Cost Estimation Approach for Scrum Agile Software Process Model

    Get PDF
The software development in the industry is moving towards agile due to the advantages provided by the agile development process. Main advantages of agile software development process are: delivering high quality software in shorter intervals and embracing change. Testing is a vital activity in software development process model, for delivering a high quality software product. Often testing accounts for more project effort and time than any other software development activities. The software testing cost estimation is one of the most important managerial activities related to resource allocation, project planning and to control overall cost of the software development. Several models have been proposed by various authors to address the issue of effort and cost estimation. Most of the models are directly or indirectly depend on the source code of the software product. But, majority of the testing in software organizations is done in black-box environment, where the source code of the software is not available to the testing teams. In this paper, an alternative approach to software testing cost estimation for scrum agile software process model, by considering various testing activities involved in black-box testing environment is presented. The proposed approach is applied on four real world case studies and found that this approach provides more accurate estimation of the testing effort and cost, and helps the software managers in controlling the overrun of the project schedules and project costs

Evaluation Of The Complications Associated With ORIF In The Management Of Mandibular Fractures- A 7 Years Retrospective Study

    Get PDF
Aim: This study is intended to evaluate the incidence of post-operative complications associated with ORIF in the management of mandibular fracturesMaterials and Method: A total of 224 patients who were diagnosed clinically and radiographically to have sustained mandibular fractures and were managed with ORIF between the period of June 2012 to May 2019 were included. Patient’s records were analysed to evaluate the incidence of post-operative complications that are associated with ORIF in the management of mandibular fractures. Results: It was observed that patients who underwent ORIF for the management of condylar fractures reported with relatively higher number of complications when compared to mandibular angle / body / parasymphysis fractures. Wound dehiscence, occlusal disturbance, paresthesia and infection leading to the removal of miniplates in general are the notable complications following ORIF.Conclusion: It can be concluded that the most common complications associated with ORIF in the management of mandibular fractures were majorly due to the surgical approach used than the type of fixation devices/techniques

Combined effectiveness of Maharasnadi Kashaya with Shunti Churna and Matra Basti with Ksheerabala Taila in Janu Sandhigata Vata (Osteoarthritis Knee) : An open label, single arm clinical study

Sandhi Gata Vata is a clinical condition that comes under the heading of Vata Vyadhi where Prakupita Vata affects Sandhi and causes specific signs and symptoms. Lakshanas of Sandhi Gata Vata of Janu Sandhi resembles the signs and symptoms of osteoarthritis of knee. Osteoarthritis of the knee is more commonly found in women than men, and the prevalence increases dramatically with age. The major risk factors associated with osteoarthritis knee joint are old age, obesity, excessive usage of knee joint (occupational), which makes it an important cause of disability. A clinical study was conducted on 31 subjects by administering combination of Maharsnadi Kashaya with Shunti Churna and Matra Basti with Ksheerabala Taila and the results obtained were statistically analysed. Statistically significant reduction in Lakshanas of Janu Sandhi Gata Vata and WOMAC scores were noted

Background: Pakshaghata is one among the 80 vataja nanatmaja vikara and is a roga of madhyama roga marga. Vatavyadhi is considered to be one among the ashta mahagadas. Vatagajankusha rasa is a combination of vyosha, bhasmas, vatsanabha, karkatasringi, haritaki etc. It has vatakaphahara, vikasi, vyavayi, rasayana etc properties. It is said to be effective in treating pakshaghata in 7 days if given along with Pippali churna and Manjishta kwatha. Aims and Objectives: To evaluate the efficacy of Vatagajankusha rasa with Pippali churna and Manjishta kwatha as anupana in the management of pakshaghata (CVA due to infarct). Methodology: Among 32 registered patients, 30 completed the course of treatment. They were administered with Vatagajankusha rasa 1 tablet (125 mg) after food with anupana 3gm Pippali churna and 15 ml Manjishta kwatha twice daily (morning and evening) for a period of 7 days. Nominal & ordinal data were analysed using non parametric tests like McNemar and Wilcoxon’s signed rank tests respectively. Result: There was statistically significant improvement in the primary and secondary outcome measures (p<0.05 was observed). Conclusion: Vatagajankusha rasa with Pippali churna and Manjishta kwatha as anupana is effective in the management of Pakshaghata (CVA due to infarct)

This study investigates the air compression air conditioning system which utilizes a rotary vane compressor that replaces the conventional mechanical compressor in automotives. The awareness for pollution, transportation contributing the major part has lead to measures taken by the Nation, demanding reduction of global warming refrigerants used in mobile air conditioning systems. Much of effort was to refurbish the system to safe operating condition and to evaluate its performance. The result of this study provides the basis for design of improved refrigeration systems for automotives and space conditioning applications. The queer system which is based on the works of Dr. Thomas C. Edwards, has been developed in which an oval shaped housing acts as a compressor and natural substance like air as refrigerant which offers a number of environmental and practical advantages.

Vrikshayurveda is a traditional branch of botany that studies plant growth and development. This science mostly recommends using Kunapa jala and Pancha gavya to increase crop output. This idea is around using organic farming to grow plants effectively. Kunapajala, is an organic liquid manure that is a by-product of fermentation and serves as a source of plant nutrients, was stated by Vrikshayurveda. The two main forms of Kunapajala used in practises are herbal and non-herbal, and both are made in accordance with the steps outlined in Vrikshayurvedha. Given its significance, we designed a study to examine the contribution of the Vrikshayurvedha idea to the evolution of medicinal plants; Prishniparni. Present study evaluated role of Kunapajala in the growth and % yield of plant Prishniparni. This study observed that Kunapajala treatment provides best response with respect to root yield and soil physico-chemical parameters. The yield of plant improved quantitatively as well as qualitatively after the use of Kunapajala
