Together, this study provides new insight into the function of Mdm2 RING and opens further perspective on the rational drug design to treat cancer

The article is devoted to assessing the current state of contemporary Russian literature abroad in terms of interest from foreign readers, influence from the Russian emigrants, the volume of translations and topics of interest. The article analyzes the cultural aspects and periods of Russian history of literature that are of particular interest to foreigners, as well as their reflection in modern prose in Russian. The Estimation of the Initial Stage of Succession of Green-pine Trees Windfall in the Eastern Moscow Suburbs

The paper is devoted to the study of entomocomplex of stem pests, the number and biology of its dominant species and the ecological structure of the soil mesofauna of the two differing in composition and growing conditions, areas of wind pine forests-green insects. The main causes of windfalls, which are unfavorable soil and soil conditions and the defeat of trees by the root sponge, are established. The degree of participation of different types of feed substrate in the dynamics of the number of stem pests in the lesion is estimated. In addition to the windfall of trees, stem pests are the adjacent one, decreasing the resistance of pine in the walls of the forest, overmature trees or trees weakened by anthropogenic, standing trees, the trunks of which are damaged by windfall to a lesser extent than the remaining standing part of inboard of broken trunks. We identified eight species of entomophagous parasitic on the grubs of Longhorn beetles and jewel beetles. It is noted that the population of ground beetles, in windswept areas studied, is characterized by a decrease in species diversity, a decrease in the number of moisture-loving species typical of pine forests of the Eastern Moscow region, a change in the spectrum of life forms in the direction of reducing litter species and increasing the proportion of litter-soil

Microwave Pre-processing Effect on Pectin Yield from Citrus Raw Material

The article describes a more environmentally friendly method to produce pectin compared to the classical acid scheme, which requires the use of strong mineral acids and toxic solvents. This method of obtaining pectin, like other analogs of the classical method, causes a decrease in the yield of the final product. This study aims to find ways of eliminating these barriers and increase the yield of pectin. The paper investigates the possibility to increase the yield of pectin obtained by acid hydrolysis applying citric acid through the use of preliminary microwave exposure to citrus raw materials. The work compares pectin quality indicators, such as the degree of esterification, molecular weight and gelation, for raw materials dried by the convective method and the combined method consisting of microwave pretreatment and blowing dry air. Curves of comparable pre-drying methods are presented. The rate of pectin yield at the stages of hydrolysis depending on the drying methods is analyzed. Optimal power modes for preliminary microwave drying of citrus raw materials are selected. The data obtained are valuable for both development and improvement of industrial technology of pectin production using environmental methods of extraction without the use of strong mineral acids to increase the yield and quality of pectin

Model of registration of road accidents: problems of law enforcement

This publication focuses on the theoretical investigation of issues arising in the Russian Federation in law enforcement related to the recently introduced digital procedure for the registration of road accidents through the “DTP.Europrotokol” electronic application running on the Android or Apple iOS operating systems. The purpose of the study is to examine the above method of independent registration of a road accident without authorized police officers, developed by the Russian Association of Motor Insurers, with a substantiation of the possibility of subsequent attaching evidentiary value to the information contained in such an application in legal proceedings for the recovery of insurance compensation in connection with the occurrence of this road accident. The authors assessed the effectiveness and feasibility of this digital traffic accident model, including the lack of sufficient regulatory guarantees for the safety of the information uploaded by the user to the mobile application, the existence of virtually unlimited powers of the application developer to control its functioning. They drew attention to certain enforcement problems associated with the assessment of the information available from the “DTP.Europrotokol” application, which is not possible to use in all cases, data the accuracy of which depends on many technical factors

Peculiarities of Poetics of the Unfinished Novel by Gayto Gazdanov “Takeover”

Статья посвящена изучению особенностей романа Гайто Газданова «Переворот». Впервые предпринята попытка литературоведческого анализа этого незаконченного романа, опубликованного после смерти писателя. Авторы анализируют причины трансформации романной прозы писателя, так как поэтика романа отличается от произведений, созданных им ранее. Предметом исследования являются стилистические особенности этого произведения. Авторы статьи дают обоснование появлению такого нового жанра в прозе Газданова и уделяют особое внимание сопоставлению проблематики романа и политической ситуации во Франции, а также анализируют влияние публицистической деятельности писателя, которая наложила отпечаток на стиль романа. Писатель раскрывает глубинный драматизм эпохи через ощущения главных героев и показывает сложную картину социальных отношений и политических противоборств.The article is devoted to the study of the features of Gaito Gazdanov's novel "The Coup". For the first time, an attempt was made to analyze this unfinished novel published after the death of the writer. The authors made analyze the reasons for the transformation of the novelist's prose, since the poetics of the novel differs from the works he created earlier. The subject of research is the stylistic features of this work. The authors of the article substantiate the emergence of such a new genre in Gazdanov's prose and pay special attention to comparing the problems of the novel and the political situation in France, and also analyze the influence of the writer's journalistic activities, which left an imprint on the style of the novel. The writer reveals the deep drama of the era through the feelings of the main characters and shows a complex picture of social relations and political confrontations

Феноменологическое повествование в прозе Гайто Газданова в контексте традиции русского феноменологического романа XX века

The article is devoted to the problem of phenomenological narration. The subject of the study are the concepts of "phenomenological novel", "phenomenological prose", "phenomenological narrative". The authors of the work substantiate the presence of phenomenological tendencies in G. Gazdanov's prose. Particular attention is paid to studying the genre of "novel about the artist" in G. Gazdanov's prose on the example of the novel "Evelina and her friends".Статья посвящена проблеме феноменологического повествования. Предметом исследования являются понятия «феноменологический роман», «феноменологическая проза», «феноменологическое повествование». Авторы работы дают обоснование присутствию феноменологических тенденций в прозе Г. Газданова. Особое внимание уделяется изучению жанра «романа о художнике» в прозе Г. Газданова на примере романа «Эвелина и ее друзья»

Intercultural communication methodology: teaching sciences and engineering students

The problem area of this research paper focuses on the priority functions of the language sphere of the being mentality necessarily reflecting the state documents on education, methodology of scientific and methodical support for the implementation of educational programs of language education for training students of non-linguistic departments of universities in line with the axiology within the current educational program research of the eco-system spaces of international language education in Russia. Current Scientific Scholarship in terms of the intercultural approach needs to be created for linguistic security via making the outmost of the language programs for SP. The goal of this article is threefold: a) to design Knowledge Content, Technology and Evaluation Concepts of the target Model, b) to substantiate the integration characteristics of intercultural communication at universities (Natural Sciences and Engineering), c) to clarify the integration characteristics of intercultural communication within the innovations of national education in the third millennium, based on topical issues of the polyphony of the eco-system spaces. The latter reflects the priority dominant values due to the cognitive, developmental and educational functions in line with positive trends requiring thorough attention of both the university pedagogical community and teachers of general education organizations

The Sociopsychological Profile of Persons with Alcohol Anosognosia in the Context of Social Customer Support

AIM: We aimed to focus on the sociopsychological profile of a person with alcohol anosognosia. METHODS: The study was conducted in the narcological inpatient adult department of the Starooskolsky Narcological Dispensary for 1.5 months and involved 60 male patients over the age of 18 with at least 5-year alcohol dependence. RESULTS: As a result of the study, the individual typological features of patients with anosognosia were identified and structured. CONCLUSION: The findings may be applied in the development of social support measures for persons with anosognosia to resocialize them and achieve long-term therapeutic remission
