    Decision Support Systems for the Efficiency Social Networks of Small and Medium Enterprises

    The objective of this literature review article was to develop a framework of reference for the use of social networks as a decision support systems tool for the efficiency of small and medium enterprises. Twenty (20) research articles were reviewed from 2011 to 2017 that were associated with the topics of decision support systems, strategic decisions, and social networks. The research findings suggest that the use of decision support systems help the organization gain a competitive advantage, improve performance by analyzing the data obtained, and the data extracted from social networks add value to the company with low investment. Social networks have transformed the availability of information for their customers, making available a set of tools for searching, debugging, and validating data from both: individuals and organizations [19]. The use of social media is an effective modality for the development of relationships with clients and employees [10]

    Coffee consumption habits have evolved along with society for more than 300 years around the world. Social changes imply different lifestyles in each culture. Lifestyles influence the myths used by people in their consumption decisions. The objective of this research is to determine the relationship between lifestyle and coffee consumption habits, from the perspective of myth, in the inhabitants of the Mexican municipalities of Orizaba, Tehuipango, and Zongolica. A survey was conducted with a sample of inhabitants of the three municipalities studied. The statistical analyzes applied were the central limit theorem, Pearson, and Chi-square. The results show that the variables Consumption habits-Lifestyle-Myth, are highly dependent on the level of perception of people. It is concluded that the coffee myth corresponds to the "family union" in the study municipalities. This myth is not characterized in the evolutionary stages contemplated in the "waves of coffee"

    Calidad de vida y función sexual en mujeres con disfunción del piso-pélvico del sur de Chile

    Antecedentes/Objetivos: La disfunción del piso pélvico (DPP) es muy prevalente, afectando a un tercio de las mujeres adultas. Estas patologías no suponen un riesgo vital, pero sus síntomas pueden interferir con las actividades de la vida diaria incluyendo aspectos físicos, sociales y sexuales. En el sur de Chile, en el Hospital de alta complejidad (Regional-Concepción), se ha implementado la Unidad de Piso Pélvico (UPP). No hay evidencia sobre el efecto que supone en la calidad de vida y la función sexual de las mujeres que la padecen Describir la calidad de vida y función sexual de mujeres controladas en la Unidad de Piso Pélvico de un Hospital de alta complejidad en Chile. Métodos: Estudio transversal. Población: usuarias con DPP de la UPP del H. Regional-Concepción. Muestra 173. Variables: Caract. sociodemográficas, antecedentes obstétricos, tipo de DPP, Variables de Calidad de Vida (percepción del estado de salud, limitación emocional, limitación de actividades cotidianas, alteraciones de actividades sociales) (Short Form-12 Health Survey) y función sexual (PISQ-12). Análisis: medidas de dispersión, frecuencia absoluta- relativa. Resultados: Edad media 57 años, 88% con ingreso menor a 357€. 91% con IMC-sobrepeso y obesidad, 64% ≥ 3 hijos. Tipos DPP: 53% incontinencia de orina (IO), 35% prolapso vaginal (Pp), 12% IO+Pp. Calidad de vida (n = 173): Mala percepción de salud: 95%. Limitación emocional: 37%. Limitación de actividades cotidianas: 67%. Alteraciones de actividades sociales: 57% Función sexual (n = 95): Disfunción alta: 8,4%, moderada: 41,1%, baja 50,5%. El 15% nunca tuvo deseo-sexual los últimos 6 meses. El 14% admite no haber alcanzado el orgasmo en los últimos 6 meses, el mismo porcentaje admite no sentir excitación en el mismo período. El 19% admite no estar satisfechas con las actividades sexuales actuales, el 15% siente dolor durante las relaciones sexuales, el 40% admite sufrir de pérdidas de orina durante la actividad sexual, y el mismo número admite restringir su vida sexual debido al miedo de pérdida de orina durante el acto sexual. El 27% admite tener reacciones emocionales negativas durante las relaciones sexuales. El 10% y el 13% admite que sus parejas sufrían de disfunción eréctil y eyaculación, respectivamente. Por último, el 42% de las mujeres admite que sus orgasmos en los últimos 6 meses son más intensos. Conclusiones: Las mujeres con DPP presentan una alteración negativa de su calidad de vida y de su función sexual, aunque existe cierta incongruencia al valorar positivamente la calidad de los orgasmos cuando los demás aspectos de la vida sexual son negativos

    Phylogenetic relationships of the Amblyomma cajennense complex (Acari: Ixodidae) at mitogenomic resolution

    The genus Amblyomma is the third most diverse in the number of species within the Ixodidae, with practically half of its species distributed in the Americas, though there are also species occurring in Africa, Asia, and Australia. Within the genus, there are several species complexes with veterinary and public health importance. The Amblyomma cajennense complex, in the Americas, is represented by six species with a wide distribution, from Texas to northern Argentina. We combined two sequencing techniques to generate complete mitogenomes of species belonging to the Amblyomma cajennense complex: genome skimming and long-range PCRs sequencing methods. Thus, we generated seven new mitochondrial genomes for all species of the Amblyomma cajennense complex, except for Amblyomma interandinum. Genetic distances between the mitogenomes corroborate the clear differentiation between the five species of the Amblyomma cajennense complex. The phylogenetic relationships of these species had previously been evaluated by combining partial nuclear and mitochondrial genes and here these relationships are corroborated with a more robust framework of data, which demonstrates that the conjunction of mitochondrial and nuclear partial genes can resolve close relationships when entire genes or genomes are unavailable. The gene order, structure, composition, and length are stable across these mitogenomes, and they share the general characteristics of Metastriata. Future studies should increase the number of available mitogenomes for this genus, especially for those species from the Indo-Pacific region and Africa, by means of a better understanding of their relationships and evolutionary process.EEA RafaelaFil: Cotes-Perdomo, Andrea P.     Scaling functions from q-deformed Virasoro characters

