    INVESTMENT BEHAVIOR AND ENERGY CONSERVATION

Binary logit and bivariate probit models were used to investigate the investment behavior of farmers relative to two energy-conserving assets, heat-recovery systems and precoolers. The bivariate probit procedure was useful in correcting for self-selectivity bias. Holdout samples and cross-validation procedures were used to develop true model statistics. Farm size, educational level of the operator, and the type of milking system in use were the important factors influencing investment behavior.Farm Management,

Discriminatory power of RNA family models

    Get PDF
Motivation: RNA family models group nucleotide sequences that share a common biological function. These models can be used to find new sequences belonging to the same family. To succeed in this task, a model needs to exhibit high sensitivity as well as high specificity. As model construction is guided by a manual process, a number of problems can occur, such as the introduction of more than one model for the same family or poorly constructed models. We explore the Rfam database to discover such problems

This study aimed purpose of this research is to improve learning outcomes IPA students class fourth of SDN 009 Binio Jaya Kecamatan Kelayang by applying the learning model NHT. The subjects were students of class IV consisting 24 students consisting of 13 male students and 11 female students. This type of research is the Classroom Action Research (PTK), which comprises two cycles (4 meetings). Based on the research activities of teachers in the first cycle-one meetings to gain success 58.33% with less criteria. At the 2nd meeting increased to 70.83% with good criterion. In the second cycle to meeting all first gained 83.33% success criteria very well. At the 2nd meeting increased to 91.67% with the criteria is also very good. Activities of students in the first cycle-one meetings to gain success with krieria 45.83% less. 2nd meeting increased to 62.5% with sufficient criteria. Implementation of the second cycle of meetings to-1 increased to 83.33% with good criterion once. At the 2nd meeting increased to 91.67% with good criterion once. The average value of daily tests before deploying IPA student cooperative learning model NHT is 63.54. At UH 1 daily value increased to 67.92 students who have increased as much as 6.89% by the number of students who completed 9 students from 24 students. At UH 2 has increased the average value of as much as 34.76% to 85.63. It can be concluded that the application of cooperative learning model NHT can improve learning outcomes IPA students class fourth of SDN 009 Binio Jaya Kecamatan Kelayang

Three-dimensional flow structure and bed morphology in large elongate meander loops with different outer bank roughness characteristics

Ā© 2016. American Geophysical Union. All Rights Reserved. Few studies have examined the three-dimensional flow structure and bed morphology within elongate loops of large meandering channels. The present study focuses on the spatial patterns of three-dimensional flow structure and bed morphology within two elongate meander loops and examines how differences in outer bank roughness influence near-bank flow characteristics. Three-dimensional velocities were measured during two different eventsā€”a near-bankfull flow and an overbank event. Detailed data on channel bathymetry and bed form geometry were obtained during a near-bankfull event. Flow structure within the loops is characterized by strong topographic steering by the point bar, by the development of helical motion associated with flow curvature, and by acceleration of flow where bedrock is exposed along the outer bank. Near-bank velocities during the overbank event are less than those for the near-bankfull flow, highlighting the strong influence of the point bar on redistribution of mass and momentum of the flow at subbankfull stages. Multiple outer bank pools are evident within the elongate meander loop with low outer bank roughness, but are not present in the loop with high outer bank roughness, which may reflect the influence of abundant large woody debris on near-bank velocity characteristics. The positions of pools within both loops can be linked to spatial variations in planform curvature. The findings indicate that flow structure and bed morphology in these large elongate loops is similar to that in small elongate loops, but differs somewhat from flow structure and bed morphology reported for experimental elongate loops

This research is deskriftif by using a quantitative approach. The population in this study are all the patients in the inpatient room class III Hospital Imelda and the number of samples as the respondents a total of 65 people. The results showed the category indicator is direct evidence or real nurses are the majority category either as many as 54 people (83.1%), the category of indicators of reliability of nurses is the majority of the categories are good enough as many as 37 people (56.9%), indicator category respond swiftly nurses are the majority category either as many as 28 people (43.1%), indicator categories convinces nurses are the majority category either as many as 25 people (38.5%) and categories of indicators are the majority of nurses empathy categories less well as many as 26 people (40,0%).In order to change the perception of patients who are not good indicators of health care nurses in inpatient hospitals, Imelda, required the efforts of requiring inpatient room nurses in training activities and seminars on health so that knowledge is always growing and developing as well as they can provide a wide range of health information to patients with precise, hospital management need to set policies and measures to deal with the patient's complaint about the persuasive approach to nurse the nurse through the supervision of the head of the room and the awarding of reward
