Dialectical and historical method, cultural-historical theory and education: some appropriation in research on education of teachers who teach mathematics

The contributions of the cultural-historical approach to the comprehension of phenomena related to learning processes and human development have been expressed in the increasing number of academic research that take such approach as theoretical reference. This work presents the main theoretical assumptions of dialectical and historical materialism method that founded the investigations of Vygotsky and his contributors and how these structuring elements have been taken as reference in the production of theses and dissertations on education of teachers who teach mathematics. In the analysis of these studies, the text highlights aspects about monitoring, apprehension and analysis of the phenomenon investigated in light of the historical-cultural theory and explains some possible theoretical and methodological ways to researches supported by this theoretical approach

Evaluation of a Proposed Set of Usability Heuristics

The innovations proposed by the mobile phone market have grown steadily in recent years, along with the increasing complexity of the hardware, operating systems and applications available in this market. These changes bring new usability-related challenges that need to be considered during the application development process, as new forms of user-application interaction increasingly require behavioral adaptation. In this situation, usability is an important issue, which depends on usability factors such as the User, their characteristics and skills, the Task he intends to achieve and also the Context of Use in which the user and the application are inserted. The components of this set are detailed in a set of heuristics previous proposed that was evaluated through two heuristic evaluations, which allowed to incorporate improvements to the proposal. Furthermore, a set of 13 usability heuristics and 183 sub-heuristics were proposed, which, through heuristic evaluations, better results were evidenced. The proposal makes it easier for experts to find a greater number of usability problems, mostly of greater severity, compared to the proposal of Inostroza et al. As possible future work, further evaluations may be carried out to evaluate the proposal to include more experts in the field, as well as to use the set of heuristics in a larger number of applications of different categories

Este artigo pretende demonstrar que os animais são sujeitos de direitossubjetivos por força das leis que os protegem. Embora não possam ter identidadecivil e ser registrados em cartório, são portadoras de direitos inerentes à sua naturezade ser vivo e de indivíduos de uma determinada espécie. Se observamos que osdireitos de personalidade do ser humano lhe pertencem como indivíduo, e seadmitirmos que o direito à vida é imanente a tudo que vive, podemos concluir queos animais também possuem direitos de personalidade, como o direito á vida e aonão sofrimento. E tal como os juridicamente incapazes seus direitos são garantidospor representatividade, tornando-se esses direitos deveres de todos os homens

Inventory of grasses in Cerrado areas impacted by farming, Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil

A floristic survey of grasses (Poaceae) in grassland, savanna and forest formations of Mato Grosso do Sul is presented. Field collections were performed from August 2007 through July 2008. We found 28 genera and 45 species of Poaceae, of which 27 are native and 18 exotic. The subfamily Panicoideae had the highest number of species (33). Setaria parviflora (Poir.) Kerguélen was found in all areas sampled. Sown pastures were the most species-rich (24). A checklist of the species recorded, with data on origin, life cycle, forage potential and habitat recorded from field observations is presented. An identification key is given, to support taxonomic and ecological studies.(Inventário das gramíneas em áreas de Cerrado sob influência de atividade agropecuária, Mato Grosso do Sul, Brasil). Com o propósito de reunir informações florísticas das gramíneas (Poaceae) de formações campestres, savânicas e florestais do Mato Grosso do Sul foram realizados levantamentos florísticos de agosto de 2007 a julho de 2008. Obteve-se o total de 45 espécies de Poaceae distribuídas em 28 gêneros, das quais 27 espécies são nativas e 18 exóticas. Panicoideae foi a subfamília mais representativa (33 spp.). Setaria parviflora (Poir.) Kerguélen foi comumente encontrada em todas as áreas amostradas e a maior riqueza específica foi encontrada em pastagens cultivadas (24). O trabalho apresenta a lista de espécies confirmadas para a área de estudo, bem como dados sobre origem, ciclo de vida, potencial forrageiro, e hábitat, a partir de observações na área de estudo. An Analysis of Measurement and Metrics Tools: A Systematic Literature Review

Measurement is an important field in Software Engineering, since it allows for organizations to obtain trustworthy estimates regarding deadlines, cost, and quality for the development of their software projects. Many tools are available for the calculation and storage of metrics and therefore, choosing the best tool can be a hard task. Faced with such a problem, this study carries out an analysis of the measurement tools presented in literature. The methodology chosen for the task was the systematic literature review. The results of the systematic review present the metric tools chosen in literature, their functionalities, and the main metrics used by these tools. The primary contribution of this article is a list with the metrics used by each of these tools, and their respective classification, according to their use in academia as well as in the software industry
