    Undifferentiated carcinoma with undifferentiated osteoclast-like cells (UC-OGC) in the head of the pancreas is extremely rare. The clinicalpathological, imaging and topographic appearance characteristics are not wellclassified. This case report describes a patient with UC-OGC of the Pancreas Head. Our patient, an adult over 75 years of age, had a considerable illness time, without relevant symptoms until the advanced stages of the tumor, debuting with shallow gastric discomfort, then weight loss. In the diagnostic tests they found the presence of a tumor that compromised the stomach, duodenum and pancreas. The definitive diagnosis was given by the pathological study. There are not enough clinical data available for a treatment that guarantees a higher survival rate in patients, however, pancreatoduodenectomy is currently the alternative that offers the best results, on the other hand, the prognosis after surgery and the recurrence rate still uncertain.El carcinoma indiferenciado con células indiferenciadas tipo osteoclasto (UC-OGC) en cabeza de páncreas, es extremadamente raro. Las características clínicopatológicas, de imagen y la apariencia topográfica no están bien clasificadas. Este reporte de caso describe un paciente con UC-OGC de cabeza de páncreas. Nuestro paciente un adulto mayor de 75 años de edad, presentaba un tiempo de enfermedad considerable, sin sintomatología relevante hasta las etapas avanzadas del tumor, debutando con molestias gástricas someras, luego pérdida de peso. En los exámenes diagnósticos hallaron la presencia de un tumor que comprometía el estómago, duodeno y páncreas. El diagnóstico definitivo lo dio el estudio anatomopatológico. No se dispone de datos clínicos suficientes para un tratamiento que garantice una mayor tasa de supervivencia en los pacientes, sin embargo, la pancreatoduodenectomía es actualmente la alternativa que mejores resultados ofrece, por otra parte, el pronóstico después de la cirugía y la tasa de recurrencia sigue incierto

    Screening length and the direction of plasma winds

    We study the screening length of a heavy quark-antiquark pair in strongly coupled gauge theory plasmas flowing at velocity v following a proposal by Liu, Rajagopal, and Wiedemann. We analyze the screening length as the direction of the plasma winds vary. To leading order in v, this angle-dependence can be studied analytically for many theories by extending our previous formalism. We show that the screening length is locally a minimum (maximum) when the pair is perpendicular (parallel) to the plasma winds, which has been observed for the N=4 plasma.     Analyzing First-Person Stories Based on Socializing, Eating and Sedentary Patterns

    First-person stories can be analyzed by means of egocentric pictures acquired throughout the whole active day with wearable cameras. This manuscript presents an egocentric dataset with more than 45,000 pictures from four people in different environments such as working or studying. All the images were manually labeled to identify three patterns of interest regarding people's lifestyle: socializing, eating and sedentary. Additionally, two different approaches are proposed to classify egocentric images into one of the 12 target categories defined to characterize these three patterns. The approaches are based on machine learning and deep learning techniques, including traditional classifiers and state-of-art convolutional neural networks.     Emerging Regulatory Experiments in Permit Process Coordination for Endangered Species and Aquatic Resources in California

    The interconnected relationship between California’s wetlands and endangered species has spurred recent efforts to coordinate endangered species permitting under federal and state endangered species laws with freshwater aquatic resource permits under the federal Clean Water Act and analogous state laws. The University of California, Irvine School of Law Center for Land, Environment, and Natural Resources surveyed these emerging permit coordination efforts among several proposed and existing California Habitat Conservation Plans/Natural Community Conservation Plans. This Article explores these nascent initiatives, including the coordinating tools they have tested, the anticipated benefits, and the already observed challenges. Preliminary evidence suggests that clearer guidance from federal agency headquarters, building on recent Presidential interagency initiatives in infrastructure permitting, would likely provide the best opportunity to promote beneficial permit coordination while minimizing potential drawbacks

    First record of a tropical shallow water barnacle Tetraclita sp. (Cirripedia: Tetraclitoidea) from the middle Neogene of the Canary Islands

    This paper describes the first record of the intertidal, tropical tetraclitoid barnacle Tetraclita sp. cf. T. stalactifera (Lamarck, 1818) from the middle Neogene of the Canary Islands. The barnacles were recovered as isolated plates from a bioclastic volcanic agglomerate. Associated fauna in- cludes patellid and neritid gastropods, and an oyster bank, which confirm a shallow-water litoral setting. Living Tetraclita stalactifera is recorded from tropical waters of the America, South Africa and the Arabian Sea; it is first recorded as fossil from Plio-Pleistocene of Curaçao (Caribbean Sea, Venezuela)

    A silence black hole: Hawking radiation at the Hagedorn temperature

    We compute semi-classically the Hawking emission for different types of black hole in type II string theory. In particular we analyze the thermal transition between NS5 branes and Little String Theory, finding compelling evidence for information recovering. We find that once the near horizon limit is taken the emission of a full family of models is exactly thermal even if back-reaction is taken into account. Consequently these theories are non-unitary and can not convey any information about the black hole internal states. It is argue that this behaviour matches the string theory expectations. We suggest a plausible reason for the vanishing of the jet-quenching parameter in such theories.Comment: 18 pages, harvma
