Transcriptome analysis in Coffea arabica, under several abiotic stresses, reveals differentially expressed genes in leaves.
In recent years, Coffea ssp. has become subject of increasing research in gene expression analysis, in the quest to find genetic factors associated to abiotic stress responses with special attention to transcription factors such as the DREB family. This focus was due to their involvement in the regulation of many stress-related genes that play an important role in cascading a response to an environmental stimuli. RNA-seq analysis, creates the possibility to s study the transcriptome and to identify differentially expressed genes upon an abiotic stress or any important agronomic trait. The main objectives of this work were to obtain an overview of the transcriptionally active genes in Arabica coffee leaves when subjected to several abiotic stresses and to analyze specific highly expressed candidate genes for environmental-stresses tolerance
Kissing molars extraction: case series and review of the literature
Kissing molars are a very rare form of inclusion defined as molars included in the same quadrant, with occlusal
surfaces contacting each other within a single dental follicle.
We present four cases of this pathology: a 35 year-old male, referred to the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Department of the Hospital Virgen del Rocio in Seville, and three females of 24, 26, and 31 years, all of which had
kissing molars that were treated by tooth extraction.
We have found only 10 cases published in the medical literature in which this type of inclusion is briefly described,
none of which elaborate on the surgical technique employed. In these cases, the indication for surgery is established
when there is a history of recurring infections or cystic lesions associated with dental inclusions. The extraction of
kissing molars requires an exhaustive comprehension of the anatomy of the region involved, sufficiently developed
surgical abilities, and an extensive planning proces
Differential fine-tuning of gene expression regulation in coffee leaves by CcDREB1D promoter haplotypes under water deficit.
Despite the importance of the DREB1D gene (also known as CBF4) in plant responses to water deficit and cold stress, studies analysing its regulation by transgenic approaches are lacking. In the current work, a functional study of three CcDREB1D promoter haplotypes (named HP15, HP16 and HP17) isolated from drought-tolerant and droughtsensitive clones of Coffea canephora was carried out in plants of C. arabica stably transformed by Agrobacterium tumefaciens by analysing their ability to regulate the expression of the uidA reporter gene in response to water deficit mimicked by polyethylene glycol (−2.0 MPa) and low relative humidity treatments

Supply chain management of biomass for energy generation: a critical analysis of main trends
The increasing need of decarbonising energy intensive processes has risen the demand for biomass. Biomass production, distribution and use for energy generation involve several supply chain systems of which understanding requires a comprehensive analysis of the biomass supply chain management. The present article maps the volume and diversity of research carried out in the production and management of biomass supply chains for energy generation. It critically evaluates how well studies have captured multidimensional issues pertaining the supply chain management of biomass used for energy production and identifies future research trends in this field. The VOSviewer (Center for Science and Technology Studies, Leiden University, Leiden, The Netherlands) and SciMat (University of Granada, Spain) tools are employed for the construction of scientific maps that demonstrate the evolution of research in the biomass supply chain management area for energy production. The results revealed that research on the biomass supply chain for power generation is booming, especially in the United States, England and Italy. However, in developing nations such as Brazil, India and China, studies are still at an infant stage. There is a rising concern about the emerging new trends related to biomass supply chain management for energy generation, especially if clean energy aims to be a prominent place in the global energy matrix
(relativamente ao da mãe) em cinco domínios: Cuidados Directos e Indirectos; Ensino/Disciplina; Brincadeira;
Lazer no Exterior.
mãe no envolvimento do pai. ------ ABSTRACT ------ This study explores Fathers’ perceptions about their level of involvement (relative to the mothers’) in 5
areas: Direct Care; Indirect Care; Teaching/Discipline; Play; and Leisure outside the home. Participants
were 110 bi-parental Portuguese Families. The level of the fathers’ involvement desired by the mothers,
child age, gender and temperament were measured as predictors of fathers’ perception of his relative
involvement level. Results show that according to father’s it’s the mother who almost always performs
tasks related to Indirect Care, while in the other domains the activities are shared. Mothers’ desire a
greater participation of the fathers in both type of Care activities, and a lesser participation in the Play
activities. Gender differences were found for Care and Play activities. Multiple Hierarquical Regression
Analyses show that the better predictor for the variance in father’s participation in all areas of family
routines was the level desired by the mothers. Results are discussed in each domain, considering the
hypotheses of the regulatory role of the mother in the fathers’ level of involvement