    We propose a renormalization group scaling function which is constructed from q-deformed fermionic versions of Virasoro characters. By comparison with alternative methods, which take their starting point in the massive theories, we demonstrate that these new functions contain qualitatively the same information. We show that these functions allow for RG-flows not only amongst members of a particular series of conformal field theories, but also between different series such as N=0,1,2 supersymmetric conformal field theories. We provide a detailed analysis of how Weyl characters may be utilized in order to solve various recurrence relations emerging at the fixed points of these flows. The q-deformed Virasoro characters allow furthermore for the construction of particle spectra, which involve unstable pseudo-particles.Comment: 31 pages of Latex, 5 figure

    Impact Of Sentinel Lymph Node Biopsy In Breast Cancer Patients Treated With Neoadjuvant Chemotherapy

    EPS 196 Aim/Introduction: To analyze how many of the patients undergoing neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NCT) may benefit from SLNB, as well as the impact on patient management, especially in those with early axillary involvement. Materials and Methods: We included patients with breast carcinoma candidates to NCT discussed at the Tumor Committee of our hospital (April/2017-August/2019). All of them were subjected to clinical assessment, ultrasound and, if appropriate, histological analysis, axillary pre and post- NCT. Sentinel lymph node detection was performed after periareolar injection of [99mTc]Tc-nanocoloid (74 MBq) the day before surgery. In some cases, blue dye was injected and/or a pre-NPC metal clip was placed in the affected node. Results: Sixty-two patients were included. NCT achieved a complete breast response in 12 patients, partial in 46 and non-response in 4. Initially, 31 patients were classified as N0 and 31 as N+ (28 N1 and 3 N2), achieving a complete axillary response in 58% of N+ (18). SLNB was performed in 49 patients (79%; 100% in N0 and 58% in N+ from baseline). The gamma detection rate of the sentinel lymph node was 91.8% (93.5% in N0 and 88.9% in N+). 28 lymphadenectomies were undergone (45.2%; 22.5% in N0 and 67.7% in N+), 11 due to positive SLNB (5 N0 and 6 N1), 13 owing to lack of axillary response and 4 caused by the non-localization of the sentinel lymph node. SLNB was performed in 58% of N+ patients, of which 44.4% were negative, avoiding lymphadenectomy. Metal clip and/or blue dye techniques were used in 31 cases (50%). Conclusion: SLNB is viable in a high percentage of patients with previous NCT, with a high detection rate, even in patients with early affected axilla, avoiding lymphadenectomy to patients who achieve a complete response of the axillary lymph node

    The Importance Of Monoclonal Proteins Determination For The Correct Diagnosis Of Transthyretin Cardiac Amyloidosis By [Tc-99m]Tc-diphosphonates

    EPS-066 Aim/Introduction: To analyze the influence of the determination of free monoclonal proteins in blood and urine in the final diagnosis of Transthyretin Cardiac Amyloidosis (TTRA). Materials and Methods: We have analyzed 200 [99mTc]Tc-diphosphonates scans: 192 performed on 190 patients under suspicion of TTRA and 7 patients with grade II-III radiotracer myocardial deposit as a casual finding (November/2013 - January/2020). Likewise, clinical and laboratory characteristics (heart failure, LVEF, proBNP levels, immunofixation in serum and/or urine for the detection of monoclonal chains and chronic renal failure) have been evaluated. A positive case has been considered for TTRAwt or senile (Score Perugini II-III scan, negative immunofixation in serum and/or urine, negative genetic study), positive case for hereditary TTRA (Score Perugini II-III scan, negative immunofixation and positive genetic study), positive case for secondary amyloidosis (positive immunofixation and presence of hematologic malignancy) and undetermined amyloidosis (immunofixation not performed or positive and absence of haematologic malignancies at follow-up). Results: 59 positive scans have been detected, 47 men (79’7%) and 12 women (20’3%). The mean age of the group of positives was 82’66 years, while that of the negatives was 72’15. The mean proBNP levels in the positives are 7561, compared to 5869 in the negative group. Immunofixation (serum and/or urine for detection of kappa or lambda monoclonal chains at 30 (50.8%) has been performed on these patients. Finally, 37.2% (22/59) resulted in ATTRwt, 3.4% (2/59) hereditary ATTR (genetic study: variant E54Q and mutation c.424> A (p.Va.122Ile) in exon 4 of TTR) and 1.7% (1/59) secondary amyloidosis. The remaining 34/59 (57.7%) cases were undetermined amyloidosis (6 positive immunofixation and 27 without monoclonal proteins determination). Conclusion: Determination of monoclonal bands in blood and urine is mandatory to correctly characterize cases of cardiac amyloidosis and, in presence of monoclonal bands, to assess the existence of underlying haematological malignancies

    Quesungual slash and mulch agroforestry system (QSMAS): Improving crop water productivity, food security and resource quality in the sub-humid tropics

    The knowledge and principles generated by CPWF-PN15 confirm that QSMAS can be a model production system for implementing conservation agriculture to achieve food security and sustainable development in drought-prone areas of hillsides in the sub-humid tropics, while providing ecosystem services in the face of land degradation and climate change. As an adoptable option to replace the slash and burn traditional system, QSMAS can improve smallholder livelihoods through eco-efficient use and conservation of natural resources. Participatory validation activities suggest that the conservation agriculture principles embedded in QSMAS can be readily accepted by resource- poor farmers and local authorities in similar agroecosystems
