    Analysis of the Availability of Healthy Food to Residents of Megalopolis: Who Try to Keep to a Healthy Lifestyle

    The aim of this work is to assess the state of the markets, healthy nutrition and healthy food delivery in Moscow in order to identify business opportunities for market entry of a new member-the company "GoodFoodFit". Within the designated goals there were set the following objectives: to conduct market analysis of healthy food delivery across Russia and Moscow; to identify the main trends and tendencies of markets; to analyze the key market participants of healthy food deliverers and identify their weaknesses and strengths; to determine the main consumers and their preferences; to identify the business opportunities to create one’s own service, and finally to prepare financial justification of the project implementation. As a result of the analysis of the Russian market of healthy eating and the study of consumer preferences of people looking to maintain a healthy lifestyle and utilizing healthy food delivery service, it was revealed that the most promising for creating healthy food delivery service is the average price segment

    Latest results of the Tunka Radio Extension (ISVHECRI2016)

    The Tunka Radio Extension (Tunka-Rex) is an antenna array consisting of 63 antennas at the location of the TAIGA facility (Tunka Advanced Instrument for cosmic ray physics and Gamma Astronomy) in Eastern Siberia, nearby Lake Baikal. Tunka-Rex is triggered by the air-Cherenkov array Tunka-133 during clear and moonless winter nights and by the scintillator array Tunka-Grande during the remaining time. Tunka-Rex measures the radio emission from the same air-showers as Tunka-133 and Tunka-Grande, but with a higher threshold of about 100 PeV. During the first stages of its operation, Tunka-Rex has proven, that sparse radio arrays can measure air-showers with an energy resolution of better than 15\% and the depth of the shower maximum with a resolution of better than 40 g/cm\textsuperscript{2}. To improve and interpret our measurements as well as to study systematic uncertainties due to interaction models, we perform radio simulations with CORSIKA and CoREAS.     The optical module of the Baikal deep underwater neutrino telescope

    A deep underwater Cherenkov telescope has been operating since 1993 in stages of growing size at 1.1 km depth in Lake Baikal. The key component of the telescope is the Optical Module (OM) which houses the highly sensitive phototube QUASAR-370. We describe design and parameters of the QUASAR-370, the layout of the optical module, the front-end electronics and the calibration procedures, and present selected results from the five-year operation underwater. Also, future developments with respect to a telescope consisting from several thousand OMs are discussed.Comment: 30 pages, 24 figure

    Sorption properties of poly(3-aminopropylsilsesquioxanes) modified with thiourea groups were studied to predict the possibility of using poly(n-thiocarbamoyl-3-aminopropylsilsesquioxanes) (TCPS) in separation and concentration techniques. The sorbents were synthesized by the sol-gel method followed by solid-phase modification using ammonium thiocyanate or thiosemicarbazide as modifiers. It was established that sorbents with the highest content of thiocarbamide functional groups (modified with ammonium thiocyanate) enabled quantitative and selective recovery of Ag (I) from strongly acidic solutions. The degree of Ag (I) recovery slightly decreases at pH5, which is associated with increasing competitive sorption of Cu (II), Ca (II), Mg (II), Mn (II) and Fe (III). The highest recovery of Ag (I) for TCPS-0.63 and TCPS-0.68 was achieved at pH ranging from 4 to 8 (degree of recovery was 55–68% (TCPS-0.63); 21–26% (TCPS-0.68 )); at the same time, there was a predominance of competitive sorption of Ca (II), Mg (II), Mn (II), and Fe (III). Based on the aforementioned, it can be concluded that the sorbents modified with ammonium thiocyanate are characterized by high concentration of attached thiocarbamide groups that make them suitable for the selective recovery of Ag (I) ions from multicomponent solutions at pH 1–2.     Registration of atmospheric neutrinos with the Baikal neutrino telescope

    We present first neutrino induced events observed with a deep underwater neutrino telescope. Data from 70 days effective life time of the BAIKAL prototype telescope NT-96 have been analyzed with two different methods. With the standard track reconstruction method, 9 clear upward muon candidates have been identified, in good agreement with 8.7 events expected from Monte Carlo calculations for atmospheric neutrinos. The second analysis is tailored to muons coming from close to the opposite zenith. It yields 4 events, compared to 3.5 from Monte Carlo expectations. From this we derive a 90 % upper flux limit of 1.1 * 10^-13 cm^-2 sec^-1 for muons in excess of those expected from atmospheric neutrinos with zenith angle > 150 degrees and energy > 10GeV.Comment: 20 pages, 11 figure

    We review the present status of the Baikal Underwater Neutrino Experiment and present results obtained with the various stages of the stepwise increasing detector: NT-36 (1993-95), NT-72 (1995-96) and NT-96 (1996-97). Results cover atmospheric muons, first clear neutrino events, search for neutrinos from WIMP annihilation in the center of the Earth, search for magnetic monopoles, and -- far from astroparticle physics -- limnology.Comment: Talk given at the Int.
